Abstract: The invention relates to a blower apparatus with an electric motor, which drives a blower wheel, is arranged in a motor housing and has a commutator with at least two brushes, which form in each case an associated brush bearing face with respect to the commutator, wherein a cooling air flow for cooling the electric motor is diverted into a cooling air channel of the motor housing by a blower air flow produced by the blower wheel. The invention is based on the object of designing the motor cooling system of the blower apparatus of the generic type in such a way that it is more efficient. The object is achieved by virtue of the fact that the cooling air channel has an air distributor, which splits the cooling air flow into at least two cooling air subflows, which are in each case supplied to one of the brush bearing faces directly and in targeted fashion.

Abstract: Laser systems and methods for providing an output light beam having a target spatial pattern are provided. A light generating module generates an input light beam, whose spectral profile is then tailored by imposing thereon a controllable phase modulation. The obtained spectrally tailored light beam is dispersed, using at least one spatially-dispersive element to provide an output light beam having a spatial profile which is a function of the spectral profile of the spectrally tailored light beam, The phase modulation is selected in view of the spectral profile of the input light beam and of the dispersion characteristics of the at least one spatially-dispersive element so that the spatial pattern of the output light beam matches the target spatial pattern therefor.

Abstract: A telecommunications cable management system includes trough elements including a planar top surface and sides for cable routing and management. The trough elements are made from separate parts assembled together with a mating arrangement. The mating arrangement allows assembly of the system on site, such as by snapping the parts together. The trough elements are then assembled together to form the cable management system.

Abstract: A wideband oscillation circuit outputting oscillation signals (divided signals) of continuous frequencies is disclosed and the wideband oscillation circuit includes an oscillator that outputs an oscillation signal, a filter that filters the oscillation signal output from the oscillator and outputs an injection locked signal, and an injection locked frequency divider that performs a free-run operation and outputs a divided signal of the oscillation signal while its oscillating operation is regulated by the injection locked signal, the division ratio of which varies in accordance with a control signal, wherein the filter generates the injection locked signal by controlling the passing characteristic that caused the oscillation signal to pass with respect to time in accordance with a filter control signal locked with the divided signal.

Abstract: A blooming candle is described as an ornamental candle that transforms between different appearances as the candle burns. The candle has a tapered body that extends along a longitudinal axis from a top portion to a bottom portion, where the top portion has a larger diameter than the bottom portion. Vertical grooves are cut into the outside surface of the tapered body to form segments. When the candle is burned, the center portion of the candle about the wick melts according to the candles defined heat radius. As the candle continues to burn, the wax material begins to soften and the segments between the vertical grooves will begin to separate away from the tapered body. As melting continues, the segments continue to separate in an outward and downward direction, resembling petals from a blooming flower. The described candle structures have a predictable ornamental change in shape during the burning process.
Abstract: A filter pack includes a filter construction and a sealing system for sealing the construction within a duct or housing. The filter construction has first and second opposite flow faces and is configured for a straight-through flow. The sealing system includes a frame construction and a compressible seal member. The compressible seal member is molded around a portion of the frame construction. The compressible seal member is sufficiently compressible to form a radial seal between and against the frame construction and a surface of a housing when the filter pack is inserted within the housing.

Abstract: A stereoscopic device including a sensor assembly for detecting a sequence of stereoscopic images of an object, a movement detector for detecting the movements of the sensor assembly relative to the object, and a processing unit connected to the sensor assembly and to the movement detector, wherein the processing unit selects portions of the stereoscopic images, according to a signal received from the movement detector, thereby producing a visually stable sequence of display images.
Abstract: A procedure and device for diagnosing the increasing speed and the dead time of an exhaust gas probe includes carrying out the diagnosis by comparing a modeled and a measured signal after a default change of a fuel air ratio of an air fuel mixture that is supplied to a combustion engine. The signal is an output signal of the exhaust gas probe or a modeled or measured signal that is derived from the output signal. The device for diagnosing the velocity and the dead time of an exhaust gas probe also includes a comparing unit for comparing the modeled signal with the measured signal for diagnosing the velocity and the dead time of the exhaust gas probe after a default change of a fuel air ratio of an air fuel mixture that is supplied to the combustion engine.

Material catches are disclosed for preventing elongated strips of material from snaking longitudinally through the sizing screen without being adequately reduced in length.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of controlling the quality of blocks that are produced front face-up in a mold, and verifying the accuracy of the production of such blocks, to ensure that the blocks are manufactured with consistent quality and minimal block-to-block variability. Measurement locations are formed on the front faces of predetermined blocks. By measuring the distances between the measurement locations and the rear faces and comparing with a target distance, any variation provides an indication that the blocks are not being properly formed. The process variables, such as the alignment of the compression head and/or the pressure plates to the mold, can then be adjusted accordingly.
