Abstract: A means and a process for protecting an electric circuit from ambient influences, the circuit being surrounded with a thermoplastic polymer which is applied by injection molding, the thermoplastic polymer comprising oriented macromolecules. The components of the circuit are aligned with their axis most sensitive to alternating tensile loading on average parallel to the respective direction of flow of the injected polymer in the vicinity of the components.
Abstract: The invention proposes an emergency call system for a motor vehicle for automatically transmitting an emergency call to an external receiving station. The motor vehicle has measuring means, for example in the form of a radar system (6), for determining the relative speed and the distance of the vehicle in relation to another vehicle or an obstacle. If the current relative speed exceeds a predetermined limit value for a given distance, it is assumed that a collision is unavoidable, and an emergency call by a transmitter (3) provided in the motor vehicle is activated. Advantageously, the vehicle position, ascertained by means of a navigation system (4), is transmitted to the receiving station with the emergency call. The invention also provides for the emergency call system to be connected to further sensors (6), suitable for detecting a collision, so that the emergency call can be revoked if an actual collision is not reported by such a sensor within a predetermined time period.
Abstract: An improved tuning method is used in conjunction with a set of nested electrically conducting cones to increase the frequency band over which the resulting radiating system functions as an electrically small antenna with controlled variation in input impedance. This technique enables switching of the frequency band by means of simple circuits that can be activated by a control voltage.
Abstract: The present invention relates to method and apparatus for extracting water from atmospheric air. The method according to an embodiment of the invention does not depend on day and night temperature differentials and can operate at lower temperatures than were possible before. The present invention makes it possible to extract water vapors from the atmospheric air in relatively simple, inexpensive industrial plants or in smaller portable devices.
Abstract: In an electric motor, through which fuel flows, an armature core bundle of a rotor has a hose-like casing. This hose-like casing is manufactured from a fuel-resistant material and protects the armature core bundle against corrosion. An unbalance in the rotor due to the hose shape of the casing is kept particularly low.
Abstract: A drain pipe support advantageously acts as a guide for insertion of a drain pipe and secures the drain pipe in a desired position for draining of a fluid filled tank. Additionally the drain pipe support also advantageously guides fluid into the drain pipe so that efficient draining may be accomplished. The drain pipe support is comprised of an interior hollow portion which includes a tapered central portion 34 at a lower end thereof in order to guide the drain pipe and form a seal between the drain pipe and the drain pipe support. The drain pipe support advantageously has a hollow body which includes a support member that extends from the upper sides of an outer wall of the body. The support member is desirably formed in a substantially uniform circumference around the body of the drain pipe support.
Abstract: A regulator for heating and air-conditioning appliances in motor vehicles, having a suction fan which is driven by an electrically commutated DC motor and in whose induction air flow a temperature measurement sensor is arranged. A disturbance in motor running which may lead to an incorrect temperature measurement is detected at an early stage by providing measurement means which, in two time intervals, determine measurements that are proportional to the frequency of the motor voltage, and compare these measurements with one another.
Abstract: A learning system is disclosed which allows student interaction and student creation of a composition. The system has a series of multi-media interactive booths which are grouped in stations with different themes related to a general subject. Each booth has a number of multi-media based lessons relating to the theme of the station. Students are supplied with a control box which may be carried by the student as they move from booth to booth. The control box allows a student to play a musical composition. The musical composition is stored by a central computer and uniquely assigned to a database record associated with the specific control box. The central computer also keeps track of the number of booths and lessons which have been completed by the specific control box. Each booth has a number of specific programs which teach students by interactive input.
Abstract: A plug neck for a filler neck of a motor vehicle has exchanging means for refueling-venting adaptation to different refueling devices. In the case of a refueling device which removes gases from a refueling channel by suction, a compensation chamber is connected permanently to the refueling channel via a connecting channel. For adaptation to a refueling device without suction removal, the connecting channel is closed and the vent valve is provided with a cap which has a connection neck for a line leading to an activated carbon filter. This allows tool costs for producing the plug neck to be kept particularly low.
Abstract: To monitor adequate oil lubrication of an internal combustion engine, air bubbles in the oil flow are detected by means of a sensor arranged in an oil line of a pressure circulation lubrication system and connected to an electronic evaluation system. These air bubbles are an early indicator of inadequate lubrication of the internal combustion engine.

Abstract: A fuel tank (1) has an ejector pump (9) arranged inside it. This ejector pump (9) is preloaded against an inner wall (10) of the fuel tank (1) by means of a flexurally elastic supporting arm (8) and is thus fixed. This allows the ejector pump (9) to be inserted into the interior of the fuel tank (1) without problems through an opening (3) together with a fuel feed unit (4). This considerably simplifies the fitting of the ejector pump (9) and, in particular, there is no need for another fitting opening in the fuel tank (1) to enable the ejector pump (9) to be fixed.
Abstract: An athletic training device having at least a base, a pad assembly and biasing members is adapted to permit primary rotation and translation, as well as secondary rotation of the pad assembly. Primary movement may be triggered by an operator to assist in developing faster player reaction times, while the secondary movement is permitted to assist players in developing techniques involved in engaging an opposing player.
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for separating and purifying multi-curie quantities 90Y of sufficient chemical and radiochemical purity suitable for use in medical applications without a series of 90Sr selective extraction chromatographic columns while minimizing loss of radioactive 90Sr parent and waste stream.
