  • Patent number: 5655901
Abstract: A portable lighter, or particularly a lighter with a safety device is disclosed, in which safety is ensured by using a separate locking device. While a lighter is convenient, the conventional lighter broods the danger that, if it is accidentally lighted, or if a child plays with it, a hellish catastrophe can occur. The present invention is intended to overcome the above described disadvantages of the conventional technique. Therefore it is the object of the present invention to provide a lighter with a safety device, in which the lighter is locked after each use, so that unexpected disaster can be prevented. In achieving the above object, the lighter according to the present invention is characterized in that a pressing button for activating a piezo electric device is prevented from being activated by a locking section, the locking section being for temporarily locking an igniting section. The locking section is activated by the pressing button and a locking member.

  • Patent number: 5656918
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling a load connected to an internal combustion engine during operation is disclosed and claimed. The apparatus comprises a suction switch (12) which is sensitive to a decrease in vacuum in the manifold (16) of the vehicle when more motive power is required. The switch (16) causes a controller (30), at terminal (44) thereof, to provide a voltage higher than a predetermined set voltage at the D+ terminal of a conventional regulator (46), thereby to interrupt current flow in the excitation circuit of a conventional alternator (48). The alternator is consequently switched off to reduce the load connected to the engine, thereby to make more engine power available to the drive wheels of the vehicle. The apparatus thus also serves as a fuel saving device.

  • Patent number: 5641894
Abstract: A sampling cylinder 3 is attached to a process piping 2 through which a slurry flows. A front piston 9 and a rear piston 10 which slide within the sampling cylinder 3 are driven via a driving rod 12 by a fluid pressure cylinder 11. These two pistons 9,10 are allowed to slide to collect the slurry into a sampling space 30 defined between the pistons 9,10. The front piston 9 is brought closer to the rear piston 10 to reduce the volume of the sampling space 30. Thus, only the filtrate in the slurry is fed through a filter 5 into a filtrate collecting tank 6, where pH etc. of the filtrate is measured by a sensor 8. Subsequently, the front piston 9 is brought apart from the rear piston 10 to increase the volume of the sampling space 30. Thus, the filtrate is returned into the sampling space 30 back-washing the filter 5. Then, the slurry in the sampling space 30 is returned to the process piping 2.

  • Patent number: 5636770
Abstract: A dip tube whose tip portion can reach the nooks at the bottom of an aerosol container, so that the aerosol content therein can be assuredly sprayed with substantially no aerosol content being left unused. A weight fixed around the dip tube is arranged so that it does not hit the inner surface of the aerosol container. The dip tube is provided in an aerosol container and an end portion thereof is connected to a valve mechanism. The opposite end of the dip tube is left free. The dip tube conveys the aerosol content from the container to the valve mechanism where it is emitted as an aerosol spray. The dip tube includes a pliable tube main body and a tubular weight fixed on the tube main body adjacent to the free end. An end portion of the tube main body is therefore left exposed by the tubular weight. The length of the exposed end portion is selected so that the end portion is assuredly interposed between the weight and the interior surface of the container.
