Abstract: The assembly of the present invention comprises a liquid dispensing device having conduit means for delivering liquids from a storage chamber to a mixing chamber, from which the liquid product is dispensed, and valve means incorporated in each conduit. The assembly further comprises a flow meter for each liquid which operates to produce an output signal proportional to the quantity of liquid flowing through the conduit. A control means receives the output signals and operates on detecting that flow of one liquid exceeds a predetermined amount, by closing the flow control valve associated with that liquid. Upon detecting that the proper proportion is achieved, the control means signals the valve to re-open.
Abstract: A surgical stapling instrument with a remotely articulated staple head assembly on a rotatable support shaft. A joy stick mounted to the shaft of the instrument near the handle allows for remote articulation of the staple head assembly. The staple head assembly includes a narrow contour for insertion between adjacent rib pairs without rib spreading. The staple head assembly further includes a reloadable staple cartridge which may be replaced with differently sized staples of a second cartridge. A closure trigger clamps tissue prior to stapling and cooperates with a second trigger that performs the staple firing operation. The triggers include a safety lock mechanism for preventing premature staple firing.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a well brick or a tuyere brick for receiving a nozzle brick or a porous brick for injecting gas which is disposed on the bottom of a vessel for molten metal. A well brick is disposed on a bottom of a vessel for molten metal, and comprises a product formed into a shape of a cylinder or a frustum of cone by using an isostatic press. The well brick is made by mixing a raw material comprising aggregate of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 as a main element, 0.3 to 10.0 weight % carbon material, 0.2 to 0.5 weight % metal or metallic powder of at least one element selected from the group consisting of Al, Mg, Ca and Si, and 0.1 to 30 weight % Mg and thermosetting resin as a binding material and by forming them.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining caloric expenditure of a subject. The apparatus includes a modified heat flow sensor having an overlay and/or conductive layer for measuring the evaporative heat loss component, in addition to substantially total heat loss, for the subject.

Abstract: A child seat belt clip having a housing containing preferably two block-type pinch clamps to secure a lap and shoulder belt slid into a housing. Depression of preferably a latch or lever acts to rotate the clamping blocks about their respective axle, allowing the clamping blocks to be rotated up and out of the way for easy insertion or removal of the lap and shoulder belt into or from a slot in the housing. Release of the latch allows springs wound around each axle to rotate the clamping blocks back, and in tight contact with the lap and shoulder belt, thereby securing the lap and shoulder belt against the wall of the housing. Increased force against the clamped belt acts to tighten the clamp against the belt, reducing the possibility of slippage of the lap and shoulder belt through the seat belt clip.
Abstract: A stand mixer having a mixer head that can be locked in an up or down position. The locking mechanism includes a pin slideably retained in the pedestal of the stand, which is removeably received in one or more recesses in the mixer head.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for parts conveyance a part which is connected to a conveyance device, such as a conveyer chain, through the use of a hanger tab. After the part is removed from the conveyance device, the hanger tab is detached from the part and discarded.
