  • Patent number: 4610365
Abstract: Hoisting arrangement having a boom or a crane with two separately driven hoist wires each with its individual cargo hook. The cargo hooks along with the hoist wires are used for various lifting operations. The hoist wires and a topping wire are operated by their respective winches. The hoist wires are connected via their winches to a common power supply system via a selection valve whereby a constant tension is exerted on the hoist wire. The winches are adapted to pay out hoist wire if the pull in the hoist wire exceeds this constant tension and to draw in hoist wire if the pull falls below the constant tension.

  • Patent number: 4601688
Abstract: An apparatus for producing envelope blanks has means for advancing a continuous web of paper along a horizontal path, two sets of rotatable cutter blades are located one on each side of the path of travel of the web. The blades are operable to cut out portions from each side of the web. The blades on each side of the said path being located on a common shaft. Each set of cutter blades comprises at least three cutter blades. Each blade is located on a cutter bracket mounted on the shaft so that the angular position of the blade on the shaft is adjustable through 360.degree.. Each blade in each set is located opposite a similar blade in the other set to form a matching pair and the cutting profiles of the blades in each set are different and including a cutting point in each blade. The positions of the common shafts are also adjustable so that the sets of cutter blades are movable towards each other or away from each other as desired.

  • Patent number: 4602215
Abstract: In a surface layer of a massif or in a control medium brought in contact with the massif an electromagnetic field is established, and series of amplitudes of the field magnetic component or series of other electromagnetic field parameters are periodically measured, the parameters being a function of the electromagnetic parameters of the medium being irradiated. The measurements are made in a circle of up to 5 m radius with a center in a profile point, whereafter the results of measurements made in different times are compared and the contemporary geodynamic movements are evaluated from the variation of a characteristic of an azimuth anisotropy of the electromagnetic parameter of the medium being irradiated. From the nature of the variations of the characteristic there is determined a type of rock deformation associated with the contemporary geodynamic movements, and from the speed of these variations there is determined the intensity of the contemporary geodynamic movements.

  • Patent number: 4600803
Abstract: The invention relates to a screw joint of plastic for leading-in, leading-through, sealing and pull-relieving cables, lines or other thread-like elements (cable screw joint) comprising an intermediate connection piece with a sealing body inserted therein, and a box nut. The intermediate connection piece is provided with clamping tongues formed integrally therewith and extending coaxially thereto, which clamping tongues retain between them the mounted cable. The arrangement of the clamping tongues is such that when the box nut is turned at least one, preferably more clamping tongues distributed evenly over the circumference are urged inwardly in a selective manner and out of the remaining annular clamping tongue arrangement to exert upon the cable, preferably through the interposed packing, a deforming pressure providing positive protection against torsion of the cable relative to the cable screw joint.
