Abstract: A method for computer control of collaborating devices enables automatic generation of resource management profiles to coordinate resource allocation within the collaborating device. The method includes utilization of a graphical user interface to select an initial resource management profile and instruct the device to automatically generate a resource profile. Timing is specified for creation of the automatically generated optimized resource profile. The optimized resource profile is developed from statistics maintained, collected, and interpreted about the demand for resources within each component of the collaborating device. An operator may elect to automatically invoke the most recently generated optimized profile after a specified period of collaborating device idleness or to invoke it upon an instruction from the operator. The optimized resource profile may be saved for future use or discarded.
Abstract: A dual mode imaging system includes a dual wavelength ROS suitable for imaging xerographic media and erasable media. When included in an imaging system this includes media transport for selectively conveying non-erasable and erasable media to corresponding imaging positions in the dual mode imaging system. The system further includes a photoreceptor and a raster scanned light beam positioned to selectively image one of the photoreceptor and the erasable media. The media transport includes a non-erasable media transport path and an erasable media transport path, the erasable media transport path diverted from the non-erasable media transport path. An erasable medium in the diverted erasable media transport path intercepts a UV imaging raster scanned light beam, and in the absence of an erasable medium, the photoreceptor intercepts an IR raster scanned light beam.
Abstract: Systems and methods of lenticular printing are disclosed. The systems and methods include an imaging device to process a lenticular image from two or more original images interlaced together. A printer of the imaging device prints the lenticular image on a substrate. A UV-cured gel deposition system of the imaging device is configured to deposit a UV-cured gel on the printed lenticular image to serve as a lenticular lens. The printing of the lenticular image and the depositing of the lenticular lens occurs concurrently to reduce the amount of manufacturing required to produce the lenticular device.
Abstract: Provided are fuser members and printing apparatuses including fuser members. The fuser member can include a substrate and a top coat layer including a hyper nanocomposite disposed over the substrate, wherein the hyper nanocomposite can include a plurality of nanoparticles substantially uniformly dispersed in one or more cross-linked hyperbranched polymers selected from the group consisting of polycarbosilane, polycarbosilixane, polycarbosilazene, and polyfluorocarbon.

Abstract: An electronic lock includes a rotatable core movable within an outer body. The rotatable core includes an actuator configured to move a tumbler blocking member into or out of interfering engagement with one or more tumblers. In an unlocked state, the actuator moves the tumbler blocking member so that a movable locking member in the rotatable core that engages the outer body can be moved into the rotatable core. In a locked state, the actuator positions the tumbler blocking member to prevent the one or more tumblers from retracting and thereby retain the locking member in a channel of the outer body.

Abstract: A method of forming and resulting nano-structured composite includes atomizing a mixture of an amount of each of aminopropyltriethoxysilane, AgNO3, DI water, and ethanol in a carrier gas; heating the atomized droplets at a selected temperature for a time sufficient to reduce the Ag to its elemental form in a silica matrix; and outputting the nano structured composite particles. A predetermined heating time is from about 0.01 to about 40 seconds and a selected heating temperature is from about 200 to about 800° C. The nano structured composite includes a plurality of nano particles at a contact surface of the composite, dispersed throughout and at a contact surface of the composite, or dispersed throughout the composite.

Abstract: A method for reducing interference between radio frequency (RF) signals includes initiating a first communication session from a control system to a remote RF device using a first RF signal to transmit a first outgoing message, wherein the first RF signal within a first RF range, and detecting a second communication session transmitted from a system RF device to the control system using a second RF signal. The second communication session includes an incoming message, and the second RF signal is within a second RF range at least partially overlapping the first RF range. The method includes, when the second communication session is detected, interrupting the first communication session for a time period, receiving the second communication session during the time period to receive the incoming message, and, after the time period expires, resuming the first communication session with the remote RF device.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide a non-collimated 3D localization technique to detect an unknown radioactive source in a medium material using a plurality of detectors. 3D position information (x, y, z), and strength of the unknown radioactive source(s) can be determined by a comparison or a data fit between the measured detector responses with a mapping of detector responses performed with known calibration radioactive source(s). The non-collimated 3D localization technique can be used to extract lateral and depth position of contaminations in soil, concrete, or metal, to aid in monitoring and localizing radiation for nonproliferation and prevent smuggling of nuclear materials, and/or to detect and localize radioactive source(s) in medical or non-medical purposes.
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide methods of forming semiconductor devices, by which defects formed upon nucleation and coalescence of semiconductor islands can be reduced or eliminated. In one embodiment, an annealing process can be performed prior to coalescence of the semiconductor islands into a continuous semiconductor layer. In another embodiment, high-quality Group III-V materials can be formed on the continuous semiconductor layer.

A sacrificial material is seated over the aperture of the print head substrate and joins a terminal end of the truncated nozzle plate. The sacrificial material is encapsulated from the terminal end of the nozzle plate to a surface of the print head substrate. Removal of the sacrificial material defines the fluid path from the aperture of the print head substrate to the nozzle plate.

The electrostatic latent image generator can include a substrate and an array of pixels disposed over the substrate, wherein each pixel of the array of pixels can include a layer of one or more nano-carbon materials, and wherein each pixel of the array of pixels is electrically isolated and is individually addressable. The electrostatic latent image generator can also include a charge transport layer disposed over the array of pixels, wherein the charge transport layer can include a surface disposed opposite to the array of pixels, and wherein the charge transport layer is configured to transport holes provided by the one or more pixels to the surface.
