The apparatus includes a brassiere-like garment (30) with openings allowing the breasts to be exposed for nursing an infant. Lining (32) is attached to the inside of the brassiere. Ultra-sonic Doppler-Effect transmitter probes (44) and receiver probes (46) are annexed to the brassiere lining pointing at the direction of the respective nipple of the nursing person. A processor is provided for translating flow measurements by the probes (44, 46) into volume units.
Abstract: A kit for upgrading a non-guided shell to an airborne guided shell includes a device to couple the kit to the body of the non-guided shell. A fastener provides for fastening the resulting airborne shell to an aircraft and for detaching it there from. The kit also provides for causing the trajectory of the shell to change once detached from the aircraft according to instructions received in the kit; for determining the position of the shell; and for transferring data from the carrying platform to the guidance kit.
Abstract: A paint edging apparatus includes a body having front and rear ends defining a longitudinal axis therebetween, the body receiving a paint reservoir for supplying paint to an applicator portion of the apparatus, the body including a handle extending rearwardly at an acute angle relative to the longitudinal axis. An urging mechanism selectively engages the paint reservoir to discharge paint therefrom. A vibrator mounted to the body and operatively connected to the paint applicator portion of the apparatus imparts an oscillatory motion to the paint applicator. A trigger is pivotally mounted to the handle for activating the vibrator, wherein a user can move the apparatus over a work surface to apply paint to the work surface and also pivot the trigger at the same time by grasping the handle with a single hand.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a guide thimble of a nuclear fuel assembly, which is capable of improving the cooling performance and the stability of a nuclear fuel, preventing a flow split in dual-cooling nuclear fuel rod and guide thimble sub channels for obtaining high combustion degree and high power, and minimizing a neutron absorption section in a reaction degree region. Since the guide thimble having the dual tube type structure is adopted, a flow split in the fuel rod and guide thimble sub channels can be reduced, and the degradation in performance of nuclear fuel due to increase of a neutron absorption section can be prevented. In order for compatibility with an existing control rod, a typical guide tube is used as an inner guide thimble, and an outer guide thimble is provided outside the inner guide thimble.

Abstract: The present invention provides a novel stable amorphous form of carvedilol dihydrogen phosphate and the process for its preparation that involves reaction of carvedilol base with ortho phosphoric acid in the presence of stabilizer in a suitable solvent or mixture of solvents followed by concentration and isolation. An alternate process for preparation of amorphous form of carvedilol dihydrogen phosphate involves addition of stabiliser to the solution of stable amorphous or crystalline carvedilol dihydrogen phosphate in a suitable solvent or mixture of solvents followed by concentration and isolation. The novel stable amorphous form of carvedilol dihydrogen phosphate is highly stable.
Abstract: The invention relates to a bundle core repository (7) for a distribution device for optical waveguides, comprising a housing having a lateral opening (103), the bundle core repository (7) being connected to a lower part (109) via a pivot bearing (108).

Abstract: Isolated thrombopoietin (TPO), isolated DNA encoding TPO, and recombinant or synthetic methods of preparing and purifying TPO are disclosed. Various forms of TPO are shown to influence the replication, differentiation or maturation of blood cells, especially megakaryocytes and megakaryocyte progenitor cells. Accordingly, these compounds may be used for treatment of thrombocytopenia.
Abstract: The invention relates to a fluid pump, in particular a liquid pump for a cooling and/or heating circuit of a motor vehicle, having a pump housing and having a rotationally fixed shaft, which is arranged in the pump housing, for an inner rotor which has an impeller wheel. According to the invention, it is proposed that the shaft is mounted at one side and, at its end remote from the bearing point, supports a bearing cap which engages at least partially around the shaft. The invention also relates to a method for producing a fluid pump of said type, in which method the shaft is fixed with its first end in a housing, in particular in a plastic housing, of the pump, the inner rotor of the pump is pushed onto the shaft and is secured axially by means of a bearing cap which is placed onto the shaft and is supported by the shaft.

Abstract: Incapacitation of a mammalian subject results from the application of a pulsed, low-power electric waveform. The waveform is applied to the subject at a frequency and over a time period sufficient to induce involuntary muscular contraction. Additionally, the contraction causes limited lactic acid production and is non- or minimally-injurious to the subject's tissues. A device utilizing such a waveform is designed to control or otherwise subdue an individual.

Abstract: A dental prosthesis is made by first forming a model of a patient's dentition. A three dimensional digital data corresponding to the surfaces of the model is then created. Based on this data, a three dimensional digital data file is then created substantially corresponding to the dental prosthesis to be manufactured. The three dimensional digital data of the dental prosthesis to be manufactured is next transmitted to automated prototyping equipment, and using the automated prototyping equipment, a wax pattern of the dental prosthesis is manufactured based upon this three dimensional digital data of the dental prosthesis. Finally, using this wax pattern in the lost wax investment casting process, the dental prosthesis is made. Prior to investment casting, marginal edges of the wax pattern are adjusted manually.
Abstract: A method for installing a fiber optic cable assembly includes providing a fiber optic cable assembly. The fiber optic cable assembly includes a first jacket, a strength layer, and a second jacket. The strength layer surrounds the first jacket and includes a first set of strength members helically wrapped around the first jacket and a second set of strength members reverse helically wrapped around the first jacket. The first and second sets of strength members are unbraided. The method further includes routing the fiber optic cable assembly from a fiber optic enclosure to an end location. A portion of the second jacket at an end of the fiber optic cable assembly is split. The portion of the second jacket is removed.
