  • Patent number: 5329949
Abstract: A radio remote-controlled automatic vehicle wash system is activated by an infrared motion sensor. A hand-held transmitter activates an optional garage door mechanism of the system to open and activate the wash system. Within a controller is housed a micro-controller programmed to process inputs from the garage door, an RF transmitter, a thermistor and an infrared motion sensor. When predetermined specified conditions are met, the controller activates a solenoid valve to allow pressurized water to flow through distribution pipes at each side of the vehicle, and under it. Nozzles connected to the distribution pipes spray water in a high velocity 45.degree. fan-like pattern to remove dirt, salt and debris from the surface of the vehicle and the undercarriage.

  • Patent number: 5319312
Abstract: Apparatus for determining which bulb or bulbs in a string of miniature incandescent light bulbs is burned out. The apparatus includes a socket adaptor with wire contacts at the base thereof for making conductive contact with both circuit contacts in the base of a selected bulb socket in the light circuit. Light emitting diodes are located within the adaptor body between each wire contact and a junction connected to one contact of a battery. The other contact of the battery is connected to both contacts of a female receptacle body. The male plug of the light circuit is inserted into the female receptacle of the socket adaptor, thus placing both ends of the string of bulbs in connective communication with one contact of the battery. The diodes are located in the socket adaptor body so that when either diode lights up, the direction in the light circuit of the inoperative bulb is indicated.

  • Patent number: 5297960
Abstract: An adjustable dual dental impression tray for taking full mouth impressions, and in one form for quadrant impressions of upper and lower teeth simultaneously is disclosed. The tray has an interior section with spaced apart vertical walls adjoined by a mesh cloth extending horizontally between the walls. The walls of the interior section extend rearwardly. Anterior extension sections which comprise spaced apart vertical inner and outer walls which are joined by a mesh cloth extending between the inner surfaces of the walls which are joined at their anterior ends by a flexible connector. The mesh extends between the walls at approximately mid height and the interior section has horizontal slots extending through the walls and forwardly from the rear ends of the walls below the mesh at the mesh of the extensions to move forward to overlap the mesh of the anterior section. This permits the simultaneous taking of dental impressions of the upper and lower teeth.

  • Patent number: 5271653
Abstract: An improved vehicle sun visor of double wall construction is open along its bottom and side edges, and frictionally engages a captive, slidable auxiliary sun shield. The shield can be pulled outwardly from the visor in varying degree at any point along the visor's open bottom and side edges to selectively and precisely block blinding sun glare which bypasses the visor. This enables a vehicle operator to maintain a clear, safer forward view, which will reduce the number of highway accidents caused by sun glare and will significantly increase driver comfort and peace of mind.

  • Patent number: 5084027
Abstract: A dual chamber cover for hyperdermic needles to assure that they may not be reused and to prevent accidental pricking with a used needle. The first chamber serves to cover the needle initially prior to use. The second chamber which is inversely joined along its cylindrical walls to the first chamber has three reservoirs which contain respectively, a first component of a two component resin, a second component of the resin, and fiber filler. The reservoirs are separated by frangible disks. The second chamber is closed at one end and initially closed at the other end by a needle penetrable rubber disk. After a needle has been used, it is inserted through the rubber disk, through the first chamber and the first resin component, the first frangible disk, the second reservoir chamber and second resin component, the second frangible disk, and on into the third reservoir, mixing the resin components and fiber filler together which harden around the needle end to permanently prevent its reuse and accidental pricking.

  • Patent number: 4747215
Abstract: An electronic measuring rule wherein the rule tape is formed integrally with a magnetic recording tape imbedded therein along the longitudinal axis of the tape rule. The recording tape which has spaced indicia signals recorded thereon is molded into a recess along the longitudinal center of a vinyl tape so that the vinyl tape covers the outer edges of the magnetic recording tape and the back thereof. A thin protective resin layer covers the recorded side to protect it from abrasions during use. Visible indicia are printed on both sides of the vinyl tape, top and bottom, on each lateral side so that the tape may be "read" visually in the usual manner from either lateral side, both top and bottom. The recording tape portion of the measuring rule is "read" directly by a pick-up head located within the case adjacent the location where the tape exits the enclosing case.
