  • Patent number: 7176329
Abstract: A novel fatty polypropoxylate ester which is an ester of an aliphatic or an aromatic monoacid formed by reacting the acid with a stoichiometric excess of a polypropoxylated fatty alcohol. The compounds have the following structural formula: wherein R1 has the structural formula: wherein R5 is a saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic or aromatic moiety containing from 4 to 24 carbon atoms, and x is an integer from 3 to 30; and wherein R has the structural formula: wherein R2, R3 and R4 are independently selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, propyl or isopropyl; or wherein R6 is H or OH or NH2 or methyl or ethyl. The compounds possess exceptional pigment dispersant and esthetic emollient properties for use in personal care and topical pharmaceutical preparations, e.g., lipsticks, cream foundations, waterproof sunscreens, sunscreen lotions.

  • Patent number: 7153131
Abstract: An intraoral illumination device for illuminating the interior of the mouth of a dental patient. The device comprises a flexible container having container defining walls, a portion of the walls being light transmitting. The device is sized for insertion into the mouth and placement against an interior surface of the mouth, e.g., the gum. A pressure-sensitive adhesive layer covers a portion of the walls for adhesively mounting the device to the interior surface of the mouth. A first chamber and a second chamber are within the container. The chambers are connected to each other by a frangible wall. Each of the chambers contain a chemical composition that when mixed together create a chemiluminescent reaction that produces light. When the frangible wall is fractured by flexing the container, it permits the compositions to mix within the container to create a chemiluminescent reaction that emits light through the container walls to illuminate the mouth, permitting dental procedures to be easily performed.

  • Patent number: 7082699
Abstract: A midsole includes a thick plate-shaped or column-shaped cushioning portion. A plurality of grooves is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the cushioning portion. The respective grooves are helically formed around a substantially vertical line. The respective grooves are arranged substantially parallel with each other. A range ? in which each of the grooves is formed is larger than a range of 15 degrees around the axial line and is smaller than a range of 180 degrees around the axial line.

  • Patent number: 7080530
Abstract: A locking device having a cylindrical plunger and a cylindrical sleeve for releasably and rotatably receiving the plunger, the sleeve having an open top portion, and a bottom portion. A keyway is provided axially disposed along the length of one of the plunger or sleeve, and a lip circumferentially disposed around the same plunger or sleeve. A key is also provided on the other of the plunger or sleeve, the key slidably mating with the keyway. A spring member is disposed within the sleeve and is compressed when the plunger is inserted into the sleeve biasing the plunger out of the sleeve. To lock the device the plunger is inserted into the sleeve, the key sliding along the keyway through the lip, the plunger compressing the spring member, and then the sleeve and plunger are rotated with respect to each other and released, the spring biasing the plunger out of the sleeve and locking the key onto a surface of the lip.

  • Patent number: 7077185
Abstract: A hand held tape dispenser for applying adhesive tape to a surface. The dispenser includes a housing for holding and dispensing a roll of tape and has a tape dispensing opening therein. A plurality of rollers are within the housing, the outer surfaces of which coact with each other and the tape to retain, guide and feed the tape through the opening. The outer surface of at least one of the rollers protrudes through the opening on one side thereof enabling frictional contact of the roller with the surface to be taped. When the tape dispenser passes over the surface in one direction the outer surface of the roller engages the surface and the tape causing it to roll and to coact and drive the other rollers. This causes the rollers to grip the surfaces of the tape and feed the tape through the opening enabling the tape to adhesively contact the surface and adhere thereto. The tape is cut off at the opening.
