    Abstract: A shaft support assembly particularly well suited for supporting the high speed rotor in a laser polygon mirror drive motor assembly. The rotor has conically tapered ends. These ends are supported by conical plain bearings. At least one of the bearings is adjustable with respect to the shaft and the bearing so that the gap between the shaft and bearing can be easily adjusted.
