  • Patent number: 7681313
Abstract: A method for forming heat exchanger plates (10) comprises formation of a fluid flow channel (28) along the edges (22) of a sheet metal strip or blank, and formation of a pair of raised end bosses. The raised end bosses (32) are elongated in the longitudinal dimension and are formed within the final width dimension of the plate so as to avoid the need for trimming of excess material along the edges of the plate. The method generates less scrap than prior art processes using progressive stamping, and also permits variation of the plate lengths.

  • Patent number: 7677229
Abstract: An oil mist separator has a pressure regulator valve which is located in the blow-by line downstream of the oil mist separator element in the flow direction of the gas. The pressure regulator valve has a bias so that it opens above a specified pressure difference between the blow-by line and a neighboring chamber. Located around the oil mist separator element is a bypass line which has a bypass valve. The bypass valve has a bias that causes the bypass valve to close below a specified pressure difference between the suction side and the pressure side of the oil mist separation element. The pressure regulator valve and the bypass valve are connected with each other so that the pressure regulator valve, as it closes, increases the bias of the bypass valve.

  • Patent number: 7677373
Abstract: A torque converter lock-up clutch may be controlled by a lock-up clutch regulator control valve. The valve is utilized to selectively direct a fluid to the torque converter or to a pressure regulator valve. For example, in a hydrodynamic condition of the torque converter, the valve permits fluid to flow to the torque converter. In a lock-up condition of the torque converter, the valve directs fluid to a pressure regulator valve which selectively permits pressure to build in the torque converter.

  • Patent number: 7673628
Abstract: A guard for protecting a cook or chef from burn injury from accidentally touching a hot oven rack comprising a sleeve of material mounted on the front rail of a metal oven rack. The sleeve is formed of a material having a thermal conductivity that is lower than than the thermal conductivity of the metal oven rack, so that when the guard is accidentally touched, insufficient thermal energy is transferred to an oven user to cause a burn, allowing the oven user to withdraw from the sleeve before injury can result. Preferably, the material forming the sleeve is heat resistant and has a lower thermal mass and thermal conductivity than the metal oven rack.

  • Patent number: 7674321
Abstract: A process for the removal of sour gas from pressurized natural gas which is polluted by sulphur compounds and other sour gas compounds includes initially feeding natural gas into a sour gas absorption unit, in which the sulphur components and any other components are absorbed by a physically acting solution yielding a sour gas rich absorbent. The absorbant is heated and fed into a high-pressure flash unit, in which the desorbed sour-gas is separated yielding a sour gas poor absorbent. The desorbed sour gas is cooled and the vaporized absorbent is condensed out of the sour gas stream. The sour-gas poor absorbent from the high-pressure flash unit is freed from residual sour gas in a gas stripping unit by stripping gas. The absorbent obtained in the sour gas unit is cooled and recycled permitting the desorbed sour gas to be condensed by cooling water or cooling air.
