Abstract: A protective device for hypodermic syringes capable of avoiding needlestick injuries comprises a sterile penetrable support member and a plurality of hypodermic syringe protective caps received in the support member. In an alternative embodiment, the support member is removably attached to a base member so that it (the support member) may be disposed of and replaced by a new, sterile support member.
Abstract: A device for attracting and killing fleas and other insects and bugs has a light for attracting the insects and a shallow reservoir of soapy water which the insects fall into causing them to drown. The soapy water can be replaced as often as is necessary or desired.
Abstract: A rotatable picture frame apparatus which is made up of a plurality of picture frames, a turntable for supporting the picture frames, a casing for supporting the turntable and a base for supporting the casing. The apparatus contains a motor which is connected to the turntable by a rotating shaft and a switch for turning the motor on and off. The apparatus may contain its own electrical supply in the form of batteries contained in the casing or it may be adapted to be connected to an external power source.
Abstract: A new and improved blanket apparatus for fitting over a baby seat or carrier which has a top and sides includes a flexible cloth member having dimensions sufficient to fit over the top and sides of the baby seat or carrier. The flexible cloth member has an outer edge; and an elastic strip or a draw string is installed near the outer edge of the flexible cloth member, for gathering the outer edge to form an opening having a plurality of adjustable sizes. A first adjustable size of the opening is sufficiently large to fit over the top and sides of the baby seat or carrier for installing the blanket apparatus on the baby seat or carrier. A second adjustable size of the opening is sufficiently small to resin the blanket apparatus on the baby seat or carrier, by preventing the blanket apparatus from slipping over the sides once the blanket apparatus has been installed.
Abstract: A new and improved buffing appliance is disclosed comprising a housing, a buffing wheel supported for rotation on the housing, an impeller inside the housing for causing rotation of the buffing wheel, a fluid source coupled to the housing for driving the impeller, a delivery conduit for supplying a surface treating substance (e.g., polishing wax) to the buffing wheel coaxially through the impeller, and separate controls on the housing for controlling rotation of the impeller and delivery of the surface treating compound through the delivery conduit. In an alternative embodiment, the surface treating compound is stored in a liquid form in a canister mounted directly on the housing and including a self-contained pressurizing device for effecting delivery of the compound through the delivery conduit.
Abstract: A cartridge magazine for firearms comprises a key insertable through a slot in the end panel of the magazine for engaging the spring engaged elevator upon which the shells are supported. The slot includes a series of transverse or lateral branches spaced longitudinally on the panel for receiving the key and locking the elevator in position. The magazine thus may be loaded with cartridge shells in stages as defined by the lateral locking branches. After loading is completed, the key may be removed from the magazine and clip so that the latter may be inserted into the firearm with which it is used. In an alternatively preferred embodiment, optional marking means are positioned on top of the magazine for placing an identifying marking on each cartridge shell.
Abstract: A new and improved combined snow pusher, ice chopper, and broom apparatus for clearing a surface includes a handle which is supported by a support and which projects upward from the top of the support at a first acute angle with respect to the support. Bristles are supported by the support, and the bristles project downward from the bottom of the support by a first distance. A panel element is supported by the support at the front of the support. The panel element is connected directly to the support, and the bottom end of the panel element projects downward past the bottom of the support by a second distance. The second distance is less than the first distance, whereby the portion of the panel element which extends below the support element protects the interface between the bristles and the support, whereby the panel element does not contact the surface to be cleared. The bottom end of the panel element includes a sharp lower edge.
Abstract: A multi-purpose gas heated cooking apparatus has a framework rack for holding a cooking container to be heated to cook the container's contents. The cooking apparatus has a shelf which can be positioned in a plurality locations within the framework rack for supporting a cooking container and the cooking apparatus has a centrally positioned hook at the top of the framework for hanging a cooking container such as a hanging kettle. A cooking container supported within the apparatus can be heated with propane gas burned in a specially adapted propane gas burner which itself can at least partially support a cooking container. The shelf and the specially adapted propane burner can be positioned in several different ways depending upon the type of cooking to be done and cooking container to be used. The apparatus can be alternately used for frying, stewing in an old-fashioned type kettle, deep-frying in an old-fashioned type kettle, steaming, or grilling.
Abstract: A new and improved spray can control apparatus includes a handle assembly, a telescopically extensible extension assembly connected to the handle assembly, and a spray can holding assembly connected to the extension assembly. A spray control actuation assembly includes a hand-operated actuator assembly supported by the handle assembly, a flexible member connected to the hand-operated actuator assembly and extending along the extension assembly, and a can nozzle actuator assembly connected to the flexible member and supported by the extension assembly. The can nozzle actuator assembly actuates a can nozzle when the hand-operated actuator assembly is actuated. The handle assembly includes a first hand-held handle member connected to the extension assembly, two strut members attached to the first hand-held handle member and projecting therefrom, and a second hand-held handle member connected to the two strut members.
