  • Patent number: 4703735
Abstract: The plurality of cylinders of a multicylinder engine are divided into first group cylinders and second group cylinders, and first and second exhaust sensors are provided to respectively detect the air-fuel ratios of the intake mixtures fed to the first group cylinders and second group cylinders. The air-fuel ratio for the first group cylinders is controlled in a closed loop by a first integration signal generated based on the output of the first exhaust sensor and the air-fuel ratio for the second group cylinders is controlled in a closed loop by a second integration signal generated based on the output of the second exhaust sensor. One of the first and second integration signals is corrected so that the air-fuel ratios for the first group cylinders and second group cylinders are increased and reduced in phases reverse to each other.

  • Patent number: 4704300
Abstract: A silicon nitride layer is formed on a substrate by reacting (1) a silicon fluoride, (2) nitrogen or nitrogen hydride and (3) a nitrogen fluoride by a plasma chemical vapor deposition (thermal energy and electronic energy are applied) process.According to the invention, fluorine is added in the silicon nitride layer to produce a Si-F coupling and thus it is made possible to reduce a concentration of hydrogen in the silicon nitride film.It is also possible to make a concentration of oxygen in the silicon nitride layer less than 1/10 of that of the conventional silicon nitride.

  • Patent number: 4703383
Abstract: A thin-film magnetic film composed of a substrate, a lower magnetic layer, a first insulating layer, a coil conductor, a second insulating layer, and an upper magnetic layer accumulated in this order. The cross-section of the coil conductor has a trapezoidal shape having skirts at the lower end of the sides thereof. Owing to the presence of the skirts, the surface of the second insulating layer formed thereon can be made flat by ion etching, and consequently the surface of the upper magntic layer is made flat. The incident angle of the ion beam and the thickness of the photoresist used in the ion etching process to make the pattern of the coil conductor layer are determined so that the cross-sectional shape of the coil conductor is a trapezoid having skirts at the lower ends thereof.

  • Patent number: 4700071
Abstract: A two-dimensional image sensor such as a stimulable phosphor sheet is exposed under vacuum to an electron beam that has passed through a specimen to cause the two-dimensional image sensor to store the energy of the electron beam, then stimulating energy is applied to the two-dimensional image sensor for discharging light therefrom which represents the stored energy of the electron beam, and the light discharged from the two-dimensional image sensor is photoelectrically detected to produce an image signal. A reference image signal is also produced in a similar manner by exposing the two-dimensional image sensor to an electron beam that has not passed through the specimen. One of the first-mentioned image signal and the reference image signal is subtracted from the other per pixel to generate a difference signal, from which an electron microscope image of the specimen is reproduced.
