  • Patent number: 7216999
Abstract: A chemiluminescent lighting device having a flexible casing surrounding the source of light. A separate transparent, translucent or opaque sleeve is placed about the casing to improve the gripping and the aesthetic feel of the device while passing the light. The sleeve may be in the form of a spiral or net exposing portions of the casing. The sleeve may include colored polymers to produce multi-colored effects. The sleeve may also include fluorescers to retain intensity and/or change colors. The lighting device enhances the visual appeal of novelty items such as necklaces and bracelets, and provides a tactile grip when used as a hand-held illumination device.

  • Patent number: 7155770
Abstract: A tool for removing ice, snow and other debris from a vehicle or other surface has an extension handle with telescoping ends. On one end of the handle there is an oblong head carrying a broom on one surface and a squeegee on the opposite surface. The head is rotatably mounted on the handle to provide both a linear cleaning motion and an arcuate motion. On the other end of the handle is a bifurcated extension carrying a scraper and a toothed cutter.

  • Patent number: 7101235
Abstract: The instant invention relates to a sound suppressor and directional control system for use with a boat hull propelled by a rearward directed jet of air, e.g. an air-boat. The device includes a propeller shroud and a aft fairing each having a layer of acoustic material to reduce sound generated by the rotating propeller. The construction of the device also provides increased maneuverability, stopping and reverse to pre-existing as well new air-boats by providing operator controlled vector thrusts.

  • Patent number: 7017933
Abstract: A lighted guide assembly for boat trailers used in centering a boat on a trailer during the loading and unloading process. The lighted guide post assembly provides running and braking lights for the trailer that can be seen from the rear of the boat trailer despite the height or length of a trailered boat. The lighted boat guide post assembly has first and second uprights each formed from a partially or substantially transparent tube with directional lights placed therein. The lighted boat guide post is electrically coupled to the boat trailer towing vehicle and provides lighting that extends from the trailer frame to the top of each guide post.

  • Patent number: 6945693
Abstract: A cooking thermometer having an audible alarm includes a skewer having a segment of a shape memory alloy wire disposed therein. The upper end of the shape memory allow wire is secured to a connecting rod which is operatively associated with a cam assembly. When the skewer and hence the shape memory alloy wire is heated, the shape memory alloy commences a phase transformation from martensite to austenite and contracts. The cam assembly serves to translate the up and down motion of the connecting rod into rotational motion which is transmitted through a spur gear assembly to a pivoting pointer positionable over a temperature indicia plate. A helical spring assembly is positioned on the top of the connecting rod which exerts stress on the connecting rod and shape memory alloy wire during the phase transformation to extend the temperature transformation range and improve and optimize the linearity of the transition.

  • Patent number: 6901768
Abstract: A self-contained apparatus for maintaining perishable produce in a controlled environment has a novel air vent and damper system to provide optimal airflow within the apparatus to maintain and ripen perishable produce. An arrangement of seals within insulated compartments cooperate with the physical dimensions of palletized produce inserted therein to direct air flow therethrough to achieve optimal air flow characteristics. The air vent and damper system of the invention allows the apparatus to operate at peak efficiency regardless of the number of pallets present in the apparatus. The apparatus also includes a horizontal push back cart system which does not interfere with the seal arrangement by using an elastic biasing means instead of prior art gravity feed methods. The self-contained apparatus can be used as a modular unit, and encompasses all the equipment necessary for installation while offering temperature stability, simplified maintenance requirements, and ultimately, precise control of ripening.

  • Patent number: 6886561
Abstract: A respiratory valve apparatus with a housing having a upper entry port and an opposite endotracheal tube connection port, along with a resuscitation bag connection port and an respirator connection port. The housing has an inner chamber. A reciprocating valve assembly fits within a chamber and slides between two positions whereby the entry, endotracheal, and respirator ports are open in one position, and the entry, endotracheal, and resuscitation ports are open in the second position. The valve assembly is a component of a surgical kit including a resuscitation bag, an endotracheal tube, and a suction catheter. A guide fixture can be attached to the entry port to help steer a catheter through the apparatus. An elongated protective bag can be sealably attached around the catheter to prevent external contact with the catheter surfaces when it is withdrawn.
