Abstract: Ear corn is picked from corn fields by ear corn harvesters and transported to a central shelling station associated with an ethanol manufacturing facility. Shelled corn from the central shelling station is processed into ethanol at the ethanol manufacturing facility, and corn cobs from the central shelling station are burned to provide process heat for the ethanol manufacturing process. Energy is conserved and costs are reduced during the picking and shelling of the ear corn and by the burning of cobs for process heat.
Abstract: A chemical vapor deposition (CVD) device is equipped with a reaction vessel tube and a small vessel substrate in an electric furnace and with a heater and a thermocouple at the periphery thereof. A gas supply portion is connected to one of the reaction vessel tubes, and a pressure adjusting valve and an exhaust portion are connected to the other of the reaction vessel tubes, controlled by a control section such that the exhaust portion vacuum-exhausts the reaction vessel tube interior, the heater sublimates the small vessel substrate interior by rising temperature of catalyst iron chloride, and the gas supply portion bleeds an acetylene gas into the reaction vessel tube. As a result, iron chloride and the acetylene gas vapor-phase-react, a silicon oxide surface layer is formed to form growth nucleus of carbon nanotubes, and carbon nanotubes are grown so as to be oriented vertically.

Abstract: A starting material to be extruded made of a high alloy comprising, in mass %, Cr: 20 to 30% and Ni: more than 22% and 60% or less is heated to a temperature predetermined according to the contents of Mo and W and is subjected to a hot-extrusion process, the heating temperature T (° C.) satisfying a relationship of Formula (1), (2), or (3), which is expressed in terms of the average cross-sectional area A (mm2) of the starting material to be extruded, the extrusion ratio EL (?), and the extrusion speed V (mm/s). As a result, a high-alloy seamless tube can be produced without generating cracking and/or seam flaws. Abstract: A method for fabricating an isolation layer in a semiconductor device, comprising: forming a trench in a semiconductor substrate; forming a flowable insulation layer on the trench and the semiconductor substrate; converting the flowable insulation layer to a silicon oxide layer by implementing a curing process comprising continuously heating the flowable insulation layer; and forming an isolation layer by planarizing the silicon oxide layer.
Abstract: The scanning probe microscope applies a sum of an AC voltage (Uac) and a DC voltage (Udc) to its probe. The frequency of the AC voltage (Uac) substantially corresponds to the mechanical oscillation frequency of the probe, but its phase in respect to the mechanical oscillation varies periodically. The phase modulation has a frequency fmod. The microscope measures the frequency (f) or the amplitude (K) of a master signal (S) applied to the probe's actuator, or it measures the phase of the mechanical oscillation of the cantilever in respect to the master signal (S). The spectral component at frequency fmod of the measured signal is fed to a feedback loop controller, which strives to keep it zero by adjusting the DC voltage (Udc), thereby keeping the DC voltage at the contact voltage potential.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a semiconductor device includes forming a hard mask pattern and a spacer at both sides of the hard mask pattern. The method also includes forming a spacer pattern, so that the spacer remains in one direction to form a spacer pattern, forming a photoresist pattern having a pad type overlapping a side of the spacer pattern, and etching an underlying layer, with the photoresist pattern and the spacer pattern as a mask, to form an isolated pattern. The method improves resolution and process margins to obtain a highly-integrated transistor.
Abstract: A method of fabricating a line pattern extending in a first direction in a photoresist layer on a wafer by forming the photoresist layer on the wafer and implementing exposure on the wafer formed with the photoresist layer by using a photomask having a main pattern provided with a plurality of unit patterns slanted by a predetermined angle relative to the first direction and arranged along the first direction.

Abstract: A clamping and/or spreading tool comprises a drive for displacement of a push or pull rod to which a movable jaw is fixed with respect to a support carrying a stationary jaw in longitudinal direction of the push and pull rod, the drive comprising a torsion spring and being adapted to enter torque transmitting engagement with the push or pull rod for displacement of the same.
Abstract: A graphics or image rendering system, such as a map image rendering system, determines a viewing window of a map surface to be displayed, wherein the viewing plane is at an angle of incidence with respect to the map surface. The method generally determines a depth boundary along the map surface where a height projection of a depth increment of a first unit of area is lower than a threshold height increment at a non-zero angle of incidence and at a single zoom level magnification. The method renders the first unit of area within the depth boundary and a second unit of area outside the depth boundary. The first unit of area is rendered at a first density of map data and the second unit of area is rendered at a second density of map data that is lower than the first density of map data.
Abstract: A gas regulator includes an actuator, a regulator valve, and pressure loading device. The pressure loading device provides a pressure load to a surface of a diaphragm of the actuator to act against a downstream pressure being applied to the opposite surface of the diaphragm and being controlled by the regulator. As the downstream pressure varies and the diaphragm displaces to move a control element to regulate the downstream pressure, the pressure loading device maintains a specified load pressure. The regulator may further include a balanced trim applying a balancing force to offset a force of an upstream pressure on the control element.

Abstract: A graphics or image rendering system, such as a map image rendering system, receives image data from an image database in the form of vector data that defines various features of the map, such as roads, boundaries, etc., in addition to text strings or symbols to be displayed with the features to provide, for example, labels for the features. The label positioning technique generally divides the displayed road feature into a number of road segments and then labels each road segment in a sequence based on an ordered set of labels and a position of each road segment.
