Patent number: 8266770Abstract: A badge holder for attachment to a garment includes a planar clip body having an opening therein forming a periphery structure in the clip body. A planar flexible spring member appends from a top portion of the periphery structure, with the free end terminating within the opening near a bottom portion of the structure and is coplanar therewith. The gap between the edge surface of the spring member and the interior wall of the periphery structure decreases in width from the bottom portion of the peripheral structure to the top portion of the peripheral structure. A plurality of projecting elements project from the surrounding edge surfaces of the spring member and from the front surface to assist in firmly holding the fabric in the clip. A badge mounting member projects from the front surface of the periphery structure upon which a badge can be mounted.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2011Date of Patent: September 18, 2012Assignee: Tecco, Inc.Inventor: David J. Patent number: 8104222Abstract: An animal trap having a jaw pivotally mounted to a base that swings between cocked sprung positions. A spring means biases the jaw toward the sprung position. Cooperatively engaged drive and driven gears are mounted on the side of the base. The driven gear is releasably engaged to the jaw when the jaw is in the sprung position. A lever means is provided for the selective engagement with the drive gear. When the lever is engaged to the drive gear and rotated it causes the driven gear to rotate, pivoting the jaw to the cocked position. After the animal is trapped, the lever is engaged with the drive gear permitting the jaw to be pivotally moved to the cocked position and releasing the animal from the trap. An enclosure permits the animal to enter and step on the trigger member to spring the jaw.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2009Date of Patent: January 31, 2012Inventor: David C. Hovey

Patent number: 7987618Abstract: A shock absorbing device for a shoe sole includes: an outer sole 2; a midsole M; and a deformation element 3 placed between the outer sole 2 and the midsole M. The deformation element 3 is positioned at a periphery of a rear foot part 1B and includes a bending deformation member 30 that opens toward the periphery from a center of the rear foot part 1B. The bending deformation member 30 includes a lower plate portion 31, an upper plate portion 32 that forms an opening angle with respect to the lower plate portion 31, and a curved portion 33 that connects the lower plate portion 31 and the upper plate portion 32. The lower plate portion 31 and the upper plate portion 32 are gradually getting away from each other as a distance from the curved portion increases. A rubber-like or pod-like compression deformation member 35 is fit between the lower and upper plate portions 31, 32.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2005Date of Patent: August 2, 2011Assignee: ASICS CorporationInventors: Tsuyoshi Nishiwaki, Hisanori Fujita, Kiyomitsu Kurosaki

Patent number: 7913323Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an upper body garment that is capable of facilitating the action of raising the arms while reducing the activities of muscles by preventing unnecessary restriction of the muscles. The upper body garment is characterized in that a low stretchable portion is disposed in a predetermined area of the back side of the garment. The predetermined area extends from one end side to the opposite end side in the width direction of the back side of the garment and contains at least areas in which the inferior angles of the right and left scapulas are respectively displaced during raising the arms. The low stretchable portion has a stretching ratio smaller in the width direction of the back side than an area near at least a neck portion of the back side.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2006Date of Patent: March 29, 2011Assignee: ASICS CorporationInventors: Yoshikuni Takamoto, Yoshie Tsuji, Mamoru Omuro

Patent number: 7823298Abstract: The present invention relates to the upper U of an athletic shoe comprising a first opening 1 out of which the foot sticks upwards during wearing and a second opening 2 which is closed with a tongue. The two openings 1, 2 are continuous with each other, and the upper U comprises a medial side stretchable part 51 which covers a part of a medial side face of an arch of the foot, a lateral side stretchable part 50 which covers a part of a lateral side face of a ball of a little toe (a fifth toe), a front part 3 located forward of the two stretchable parts 50, 51 and a rear part 4 located backward of the two stretchable parts. Each of the stretchable parts 50, 51 is provided so as to essentially cross one of side faces of the upper U from a top surface of a sole S to the second opening 2. Young's modulus along the lengthwise direction L of the foot of each of the stretchable parts 50, 51 is set smaller than that of the front part 3 and the rear part 4.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2004Date of Patent: November 2, 2010Assignee: ASICS CorporationInventors: Tsuyoshi Nishiwaki, Noboru Nakabe, Kiyomitsu Kurosaki, Toshikazu Kayano

Patent number: 7736711Abstract: The device prevents the loss of articles otherwise susceptible to falling behind furniture, appliances, fixtures or equipment or other large objects placed next to a wall which are not easy to move or reach under such as, but not exclusively, couches, wardrobes, desks, washers, dryers, refrigerators, filing cabinets and dressers. The compressible and flexible device is fitted from above into the crevice between the furniture and the wall. It is held in place by friction created by the pressure caused by the deformation of the device between the furniture and wall. The device, when flexed or compressed, creates a u-shaped channel which catches valuables such as jewelry, makeup, currency, papers, office supplies or other items which are left on top of furniture and which without such invention, may otherwise fall behind the furniture where it would be difficult or impossible to retrieve.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2009Date of Patent: June 15, 2010Inventor: Howard A.
