Abstract: A bending apparatus for long workpieces, especially tubes, to form a curved section extending between two bend end points (A, B) on the tube wherein the curved section is located about a center bend point X, distanced from a reference position (P) by a predetermined distance (L) extending along a tube, wherein the bending apparatus includes a bending segment rotatable about a pivotal axis so that the tube is positioned on a semicircular scale with a starting zero point of 0° to mark the start of the curved section at one of the bend end points (A, B), which point is designated as a bending-start point, characterized, in that the apparatus has a bend length-selector having at least one measurement edge the measurement edge aligning with the center bend point (X) to automatically place the tube at the bending-start point and at the 0° mark of the bending segment upon the placement of the tube in the bending apparatus.
Abstract: A computerized apparatus and method for detecting unauthorized activity in a protected area in real-time using a fiber optic cable having an optical sensor line, a fiber scanning unit, and a computer. Detecting unauthorized activity is done by scanning the sensor line using the scanning unit to obtain repetitive scan signals representing the state of the sensor line, receiving scan signals at the computer, processing the scan signals to determine an initial baseline representing the normal state of the sensor line, storing the baseline, continuously monitoring the sensor line using the scan signals received in real-time by the computer, comparing the scan signal to the baseline, determining if a fault has occurred based on an predetermined attenuation change in one or more of the scan signals as compared to the baseline, generating a fault signal, and providing a warning of a fault in response to the fault signal.
Abstract: An entrance denial security system for detecting a fault condition at one or more entrances into a secured area representing unauthorized activity and an attempt to gain entry through the entrance. The system comprising an entrance barrier closing an entrance into a secured area; the barrier including a plurality of hollow structural elements having hollow cores forming a rigid integral barrier; an optical fiber sensor line laced through the hollow cores of the structural elements of the gate for detecting the fault condition; a processor in communication with the fiber sensor line for generating a fault signal in response to the occurrence of a fault condition and identifying the entrance where the fault condition occurred; and a communication device operatively associated with the processor for communicating the fault signal so that a proper security response can be made to the fault condition.

Abstract: An advanced primary nurse care system and process is disclosed which is client-driven for processing a number of clients in a timely manner with enhanced healthcare outcomes. The system and process are sized to provide an optimum patient flow and healthcare. The system includes a computer network having a central system computer. A computer program resides on the system computer for creating a real-time client record as the client proceeds through the system and process. There is a client station connected in the computer network where the client record is initially created and accessed on subsequent visits using a unique client ID code. A client station display monitor displays medical questions regarding the client's health state whereupon the client inputs responses to the questions into the client record. A nurse station is connected in the computer network for receiving the client in the healthcare flow for collecting vital signs and other laboratory information.
Abstract: A trolling system for mounting a plurality of fishing rods to extend from selected peripheral sides of a boat. The system includes a pair of mounting members attached to the deck and mounting rods extending parallel or transverse opposing sides of the boat. A trolling bar, which is secured with the mounting rods and rod supports in spaced positions. In use, fishing rods are mounted in the rod supports and extend from the stern of the boat.
Abstract: A sensor for a security system is disclosed to detect intrusions at one or more predetermined locations wherein each location includes a moveable member which must be moved in order to intrude the location. The system includes a fiber network routed in close proximity to one or more locations. The sensor comprises a sensor housing for being disposed at a location to detect a predetermined movement of the moveable member from a secure position to an unsecured position, and means for mounting the sensor housing in a stationary position at the location without a physical connection to the moveable member. The sensor housing includes a fiber inlet and a fiber outlet, and a fiber chamber for receiving a predetermined sensor fiber of the fiber network being routed through the sensor housing.

Abstract: A high-profile air sleep system having a pair of air posturizing sleep surfaces which may be individually inclined and air adjusted comprises an air posturing module having an outer module mattress case. A first case section extends medially along a length of said mattress case to define a first movable posturing section, and a second case section extends along a length of said mattress case to define a second movable posturing section. A third fixed module case section is included in said mattress case below the first and second posturing sections. A first air chamber is carried in the first and third case sections, and a second air chamber is carried in the second and third module sections to provide first and second posturizing module sections with individually elevatable posturizing sleep surfaces.
Abstract: A teaching system comprising a set of magnetic playing pieces, a display mitt comprising a first panel being associated with the palm of a user of the mitt; including a flexible metallic layer for attracting at least one magnet, an exterior layer covering the flexible layer of the first panel; a second panel associated with the back of a hand of a user of the mitt; a hand space formed between the first and second panels for receiving at least a portion of a hand of a person so as to provide a firm display surface on at least one of the first and second panels; and a hand entrance opening providing access to the hand space so that the mitt may by worn and taken off; whereby the first and second panels form a wearable mitt that can receive the magnetic playing pieces associated with teaching or playing games.

Abstract: A flexible package for displaying, accessing and transporting dry goods which includes an upper member, a lower member and four side members inter-engaged along adjacent edges forming an inner area. An opening is formed in one of the forming members allowing access to the inner area of the package. A flexible patch having a pair of generally parallel spaced openings forming a strip there between is secured to the one forming member with the strip positioned over and covering the opening. The package is constructed to display the goods stored in the inner area, to allow access to the inner area through the opening for ascertaining the texture of the goods and to provide ease of transport by utilization of the strip as a carrying handle.
Abstract: The invention is a system and method for managing a plurality of areas of interest of a golf course. The system comprises a plurality of subsurface aeration subsystems and a programmable master control module. Each subsystem provides to a specific area at least one of air under pressure and a partial vacuum. In each area of interest, a local control module is responsive to a directive and to a datum (environmental or operational parameter). The local control module is configured to operate the subsystem and is in communication with the programmable master control module. The programmable master control module receives from the local control modules area information representing a status of the respective specific area to which the local control module is dedicated, and in response to the area information and to a command, the programmable master control module issues a directive to the local control module to operate the subsurface aeration subsystem.
Abstract: A connector assembly is disclosed for interconnecting high speed data transmission cables across an interface panel to an external circuit.
