  • Patent number: 5529482
Abstract: The manufacture of slit-type zip fasteners is accelerated by synchronizing the movement of the slit former with the movement of the ejector. A portion of the slit former slides while ejecting the product or closing the mould in a guide which causes a movement of the slit forming portion of the slit former obliquely to the general ejection direction thus pulling the slit forming portion out of the heads of the zipper teeth. The zip fastener is made preferably in a mould wherein the slider that comprises inter alia the moulds for the zipper stops is disposed asymmetrically at one end of the mould. The hot runner of this mould is designed in such a manner that the material flow is first directed to the feed nozzle furthest away from the slider and then to the nozzle next to the slider which is working for the injection moulding of a zip fastener of any length.

  • Patent number: 5523953
Abstract: A machine tool having a tool member which is moveable along at least one axis relative to a workpiece to be machined, comprising thermosensors for sensing temperatures of a plurality of components of the machine tool. Responsive to the sensed temperatures, neural networks infer thermal deformations of the machine components. Based on the inferred values of thermal deformations, a correction signal is obtained which is combined with a drive signal for moving the tool member and/or workpiece to correct for any positioning error in the direction of the axis. Thermal deformations of machine components should be suitably inferred under the circumstances prevailing where the machine tool is installed. A corresponding method of correcting thermal deformations in a machine tool is also described.

  • Patent number: 5511671
Abstract: Plates, especially glass sheets, are fed for sorting to a putting-up machine wherein a glass sheet is set upright against a wall in front of which the glass sheet is held in a determined position by an air flow provided by a blower. One glass sheet at a time is withdrawn from this position and pulled into a sorting carriage by nippers. The sorting carriage is then displaced in front of a compartment carriage and the glass sheets contained in the sorting carriage are pushed out by the nippers and inserted into the corresponding compartment of a compartment carriage. The installation has a simple construction, works particularly efficiently and takes optimally care of the glass sheets.

  • Patent number: 5505613
Abstract: The injection nozzle has a thin-walled centering bushing inserted between the tip insert and the mold insert. The centering bushing engages a shoulder of the mold insert and thus achieves a mutual centering and sealing of the tip insert and the mold insert. This avoids the inflow of molding material into the cavity between the tip insert and the mold insert which would impair or delay the changing of colors of the material, and the injection needle is effectively centered so that a cylindrical tip portion can close a very short cylindrical portion of a gate bore. The heat transfer between the heated nozzle parts and the mold insert is nevertheless maintained at a low level since the mutual centering is obtained by narrow contact sites.

  • Patent number: 5499548
Abstract: The movable actuating lever is connected to a transmission lever, at one hand, and is guided by means of a pin within a guideway in the housing of the apparatus, on the other hand. The transmission lever serves at the same time for transmitting the actuating motion via further levers to the apparatus part to be actuated. Due to the position and the shape of the guiding groove and the lever, the course of motion of the actuating lever with respect to the fixed handle portion may be optimally adapted to technical and ergonomic requirements in order to achieve an effective force transmission having minimal frictional losses. Furthermore, no levers are in the way, and injuries are avoided.

  • Patent number: 5487606
Abstract: A mixer for double dispensing cartridges having two storage cylinders whose volume ratio is different from 1:1 comprises a mixer housing which is attachable to the cartridges, and a mixing helix group which is arranged in the mixer housing. The two dispensing openings of the cartridges communicate with an inlet portion which precedes the mixing helix group and which is divided into a larger inlet chamber for the first component having a greater dispensing volume and a smaller inlet chamber for the second component having a smaller dispensing volume. The inlet portion is constructed to stem the first component and to supply the first component to the inlet chamber of the second component and to carry the latter along. Such a mixer allows an intimate mixing of the components without the need of uselessly dispensing a certain amount of the substance first in order to attain the correct mixing ratio.

  • Patent number: 5478150
Abstract: The device for the continuous monitoring of the correct proportioning and mixing of at least two fluids comprises a static or dynamic mixing device ending in a nozzle, wherein within the nozzle, the cross-sectional area of the stream or flow after the last mixing element of the static mixing device or at the end of the dynamic mixing device, as seen in the direction of flow, is substantially reduced compared to the cross-sectional area of the mixing part of the mixing device. This reduction is realized either by an internal volume displacing means or by reducing the diameter of the nozzle after the last mixing element of the static mixing device or at the end of the dynamic mixing device, and the nozzle being at a maximum transparency at the point of scanning. Such devices allow a more accurate monitoring since the greatest possible part of the stream of the mixed material can be more easily viewed or sensed.

  • Patent number: 5475297
Abstract: In a power supply circuit for an electric discharge machine, an inductive element is placed in circuit with the power supply and the gap. During the rise time of the machining current, the inductor element is shorted out by a switching element TR2 preventing it from affecting the time constant of the circuit. After the machining current's rise time, the inductive element is reinserted in series with the power supply and the gap in order to minimize the machining current cutoff and maintain a continuous flow of machining current.

  • Patent number: 5464131
Abstract: A manually actuated dispensing device for use with double dispensing cartridges for delivering two-component compositions comprises a double thrust ram for each cartridge and a drive member jointly acting on the thrust ram and being actuated by a trigger lever, the drive member comprising a thrust member which acts upon a toothing on the thrust ram. The thrust member comprises a driving dog provided with several teeth and being under the action of a spring, the driving dog acting substantially perpendicularly on the toothing of the thrust ram, and the thrust member acting essentially in the direction of the thrust ram or, respectively, the dispensing direction only. Such a dispensing device can be manufactured from a small number of low-priced parts of synthetic material and allows by the use of several teeth a substantial lowering of the contact-pressure, and a fast re-gripping of the trigger lever having a very small backlash.

  • Patent number: RE35125
Abstract: This invention provides a a ROM (10) which stores circuit function definition data for defining specified logic circuits relating to electric discharge machining and a programmable IC (20) which defines a specified logic circuit according to the circuit function definition data. This configuration is cost effective and minimizes hardware space requirements compared with configurations which used different logic circuits combined together. Further, when hardware needs to be reconfigured, the change can be achieved easily by replacing ROM (10) only.
