Abstract: A low friction reel assembly for winding, storing and transporting a length of material, such as garden hose, wherein a pair of concentrically arranged removably secured spaced apart wall sections bridge and extend outwardly radially from a central body to define a channel for confining the length of material wound therein, one end of the material being held in the body, and a handle integral with one wall section which at its center supports the reel for rotation and on its periphery slidably engages the other wall section during its rotation, the engaged wall and body being rotatable relative to the handle in one direction for winding up the length of material and in a reverse direction for unwinding the material.

Abstract: An acromioclavicular support intended to provide sufficient pressure upon an acromioclavicular separation of a patient to permit the separation to heal, wherein the support includes an abdominal belt adapted for wearing around the patient's waist and having front and rear sides, a shoulder pad adapted for seating over the acromioclavicular separation, step connectors on opposed sides of the shoulder pad, a pair of straps one slidebly connected to the front side of the abdominal belt and the other slideably connected to the rear side of the adominal belt, each of said straps extending from said abdominal belt through its respective correcsponding strap connector and having a free end anchored to said abdomial belt spaced apart from its point of slidble onnection to said abdominal betl, each of said straps haing a buckle for tightening amd loosening said strap to apply pressue over said acromioclavicular separation through the shoulder pad.

Abstract: A tiltable mounting bracket for adjustably securing a speaker or other appliance on a wall or ceiling which has two similar plates, one for securing the bracket to the wall or ceiling and the other for securing the speaker or other appliance to the bracket, and a U-shaped member adjustably connecting the plates, each of the plates having a track for adjustably securing the U-shaped member thereon, and means associated with each track for adjustably securing the plates in an adjusted position relative to one another. The invention also includes parallel sets of arcuate and straight portions of the U-shaped member for reinforced adjustable securement of the plates relative to one another, and exit means through the plates permitting wires to pass therethrough.

Abstract: A display package for holding a folded box for audio-visual material having indicia describing the box contents which consists of a transparent envelope, the envelope comprising sheets of plastic material secured together on their edges, one edge being open to permit the folded box to be inserted into and withdrawn from the envelope, one sheet being rigid for holding the envelope upstanding, thereby being a stop seam at one end of the envelope to hold the folded box positioned away from the envelope edge, and a pocket secured to the envelope on its end opposite the stop seam for holding information related to the category of the audio-visual material.

Abstract: A portable yard sign has an upstanding rigid post with a longitudinal slot extending downwardly from its top edge, and a main sign panel having a foldable side edge corresponding to and insertable into the slot for securing the panel to the post. The post on its bottom end may have a ground stake and foot plate assembly for penetration into a soil bed upon application of foot pressure on the plate. The panel remote from its side edge is free of connection to the post and is bendable at the side edge responsive to wind and other pressure against the panel. The slot may be arranged on one side of the post and the post may be triangular in cross-section. The panel side edge is of a width suitable to permit it to be lodged against the post when it is secured in the post slot.

Abstract: A laboratory test kit includes a container packed with an elongated foldable tray. The tray has legs elevating one portion of it to define a specimen receiving surface. The container houses other test paraphernalia, such as an ampule of fixative solution and utensils for taking a specimen and placing it on the tray specimen receiving surface. During specimen taking, the utensils and ampule may be carried on the tray ready and convenient for use. After the specimen is applied to the receiving surface and fixed as required, the tray legs may be bent in reverse direction and the tray may be folded and inserted into the container protecting the specimen for delivery to the laboratory.

Abstract: A portable yard sign adapted for easy storage, transport and assembly, which is simple to install and remove from a soil bed, without special equipment, and which consists of a rigid upright post having a longitudinal slot extending downwardly from its top edge, and a main sign panel having a foldable side edge corresponding to and insertable into the slot for securing the panel to the post, the post having on its bottom end a ground stake and foot plate assembly for penetration into the soil bed upon application of foot pressure thereon. The main panel foldable side edge may be formed by scoring an edge of the panel and cutting tabs along the folded edge, or by connecting a hinged member along an edge of the panel. A modified embodiment of the invention may utilize an inverted L shaped post with the slot for receiving an edge of the sign panel formed in the post leg parallel to the ground and the sign panel hanging from the post leg toward the ground.

Abstract: A unitary bolt face and firing pin device for firearms consisting of a self-adjusting head space block on the front of the bolt assembly facing the chamber in firing alignment with the primer of a cartridge inserted into said chamber, the face of said head space block having integrally formed thereon a firing pin for impacting with said cartridge primer when said bolt assembly is closed against said chamber.

Abstract: A unitary integral electrically heated nozzle device for plastic molding or die casting equipment which has a novel casing integral with a heater core, which is insulated to prevent conduction of electricity and loss of thermal transmission to the casing, the electrical insulation being compacted within the casing and around the heater core and the assembly being sealed and swaged into a unitary form, said device being structured to heat the area of a gate or passage for delivery of molten material into a forming cavity. The nozzle device may be shaped, and the nozzle systems include such nozzle devices in the gate channels for delivering molten material to the forming cavity.

Abstract: A pulsating hearth for an incinerator wherein the hearth is suspended on a fixed frame for movement in a limited short arc to urge random size particles burning in a pile on the hearth in a predetermined path intermittently across the surface of the heart. Movement is imparted to the hearth in periodic pulses preferably by inflating sets of air bags mounted on the frame, which stroke the hearth to move it a short distance from an initial position and jar it against the frame, thus impelling the burning particles a short distance by inertia and concurrently stoking the burning pile upon each stroke, and then returning the hearth to its initial position. The hearth may also have a plurality of nozzles connected to a source of air for delivering gently flowing air to the burning pile on the hearth.

Abstract: A chamber alignment and safety system for firearms consisting of longitudinally extending slide mechanism axially aligned with and pivotally connected to the barrel and bolt housing, said slide mechanism including means for moving said pivotal connections away from one another, whereby the breech may be opened to expose the chamber for loading ammunition therein and for unloading spent cartridges therefrom by separating and rotating the barrel relative to the bolt housing, and a safety device having a rack carried by the bolt assembly and a pinion gear secured in the bolt housing meshed with the rack for driving the bolt assembly into and away from firing alignment with the chamber, said safety device also having trip means connected to a trigger sear for locking and unlocking said sear in triggering position responsive to movement of said rack and gear.

Abstract: A keyboard carrier having a brace and plate assembly attachable over the shoulders and along the belt line of a wearer, which comprises a u-shaped bracket extending from and connected by its legs to the brace and plate assembly, spaced apart arms each secured at its end to one leg of the bracket, a finger at an end of each arm, and a platform supported by the arms and secured to the fingers. The platform is adapted for mounting a keyboard thereon and has a plurality of friction pins extending therethrough arranged for securement to the keyboard. The platform may also have rod means adapted for pivotal securement in cooperating slots arranged in the arms.

Abstract: A device for storing and carrying collapsible hose comprising an enclosure having an aperture therein, a reel rotatable in the enclosure, means for rotating the reel, a fixture on and rotatable with the reel adapted for extension out of the enclosure through the aperture, the fixture having a tongue for gripping the hose intermediate its length to draw up the hose onto and around the reel upon rotation thereof, and a guide on the housing for maintaining the hose in windable position as the hose is drawn around the reel during rotation thereof, said hose being adapted for removal from the device upon rotation of the reel in a direction opposite to its hose winding direction.

Abstract: A device for the purpose of providing computerized direction and control in the process of manually sorting documents. A sorting bin is provided containing compartments into which documents are placed to effect the sort. The sorting bin is contained within a sorting console which also houses a power supply; an indicator and document detector array; a control unit which monitors the document detectors, operates the indicators, and communicates with a computer; and control switches and indicators.An operator sorts documents by depositing them one at a time into a selected compartment of the sorting bin. The control unit, under computer direction, indicates to the operator the correct compartment for depositing each document, by illuminating indicators associated with the proper compartment. Document detectors inform the control unit when a document is deposited in any compartment. When a document is deposited in an incorrect compartment, an alarm alerts the operator.
