  • Patent number: 5940616
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for providing object tracking capabilities in object-oriented programming environments using a tracker class and associated functions, and a memory for storing tracker objects. The tracker class, once defined as a base class of any target class that needs the tracking capability, automatically tracks all the objects instantiated from the target class in a linked list. Objects instantiated from classes derived from the tracker class are automatically tracked when the target objects are initialized, be it on a heap or on a stack, because the constructor of the tracker class is invoked by the constructor of the target class. The tracker class is defined as a template, so that it can be applied to any type of target object.

  • Patent number: 5934355
Abstract: A formed porous body of oxide ceramic and an aluminum alloy block are placed in a crucible in an atmospheric furnace, and a magnesium source is placed in another crucible in the atmospheric furnace. An argon gas is then introduced into the atmospheric furnace, which is then heated to produce a magnesium vapor from the magnesium source and melt the aluminum alloy block. Then, the argon gas is replaced with a nitrogen gas to generate magnesium nitride. The magnesium nitride reduces an oxide on surfaces of the formed porous body, exposing metal atoms on the surfaces of the formed porous body. The molten aluminum alloy permeates the formed porous body under a pressure lower or higher than the atmospheric pressure or alternate pressures lower and higher than the atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 5936716
Abstract: An integrated dual beam multi-channel optical-based flux monitor and method of monitoring atomic absorption of a plurality of atomic species during epitaxial deposition. Light from multiple sources is simultaneously passed through a region of deposition of material such that atomic absorption takes place. The light that passed through the region is then compared to light in a reference arm that did not pass through a region of atomic absorption. From this comparison the deposition of an epitaxial layer can be carefully monitored and controlled.

  • Patent number: 5933340
Abstract: A frequency dependent controller that utilizes a loosely coupled transformer having a magnetic shunt with an air gap, which controller is adjusted to change the operating characteristics of the transformer by varying its operating frequency in accordance with the operating requirements of a load to be supplied with power. If the transformer is operated at a single frequency, the maximum current that can be delivered is a function of the magnetic shunt, air gap and that signal frequency. If the transformer is operated over a frequency range by the controller, the maximum current and other operating characteristics of the transformer are a function of both the magnetic shunt and its then current operating frequency.
