  • Patent number: 8093092
Abstract: A low-cost wafer-level packaging (WLP) method for attaching glass to optical image-sensor devices on a semiconductor wafer in order to increase the yield of image-sensor modules during later steps of assembly. One embodiment relates to applications with image-sensors (and microlenses) fabricated on a wafer. A glass wafer is singulated, aligned to mirror the die pattern on an image-sensor wafer, and then bonded to the image-sensor wafer such that optical adhesive forms a layer between the each image-sensor and its glass cover. Another embodiment applies cavity walls to singulated glass covers, which are then attached to image sensors which may be formed on a single wafer. The wafer can then be singulated and a plurality of image sensor packages is formed.

  • Patent number: 8091077
Abstract: Systems and methods for the efficient handling of rare events by modification of executable code is provided. The present invention eliminates the need for event checking code and handling in the primary execution path of compiled code by using a patch table to modify code during execution. Accordingly, event handling does not introduce additional instructions to the primary execution path, and thus will not interfere with compiler optimizations for maximal performance along the primary execution path. The present invention, therefore, provides event handling for events that occur rarely while reducing the size of the code for execution on memory-constrained devices.

  • Patent number: 8090873
Abstract: Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture consistent with the present invention provide a data processing system comprising a business application that receives data messages from a plurality of client data sources. The business application comprises a message pre-processor and a parsing processor. The message pre-processor classifies and identifies the data messages and sends the messages in a structured format to a message queue corresponding to its data type. The parsing processor receives the data messages from the message queues and selects a parser by applying a set of parsing rules. The parsing rules apply information about the data message and provide a decision as to the best parsing engine to use out of a plurality of paring engines. The parsing engines are also able to perform information refinement in accordance with selected components defined in a target output data model.

  • Patent number: 8085554
Abstract: An air inlet diffuser 10 is disclosed for attachment relative to an air inlet opening 106 of an electronics enclosure 100. The diffuser 10 extends into the electronics enclosure 100 and provides an increased surface area through which EMI attenuating apertures may be formed. The diffuser 10 also reduces the amount of structure that is disposed within the air inlet opening 106 thereby reducing impedance to airflow through the opening 106 into the enclosure 100. The increased surface are of the diffuser 10 allows for increasing the number of EMI attenuating apertures that may be utilized for a given inlet opening 106. In one embodiment, the total open area of the EMI apertures is greater than the open area of the air inlet opening. In such an embodiment, the EMI apertures provide low impedance to airflow through the diffuser 10 and increased airflow in conjunction with EMI attenuation may be realized.

  • Patent number: 8073674
Abstract: A method for storage virtualization in user space. The method includes providing a first emulation module running in the OS kernel and providing a second emulation module in the user space of the computer, which may emulate a media changer or other SCSI or other storage device. The method continues with a kernel-resident driver receiving a packet of data at a port of the computer that is linked to a data communications network (such as a SAN). The packet of data may include command data for a particular data storage device (e.g., a SCSI command for a SCSI device). The method includes operating the first emulation module to communicate with the driver and to then pass through the packet of data to the second emulation module, allowing the second emulation module to run in user space but efficiently receive data from the kernel-resident driver via the first emulation module.

  • Patent number: 8072783
Abstract: The invention relates to an input circuit for a logic circuit part, comprising a voltage converter component for conversion of a mains voltage to the required low voltage in order to supply a user with a low voltage. The supply to the input circuit may hence be connected to a mains supply to rectify the mains voltage and an output from the input circuit may be connected to the voltage converter component to provide a rectified input voltage for the voltage converter component. According to the invention, an improved input circuit for a logic circuit part with improved functionality and operating security also permitting an extensive miniaturization and simplified production may be achieved by replacement of at least two of the remaining four diodes in the rectifier part of an input circuit for a logic circuit part by two controllable switches which work as a synchronous rectifier and are connected such as to be switched on and off by alternate forced control.
