Abstract: A semiconductor device having a buried doped layer of semiconductor material and a non-alloyed contact to the buried doped layer. The non-alloyed contact is made ohmic by the presence of an underlying delta-doped monolayer. The semiconductor device is made by placing a stop-etch layer on top of a buried doped layer and forming at least one delta-doped monolayer in either the stop-etch layer or the buried doped layer. Layers of semiconductor material disposed above the stop-etch layer are removed with an etchant to define an active region of the semiconductor device. The stop-etch layer prevents the etchant from removing the delta-doped monolayer. A non-alloyed metal film is then deposited over the delta-doped monolayer to form an ohmic contact to the buried doped layer.

Abstract: A tool for a pressurized refrigeration system having a valve with a removable valve core comprises: a valve assembly having a first opening and a second opening and a shut-off valve, the shut-off valve adapted to close and open a passageway between the first opening and the second opening; a valve adapter coupled to the first opening, wherein the valve adapter is adapted to couple to the valve; and, a shaft assembly coupled to the second opening, the shaft assembly having a shaft adapted to move through the passageway, when the shut-off valve is open, and engage the removable valve core. The removable valve core can be removed, while under pressure, from the valve, by rotating the shaft to extract the removable valve core in a controlled manner.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for combined stuck-fault testing and partial scan delay-fault built-in self testing (BIST). For partial scan delay-fault BIST, the circuit is modeled for breaking all flip-flop feedback cycles in the circuit. A selection of flip-flops to be scanned to break all sequential cycles is determined from an optimal feedback vertex set. A digest, devour and tidy-up (DDT) heuristic can be used on a weighted signed graph formed from an S-graph of the circuit to determine an optimal feedback vertex set. Determined partial scan delay fault BIST hazards can be removed from the circuit by inserting parity flippers to invert selected paths during testing. The same DDT heuristic can be used to determine optimal placement of the parity flippers in the circuit.

Abstract: The case comprises two circular sections comprising a bottom portion that has a readable surface and sidewalls and a top portion that has grooves that mesh with complimentary grooves in the sidewalls of the bottom portion. Holes in the top portion of the case or other gripping means are used to screw the top section into the bottom section closing the space between the Compact Disc and the case and successfully creating a protective cover capable of being played in a Compact Disc, DVD or other optical media reader. The case can be disassembled and the disc easily removed by unscrewing the case and lifting out the disc. There is also no need for a special applicator or for a special instrument to remove the disc.
Abstract: Method and system for representing different types of information on a wide area network in a form suitable for access over an audio interface (12). Audio enabled pages (29) are created to link particular text data, which data can be from the World Wide Web (WWW). The audio enabled pages (29) can be retrieved by an audio web server (16, 18) for interpreting the pages into audio which is displayed at the audio interface (12). Audio input means are created to traverse the links of the audio enable pages (29). A user can use the keypad of the phone (12) or spoken commands to traverse the audio menus. In addition, dynamic audio input means can be created to selectively traverse a database of the WWW information.

Abstract: A method in or relating to piling of e.g. tubular bases which are placed and, possibly, casted within a hole drilled out in earth mass in ground or the like is described. One uses a generally known drilling rig, in which a bit is assigned a drilling hammer, and drills a hold having a depth approximately corresponding to the base pipe. If there exists a need for piling, the drill string is swung aside, away from the hole, after having been pulled up, and one or, possibly, a plurality of piles is/are rammed down with a starting point at the bottom level of the bore hole. In order to drive the pile(s) down, the drilling hammer of the drilling rig is used.
Abstract: A hanger package and display assembly is disclosed that can be used to both package and ship hangers and also display the hangers. With this assembly, the hangers can be displayed in their own packaging in an aesthetically-pleasing manner. In one embodiment, the assembly comprises top and bottom platforms and at least two spaced-apart rods vertically disposed between the platforms. The rods are spaced-apart from each other by a sufficient distance that when a hanger is placed flat on the bottom platform, the rods are situated in the framed-space of the hanger on opposite sides of the central longitudinal axis of the hanger. In this way, the hanger is retained on the bottom platform by the rods. The two rods should be of sufficient height that a plurality of hangers can be stacked and retained by the rods between the top and bottom platforms.
Abstract: Compositions and methods for treating keratin-related conditions and disorders such as straightening and styling hair, treating nail fungal conditions such as onychomycosis, ingrown nails, and hyperkeratotic conditions of the epidermis such as psoriasis, acne, callouses, corns, verruca, particularly plantar warts, and surface lines and blemishes of aging skin by aiding the exfoliation of keratinocytes. The compositions comprise at least one alkanoic acid in aqueous solution.
Abstract: The present invention describes an electrooptical apparatus and method for monitoring cell growth in microbiological culture. The apparatus comprises an electrooptical cell filled up with a cell suspension and having electrodes and two orthogonal optical channels for passing through two light beams, an electrical generating means for supplying an alternating electrical current on said electrodes for inducing an alternating electrical field with predetermined frequency and strength in said electrooptical cell to give rise preferred orientation of the bacterial cells, an optical system for generating signals in response to the optical density changes in both optical channels by turning on and turning off said alternating electrical field, a temperature controlling means of the electrooptical cell, a cell suspension delivery means connected with the electrooptical cell, an electronic unit determining and displaying growth parameters of the bacterial cells.
Abstract: A “through-the-neck” garment hanger is disclosed that may be fabricated with a single component. The hanger has a base portion, first and second slanted side portions, a neck portion, and a hook portion. One of the slanted side portions of the hanger has a free end that is not integrally attached to the rest of the hanger. Thus, a door may be formed between the slanted side portions whereby the hanger may be easily inserted through the neck of a garment.
