  • Patent number: 7541192
Abstract: A process is provided for distinguishing between wet from dry gas with a breath alcohol measuring device, in which a defined sample volume from a gas blown in is fed for sampling to an electrochemical sensor (6), which generates a sensor signal that depends on the reaction of ethyl alcohol. The sensor signal is sent to a control and evaluating unit (4) and is evaluated there to determine the alcohol concentration. To distinguish dry gas from wet gas, provisions are made for the sensor signal to be detected in its time dependence and for the presence of wet gas to be determined when it is observed that a sensor signal of a polarity opposite the polarity of the sensor signal caused by the reaction of ethyl alcohol appeared at first at the beginning of sampling. The process may be used, e.g., in conjunction with the calibration of breath alcohol measuring devices or in so-called interlock systems with a breath alcohol measuring device in order to recognize attempts at manipulation.

  • Patent number: 7541805
Abstract: A magnetic characteristics measurement system includes a superconducting quantum interference device which detects a magnetization of a sample located in the vicinity of a superconducting pickup coil and outputs an electrical signal representing the magnetization. A coil is disposed to surround the superconducting pickup coil and is connected to an AC power supply so as to generate an alternating magnetic field. The AC signal output from the superconducting quantum interference device is sampled by use of an A/D converter which is operable in an audio frequency range and outputs a digital signal corresponding to the AC signal. Phase adjustment is performed so as to optimally correct a time shift of the digital signal in relation to a reference voltage signal. The phase-adjusted signal is subjected to Fourier transformation processing so as to detect harmonic components as magnetic characteristics.

  • Patent number: 7540375
Abstract: A roller conveyor installation (1) includes a curved roller conveyor (2) for conveying piece goods, optionally from a first conveying strip to a second conveying strip oriented in a different direction. The first and second conveying strips are roller conveyors (3, 4) with driven rollers (9) that extend at an angle to the conveying strip. The curved roller conveyor (2) includes, at an angle to the conveying strip, radially extending, spaced-apart individual rollers (5) that are driven by a common revolving driving belt. A revolving driving belt is configured as a V-belt (6) which is guided in coaxial drive rollers (13) or coaxial peripheral sections of the individual rollers (5) both at the upper end in the V-belt upper strand (6a) and at the bottom end in the V-belt lower strand (6b) in the same V-belt guide. The V-belt (6) is held in the V-belt guide from above in the V-belt upper strand (6a) and from below in the V-belt lower strand (6b) by floating upper or lower press rollers (14).

  • Patent number: 7541553
Abstract: An actuating device is provided for a technical system, especially for selecting gears of a shift-by-wire speed-change gear. This includes a push button arrangement with at least one push button (1) as well as a device (4) generating electrical control signals for transmission to the technical system. The actuating device has a separately controllable blocking device (2, 3), each associated with at least one push button or all push buttons of the actuating device. The blocking device (2, 3) mechanically blocks the particular push button (1) and can be driven by auxiliary energy. This provides an unambiguous tactile feedback on the state of the system or the admissibility of the shifting operation when the push buttons are pressed. Hazards that arise from unrecognized states of the system, inadmissible shift commands or operating errors, defects on the system or non-functioning signal transmission between the actuating device and the system are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 7525274
Abstract: A method and a system for controlling a plurality of manipulators with a large number of control units associated with the manipulators in such a way that each control unit controls at least one manipulator, are characterized in that an operating device accesses several control units for controlling the manipulators. Thus, it is possible according to the invention to operate even very closely juxtaposed manipulators without any crossing and interlacing of the connecting channels between the operating devices and control units which would prevent a reliable association in operation. The invention also makes it possible for only one operator to operate cooperating robots.

  • Patent number: 7520473
Abstract: A device (1) is proposed for guiding elongated, flexible elements (2) along parts (6.1, 6.2) of a machine (6) movable relative to one another. The flexible elements (2) can e.g. be power supply cables bunched in a hose for a tool of a multiaxial industrial robot (6), which are guided along the axes of the latter. A device (1) according to the invention is characterized by a sheet blank (1.1) located on the surface of a machine part (6.1) for creating a fixing face (1.1g) for machine attachment (7) spaced from said surface. At least one flexible element (2) is held and guided in a gap 1.1d) between the surface and the fixing face (1.1g). As a result of the thus created, layered or superimposed arrangement of machine attachments (7) and flexible elements (2) guided on the machine space conflict between the same is avoided.
