Abstract: Adware and viruses are examples of objects that may be embedded in a web page or linked to a web page. When such an object is detected to be associated with a web page loading on a browser, an analysis may be performed to determine a trust level for the object. The object is suppressed based on the trust level. A prompt is displayed to advise a user that the object has been suppressed, and to provide an opportunity to interactively accept or decline activation of an action for the object.

Abstract: A hydraulic system with thermal shock protection. The hydraulic system can include a controller that limits when hot hydraulic fluids may be directed to cold hydraulic components. The hydraulic system can be used in machines such as trenchers to protect hydraulic components such as hydraulic motors from failure due to thermal shock.
Abstract: A process for establishing secure mutual trust includes generating a one-time-password. The one-time-password is transferred between the devices in a communication occurring off of the network. Each device generates a set of authenticators by hashing a plurality of sub-strings of the password and the device's authentication certificate with a respective set of nonces. The devices exchange the respective sets of authenticators. Each device then alternates revealing its respective set of nonces and its authentication certificate in a multi-stage process. The devices re-calculate the authenticators based upon the respective set of nonces and authentication certificate revealed by the other device along with the one-time-password sub-strings that it posses. If each device determines that the authenticators re-calculated by the given device matches the authenticators previously received from the other device, secure mutual trust is established.

Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for detecting a continuous ingress of fuel into the lubricating oil of an internal combustion engine, that is to say oil dilution, in particular of a motor vehicle during cold starting, there is provision, in particular, for the continuous ingress of fuel to be detected by means of a lambda control. The continuous ingress of fuel is preferably determined using the outgassing of fuel from a crankcase of the internal combustion engine, wherein the depletion is based on adaptation values of the lambda control.

Abstract: A resilient (slide) bearing device, for example for use in connection with support of a rotating element in a vessel, where the bearing insert comprises devices for gradual absorption of loads to which the bearing is exposed. This is achieved by the devices for gradual absorption of loads comprising two or more elastic elements with different modulus of elasticity, where the elements are furthermore placed in layers. A method for maintenance and service of the device is also presented.
Abstract: A measuring head for use in electrical measurements conducted in holes drilled in the ground comprises an elongated body, adaptable in the hole and comprising an electrode, electrically connecting the measuring head with its surroundings, for transmitting an electrical signal between the measuring head and its surroundings. In accordance with the invention, the measuring head comprises insulating means, placed on the body on both sides of the electrode along the length of the hole in order to form a measuring area, electrically insulated from other parts of the hole, around the electrode placed in the hole.

Abstract: A co-extrusion process for making decorative moldings having a simulated wood appearance and a given profile includes mixing a base material and color particles to form a mixture, the base material having a rigid polymer and the color particles having a different color from the base material and a higher melt temperature than the base material. The mixture is heated and displaced using a feed screw such that the color particles move helically along the trajectory of the feed screw while avoiding backflow and melting to create corresponding helical vein segments within the base material. The mixture is forced through a tubular channel while controlling heat and shear conditions such that the helical vein segments remain substantially intact.
Abstract: A stream of content has multiple sub-streams, where each sub-stream comprises a part of the content and is divisible into logical blocks bounded by intrinsic partitions. For each sub-stream, a specification of the logical blocks bounded by the intrinsic partitions is defined and the sub-stream is divided into the logical blocks bounded by the intrinsic partitions. Each divided logical block is encrypted and then divided into one or more portions to produce corresponding pieces of data, and each piece of data is placed into a data packet as a payload thereof. Each data packet is transmitted to a recipient thereof, and the recipient can retrieve the pieces of data from the payloads of the packets, reconstruct the encrypted logical blocks, and manipulate the sub-stream on a per-logical block basis without necessarily decrypting each encrypted logical block.

Abstract: A process for removing water from solid material using liquid-solid extraction and liquid-liquid extraction. In most embodiments, multiple solvents are used to step-wise remove the water from the solids and obtain dry solids. Multiple solvents facilitate the removal of the water from the solids, by step-wise replacing the water with a solvent, replacing that solvent with a different solvent, and then eventually removing the second solvent from the solids. The process utilizes a lesser amount of thermal energy to dry the solids and separate the solvents than conventionally used in drying processes. The first solvent selected has a lower heat of vaporization, enthalphy of vaporization, boiling point, or other such physical property, than water. Each subsequent solvent has a still lower heat of vaporization, enthalphy of vaporization, boiling point, or other such physical property then its predecessor.

Abstract: The embodiments described herein generally relate to a method and system of injecting repeatable processes, or workflows, into the processing of data-oriented or procedural requests in an entity management system. A request in such a system is subject to authentication, authorization, and action phases of processing, and workflows may be associated with each phase for automatic processing upon the triggering of a certain request under particular circumstances. A declarative mapping associates workflows with the request type, phase, requester, and target. The mapping may be created at the system administrator level, or by any person with the necessary capabilities, through the application of the processing concept in API or UI and may be consulted and invoked upon receipt of a request matching the mapping's criteria. Mappings may also be created and retrieved to manage state changes resulting from processing in other phases of the request processing model.

Abstract: An interlocking sheet profile connector comprises a first and a second connecting profile. The first connecting profile includes a base attached to the first sheet pile wall element, a neck strip projecting from the base and a head strip of larger cross section on the free end of the neck strip. The second connecting profile possesses a base attached to a second sheet pile wall element and a claw strip to secure a head strip. The head strip of the first connecting profile is thus configured both to secure the claw strip of a sheet pile as a sheet pile wall element and to secure the claw strip of the second connecting profile, while the claw strip of the second connecting profile serves both to secure the head strip of a sheet pile as a sheet pile wall element and to secure the head strip of the first connecting profile.
