Patent number: 4318469Abstract: A wire mesh band or belt for a conveyor having downwardly extending protuberances for engaging peripheral grooves in rollers of a conveyor system to maintain the band in proper transverse position. The protuberances are formed on guide wires woven into the band at lateral and longitudinal intervals in the weft direction. The guide wires have at least one flattened surface so that they cannot rotate about their longitudinal axis. In a second embodiment, instead of continuous guide wires, a plurality of guide wire sections may be arranged at intervals transversely across the band.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1979Date of Patent: March 9, 1982Assignee: GKD Gebr. Patent number: 4307278Abstract: A device for controlling the heat generated by induction coils in a multiple induction heating coil furnace. Multiple induction coils provide parallel cylindrical passages having axial lengths and fixed diameters through which elongated workpieces are movable in the axial direction. The axial length of one induction coil is fixed while the other coils have variable lengths as a result of an arrangement for altering the distance between first and second ends of the induction coils. Sensors detect the temperatures of workpieces within each induction coil and a comparison of the detected temperature reveals the difference between the variable and fixed axial length induction coils. The axial length of the coils are shortened in the event that the detected temperature is greater than that of the workpiece in the fixed axial length coil, and conversely, lengthened in the event that the detected temperature is less than that of a workpiece in the fixed axial length coil.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1980Date of Patent: December 22, 1981Assignee: Park-Ohio Industries, Inc.Inventor: John C. Patent number: 4296405Abstract: There is provided a device for converting a succession of analog voltage signals representative of light intensity of light from and controlled by a corresponding succession of finite surface locations of a natural leaf into high or white, low or black and intermediate or gray digital signals. This device includes an arrangement for creating a white digital signal when the analog voltage of a given location exceeds the threshold voltage. The digital signals are continuously averaged and updated to provide a datum voltage against which the analog voltage is compared after the datum voltage is decreased by a preselected amount. If the analog voltage is less than the reduced datum voltage, a black digital signal is created. If there is neither a black nor a white digital signal, a gray digital signal is created. In this manner, the general light intensity characteristics of each successive location on the leaf can be recorded as either white, black or gray.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1978Date of Patent: October 20, 1981Assignee: Gulf & Western CorporationInventor: Leonard G. Patent number: 4294498Abstract: A wall cabinet and method for constructing the same is disclosed wherein vacuum formed, heat fusible polymeric sheet material is used to provide a one-piece body portion and a sealed, hollow door portion. The body portion is provided with an integral mounting flange including perpendicularly extending hinge leaves for pivotal mounting of the door portion. Construction of the hollow, sealed door portion enables two separate sheets of polymeric material to be vacuum formed simultaneously and bonded together along a peripheral seam having a thickness substantially less than two sheets in a manner not distracting from the appearance of the door. Assembly of the body portion and door portion is provided by threading studs into the hinge leaves through vertically opposed corners of one side of the door panel. A latching mechanism is provided between the mounting flange of the body portion and the inside surface of the door panel.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1979Date of Patent: October 13, 1981Inventor: Richard D.
