Abstract: Monoazo compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which one of the two substituents R.sub.1 or R.sub.2 or both substituents are C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 -alkyl or a group of the formula ##STR2## in which R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently of each other hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl and R.sub.5 is hydrogen, halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl and the other of the two substitutents R.sub.1 or R.sub.2, when the two are not C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 -alkyl or a group of the formula (1a), is hydrogen, halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, and KK is the radical of a coupling component which is free of water-solubilizing groups the two described. These compounds can be used as dyes for dyeing or printing for example polyester fibre materials.

Abstract: A process for the photochemical stabilization of fibre materials made of synthetic polyamides, which comprises treating the fibre material with at least one water-soluble copper complex dye or with a mixture of copper complex compounds containing at least one copper complex dye, or containing at least one copper complex dye in combination with a water-soluble 1:2 cobalt complex dye, 1:2 chromium complex dye, or an azo, anthraquinone, nitroaryl or dioxazine dye.The fibre materials treated (dyed) by the process of the invention are distinguished by very high tear strength and elongation values after exposure to light or exposure to hot light.

Abstract: The present invention relates to milbemycin derivatives of the formula I ##STR1## wherein X is hydrogen or .beta.-halogen, R is methyl, ethyl, isopropyl or sec-butyl and Az is a 5 membered heterocyclic aromatic ring which contains 2-4 nitrogen atoms and is attached in the 1-position and which is unsubstituted or substituted by one or two C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl groups. These compounds, and the acid addition salts and metal complexes thereof, are effective pesticides for controlling endo-and ectoparasites, especially for controlling neamatodes which are parasites of animals. The may be obtained by appropriate esterification in 5-position of milbemycin derivatives. The selective .beta.-halogenation of 14,15-epoxymilbemycin derivatives can be effected via the intermediate .DELTA..sup.13,14 -15-hydroxymilbemycins with appropriate halogenating agents.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for improving the color yield and wetfastness properties of dyeings or prints produced on cellulosic materials with anionic dyes. The process comprises treating the cellulosic fabric before, during or after dyeing with a cationic fiber-reactive compound which is the reaction product of an imidazole compound containing in 2-position phenyl or an aliphatic radical of not less than 5 carbon atoms, and an epihalohydrin.

Abstract: There are described novel microbicides and the production thereof, which correspond to the formula I ##STR1## in which R is halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -haloalkyl, and n is 0, 1 or 2. The novel compounds are valuable active substances, particularly for controlling phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria. The compounds are suitable for protecting cultivated plants and seed, and can be advantageously used for the protection of stored stocks and provisions.

Abstract: The invention relates to metal salicylates of the formula ##STR1## wherein Me is a metal ion of valency n,n is 2, 3 or 4, andeach of the rings A and B independently of the other is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or an .alpha.-methylbenzyl radical.The metal salicylates are particularly suitable developers for the color former in pressure-sensitive or heat-sensitive recording materials.

Abstract: The invention relates to bisimidazolium salts whose imidazole moieties are linked to each other through a bridge in the 1-position and which contain, in the 3-position, fibre-reactive groups formed by the addition of epihalohydrin.These bisimidazolium salts are particularly suitable for improving the yield and wetfastness properties of dyeings or prints which are produced on cellulosic fabrics with anionic dyes, for example with reactive or direct dyes.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for dyeing natural or synthetic polyamide fibre material levelly from an aqueous liquor, with 1:1 metal complex dyes and at least one metal free dye, all of which contain sulfo groups, in the presence of an alkali metal salt or an ammonium salt and optionally in the presence of an assistant, which comprises carrying out dyeing in the presence of an alkali metal fluoride or ammonium fluoride, or an alkali metal fluorosilicate or ammonium fluorosilicate, or of an alkali metal fluoroborate or ammonium fluoroborate, at a pH in the range from 3 to 7.The process of this invention is suitable for dyeing natural or synthetic polyamide material in level shades of good fastness properties.
