Abstract: A tongueless type seat belt having a grip which is slidably affixed to the belt to protect the hand of the user when pulling out the belt, to prevent any twisting of the belt, and to be readily locked and unlocked with a tongueless buckle with a one-touch operation. On one end the belt is fixed to a portion of the car, and at the other end it is wound up in a retractor. In the intermediate portion of the belt there is a belt grip for mating with a tongueless buckle. The belt grip is slidable in the lengthwise direction of the belt and encloses the belt. The belt is made so that the front and back surfaces are readily distinguishable from each other.
Abstract: Disclosed is a simplified structure of a toy phonograph in which the output shaft of a motor is selectively put into engagement with the rim of a record disc to drive the latter. A tone arm is provided above the record disc, so that the record disc may be contacted by a stylus carried by the tone arm, when moved axially by the output shaft of the motor brought into driving engagement therewith. The motor is biased for pivotal movement into engagement with the record disc, by means of springs which are retained by terminals of the motor. The springs are made of a conductive and resilient material, for playing a role of lead wire for supplying the motor with power. The springs include a plus side and a minus side springs, one of which is adapted to be separated from the associated motor terminal in the course of the pivotal movement of the motor, to serve as a source switch.
Abstract: A sealing structure including a packing for sealing a sliding part of a valve, such as a rotary or reciprocating valve. The sealing structure is used for connecting together devices having a pressure differential between them and in particular for devices conveying powder particles. The packing of the sealing structure is formed by jointing together a member having a solid lubricating property and a member of substantial mechanical strength.
Abstract: An improved small electric motor for use as a power source for toys, small electric instruments, and portable electric instruments, and a method for manufacturing rotors for such motor. The small electric motor is provided on a rotary shaft with a commutator provided in parallel and feeder brushes in resilient contact with the commutator. The commutator is fitted to the rotary shaft in a manner providing simplicity of assembly, adjustable positioning of the commutator on the rotary shaft, standardization of a magnet case, and favorable performance in the small motor.
Abstract: A mechanism for automatically returning a tone arm of a toy phonograph from the final to the starting positions of a reproduction. A swingable rod is provided for lifting an intermediate sound transmitting body which usually depresses the tone arm, when the tone arm has been brought to the final position of the reproduction, so as to allow the reproducing needle carried by the tone arm to be disengaged from the recording groove, thereby enabling the tone arm to return. The upward movement of the swingable rod is initiated by an engagement of the rod with a cam contour formed on the drive shaft for the record disc. In order that the swingable rod may correctly ride on the cam contour, so as to be lifted by the latter to make the tone arm free from the depressing force of the intermediate sound transmitting body, there is provided a buffer resilient body adapted to absorb the movement of the swingable rod and the movement of the tone arm which presses the rod toward the cam.
Abstract: A tabulation control system including a tab position memory shift register for memorizing tab-set position signals representing summed up values from the first position in a range in which tab setting operations are possible. A buffer register is connected to receive tab-set position signals in response to shift signals according to tab commands, a printing head position counter for counting the total and number of shifts of a printing head from the first position is provided. Also provided is coincidence detector which compares the output from the buffer register with the output of the counter and stops the printing head when these outputs coincide with each other.
Abstract: A stereo-viewer and a stereo-sheet for use therewith, includes a set of oculars disposed in a horizontal plane in a case and separated from each other by the distance between the eyes of the user. The case has an insertion slot for accommodating the stereo-sheet which passes in the vertical direction through the case. A frame feeding device is connected to the case for moving the stereo-sheet in the vertical direction. No elements are required to change the direction of the path of the light in a vertical direction.
Abstract: A maintenance-free anodized aluminum post having longitudinal grooves therein for mating with complementary brackets. The post is hollow and has a constant wall thickness. Each groove has a curved portion and a flat portion. The brackets may be moved in the grooves adjustably, and may be locked to the post without causing any deformation of the post or bracket.
Abstract: A ball warming apparatus adapted to completely and effectively heat a cold ball, particularly a bowling ball, to a desirable room temperature. The apparatus may be adapted for selective stationary positioning within a bowling alley for coin-operation, or for selective portable use as a bowling ball bag. The inner wall of the appratus is adapted to closely encompass a bowling ball and to substantially heat the entire peripheral surface of the ball.
Abstract: A processing device capable of starting the sequence of the speed change operations automatically in the gearbox of a vehicle, such as the automatic transmission of a truck. A first comparator (302) compares the data received from a gearbox condition detecting device (500) and that received from a speed ratio selection device (200). In the event of a difference, the comparator (302) sends to a gearbox control device (400) either a pulse for increasing by one speed ratio, or a pulse for decreasing by one speed ratio.
Abstract: A power plant for prime mover-equipped bicycles wherein a bicycle running and engine running can be changed over to each other. The running speed can be changed over to a low speed and high speed. The power transmitting system, including the speed changing mechanism, can be made simple and compact in structure, and a jointless change having no neutral position in the speed changing operation is possible. It is further possible to feed and interrupt the fuel and to switch the current source on and off with the jointless change.
Abstract: An automobile service and inspection time indicating device wherein the members for performing the resetting operation are recessed from the surface of the outer plate of the meter case to avoid inadvertent operation of the resetting mechanism. The indicating elements can be positively seen during the daytime or at night.
Abstract: A throttle grip locking device for a motorcycle. A rotary throttle grip has a locking member disengagably engaged with an engaging member to prevent rotation of said throttle grip when the motorcycle engine is not operating.
Abstract: Products having as an essential ingredient thereof a special seaweed known as eel grass. Such seaweed has been found to surprisingly constitute a flame-retardant, vermin-proof, sound-proof, rot-proof, weather-proof, and bug-proof material. Such seaweed is also very beneficial as a soil conditioner and fertilizer. The novel products including such eel grass include a blanket-type material, a board-like sheet material, a spray-type composition, a paint-type composition, and as a filler for cavities in building walls.
Abstract: A fluid power system comprising a steam generator connected to a hydraulic pumping device for delivering steam under pressure to the device for driving the same, while steam is returned to the steam generator via a condenser. The hydraulic pumping device is connected by means of suitable conduits to a plurality of hydraulic motors for driving the same and the conduits include valving means for controlling the direction of fluid between the hydraulic pumping device and the hydraulic motors and returning fluid to a reservoir from which fluid is initially drawn by the hydraulic pumping device. The hydraulic motors provide a rotary output for driving the wheels of a vehicle on which the fluid power system is used. The system further comprises valve means for controlling the pressure at which the system operates.
