  • Patent number: 7869830
Abstract: Generally, an antenna module includes a plurality of monopole antenna elements (e.g., 3 to 4 antenna elements) that can be coupled together by one or more switches to provide for a tunable, wideband antenna module. For example, the switches may change the overall length of the antenna such that the frequency range of the antenna is changed. The frequency response may also be controlled by a low voltage micro sized varicap, or a varactor diode, and instantiated as a tuned, resonant matching filter network residing with the antenna module. Additionally, switches may be used to “switch in” and “switch out” capacitive elements to adjust the bandwidth of the antenna. The resonant matching filter network may then be used for fine tuning the frequency of that bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 7869469
Abstract: A Raman shifter is provided with improved optical efficiency and robustness, particularly for high power applications. In one embodiment, a source system (100) includes a source pump laser (102) and a seed laser (104). Beams from the pump laser (102) and seed laser (104) combine for transmission into a Raman cell (112). Folding optics define a multi-pass pathway through the Raman cell (112). Such folding optics may include an internal reflectance element. An entry window into the Raman cell, an exit window from the Raman cell, and the internal reflectance elements include surfaces disposed at a Brewster angle relative to the incident beam. The Raman cell medium is circulated in a direction transverse to the beam pathways through the cell. In this manner, improved optical efficiency and robustness is achieved as well as improved performance over a significant wavelength band.

  • Patent number: 7870539
Abstract: A knowledge generation machine (KGM) that performs cross-channel dependency resolution is provided. The conventional dependency resolution process often treats irresolvable cross-channel references as an error state, thus ignoring sometimes critical software dependency information. By performing post-processing cross-channel resolution on the dependency model, the KGM can create a robust dependency model that includes dependencies for a software component in multiple segments of information. The dependency model is not restricted to modeling a single segmented space.

  • Patent number: 7869127
Abstract: A method, element and system are provide for efficiently, accurately and without significant contribution of noise, splitting a beam of radiation or combining beams of radiation. In one embodiment of the invention, a beamsplitter front surface partially reflects incident radiation and refracts the rest of the radiation. The refracted radiation is completely reflected at a back surface of the beamsplitter and is completely refracted producing a parallel beam without creating any stray radiation or optical noise. This is accomplished using a p-polarized input beam and a Brewster angle geometry.

  • Patent number: 7865358
Abstract: In connection with a machine-based system for transforming data from a source form to a target form, a tool is provided for sharing information established in developing a transformation model. The shared information may relate to rules for mapping source collection terms to standardized terms, rules for ordering or syntax, rules for classifying terms or other transformation rules. Such information defines a knowledge base for the project. The knowledge base is divided into domains and subdomains that define a hierarchy that includes dependencies and references. These dependencies and references are used for domain management such that any conflicts and inconsistencies can be identified and arbitrated. In this manner, information sharing is accommodated, for example, for efficient knowledge base creation and multi-user functionality.

  • Patent number: 7861486
Abstract: An expansion joint and seal is provided that is adapted for adherence to a wall and floor interface. The joint is operative to seal the interface such that self-leveling materials cannot flow between the wall and the floor. When adhered to the interface, a compressive member may be disposed coincidental to the wall. This compressive member allows for expansion of solidified self-leveling materials relative to the wall. In one arrangement, the joint and seal utilizes a flexible sheet member having a bottom surface that is adapted for adherence to the interface of a wall and floor. A compressible member is attached to the top surface of the flexible sheet member. The bottom surface of the flexible sheet member may also include a peel-away release member that covers an adhesive disposed on the bottom surface.

  • Patent number: 7859942
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for replacing the individual receivers used with a seismic interferometry process with an array of seismic receivers and then manipulating the array data in order to measure and modify the typical non-uniform directionality function of the background seismic energy. The non-uniform directionality function is a significant cause of noise with seismic interferometry. Furthermore, the array of receivers may be used to significantly enhance the preferred reflection energy and damp undesirable near surface energy. The directionality function may be modified by using an array of receivers for the virtual source location of seismic interferometry to measure the non-uniform directionality function, generating multiplication factors, and applying the multiplication factors to convert the measured directionality function into a desired directionality function.
