  • Patent number: 7063128
Abstract: A drum type heat exchanger for effectively ventilating and purifying room air of a factory, a building or a house and the like is described. The drum type heat exchanger has heat transfer means with a drum shape and thus an entire size is reduced as much as possible and become compact, such that a handling and an installation is easy, a thermal efficiency to an installation space of the heat transfer means is maximized, and overall maintenance and repair such as a check or exchange of the heat transfer means are easy. Additionally, the drum type heat exchanger uses a drum with a short radius of rotation so that an entire operation cycle time is shortened and a heat transfer area is sufficiently secured in order to keep the thermal efficiency high.

  • Patent number: 7058691
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for providing Web content from pull and push based services running on Web content providers to mobile users. A proxy gateway connects the mobile users to the Web content providers. A prefetching module is used at the proxy gateway to optimize performance of the pull services by reducing average access latency. The average access latency can be reduced by using at least three factors: one related to the frequency of access to the pull content; second, the update cycle of the pull content determined by the Web content providers; and third, the response delay for fetching pull content from the content provider to the proxy gateway. Pull content, such as documents, having the greatest average access latency are sorted and a predetermined number of the documents are prefetched into the cache. Push services are optimized by iteratively estimating a state of each of the mobile users to determine relevant push content to be forward to the mobile user.

  • Patent number: 7053034
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel controlled release carrier system for pH or salt triggered release and targeted delivery of fragrances and other active ingredients onto fabric, hair, skin, and other biological surfaces and which provides prolonged release of fragrances and other active ingredients over an extended period of time, or yields a high impact fragrance “burst” upon treating the target surface with heat (blow drying the hair, ironing the fabric). The controlled delivery system of the present invention is substantially a free-flowing powder formed of solid hydrophobic nano-spheres comprising the fragrance and other active ingredients that are encapsulated in a pH or salt sensitive micro-spheres. Also described are processes for preparing such compositions and processes for using same.

  • Patent number: 7038079
Abstract: A method is disclosed which produces acrylic acid in a high yield as maintaining the conditions for purifying acrylic acid in constant ranges and preventing the acrylic acid from polymerization. By using a reactor which has first reaction zone and second reaction zone formed of different reaction tubes, propylene concentration adjusting in the range of 7–15 vol. % and water concentration adjusting in the range of 0–10 vol. % are introduced thereto thereby obtaining an acrylic acid-containing gas. Then the gas is introduced to an acrylic acid absorption column to adjust water concentration in the range of 1–45 wt. %, thereby preventing from polymerization.

  • Patent number: 7025594
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for increasing the cognitive function in a fetus. The system transmits a pattern of sonic variations to the fetus. The pattern of sonic variations is formed of a plurality of sequences of tones in which each sequence is repeated at a predetermined tempo. Each sequence of tones is selected to be transmitted to the fetus at a predetermined time during the term of the pregnancy. Preferably, each subsequent sequence of tones is selected to be repeated at increasing tempo during the term of the pregnancy, thereby providing a progressive pattern of sonic variations. A similar system and method can be used for improving the cognitive function of a premature baby. In addition, the present invention relates to a system and method for altering the cognitive function in a postnatal human by transmitting aurally or through bone conduction a progressive pattern of sonic variations or a regressive pattern of sonic variations to the wearer of the system.

  • Patent number: 7011037
Abstract: A device and method of making a device for indicating a change in condition is disclosed. A first embodiment is a device for indicating a transition from a frozen condition to a thawed condition is disclosed. The device includes a housing and a capsule. A first reactant and a liquid are included within the capsule. The liquid is chosen such that it expands upon freezing. The capsule is sized such that when the liquid freezes and expands, the capsule fractures. A second reactant is provided within the housing. The location of the second reactant and the method of attaching (if any) the second reactant to the housing may take various forms. When the liquid within the capsule freezes, it expands and fractures the capsule. Upon thawing, the reactant within the capsule escapes and mixes with the reactant located outside the capsule. A second embodiment is a time-temperature indicator. A flexible housing is used, allowing the user to manually deform the housing to fracture a capsule enclosed therein.
