  • Patent number: 6348790
Abstract: A leadless motor rotation detector apparatus for determining the direction of shaft rotation of a motor providing a fluctuating magnetic field when rotating includes: at least two sensors separated a predetermined distance from one another. Each sensor senses the magnetic field and generates a corresponding sensor signal having an amplitude and phase associated with said sensed magnetic field. A processor is responsive to the sensor signals, and compares temporal aspects associated with the relative phase of each of the sensor signals to determine a leading or lagging signal. The leading or lagging signal is associated with a corresponding one of the at least two sensors and is indicative of the direction of motor rotation.

  • Patent number: 6243884
Abstract: A toilet seat assembly comprising a seat for permitting a user to sit over a toilet bowl of a toilet apparatus and a hinge pivotally attaching the seat to the toilet apparatus so that the user can manually pivot the seat relative to the toilet bowl between a vertical-upright position and a horizontal-down position. The hinge has a lock which automatically engages when the seat is manually pivoted into the vertical-upright position to prevent the seat from inadvertently pivoting back to the horizontal-down position. The toilet seat assembly can be further provided with a lid for selectively covering the toilet seat. The hinge lock can be adapted to automatically engage when the lid is manually pivoted into the vertical-upright position to prevent the lid from inadvertently pivoting back to the horizontal-down position.

  • Patent number: 6203282
Abstract: A method to control stops of an intermittently operating electric motor that drives a submersible pump arranged in a pump station for sewage water, wherein starts and stops of the motor depend on the water level in the pump station or on any other electric parameter possible to measure, and where a stop of the motor is initiated when the water level has gone down to the upper part of the motor. The method involves the steps of selecting intervals for pumping down to a level below that of the upper part of the motor where the pump starts sucking air, and pumping down to the lower level at each of the selected intervals until the pump starts sucking air.
