  • Patent number: 5060912
Abstract: A holder for a vehicle spare tire which diminishes the possibility of tire theft from the vehicle. The holder includes a hoist attached to the vehicle frame. This hoist is driven by a key wrench which engages a key aperture associated with the hoist drive means. A flexible guide directs the key wrench from the exterior portion of the vehicle into its key aperture. The guide comprises a flexible spring which is associated in a slidable relationship with the hoist. The flexion and/or slidable connection of the guide precludes operation of the hoist by manipulation of the guide. The key wrench is user-driven by a drive tube/lug wrench combination. The flexion and/or slippage connection cooperates with the key wrench assembly so as to diminish the possibility of operation of the hoist and lowering of the spare tire to the ground by non-authorized users.

  • Patent number: 5021049
Abstract: A sheath for a medical needle device such as a syringe or blood collection device comprises a barrel, hub, cone and shield. The needle device is guided into a visible aperture surrounded by the shield at the top of the cone for ultimate extension of the needle through the hub and into the barrel. The sheath precludes splashing of body fluids onto the user upon capping as well as accidental puncture. The barrel, hub and cone elements of the sheath provide a plurality of friction-fit engagements with the medical needle device to preclude accidental decapping and seepage of fluids from the sheathed needle and onto the user.

  • Patent number: 4998789
Abstract: A method of making a kaleidoscopic drawing utilizes first and second geometric figures corresponding to the perimetrical/cross sectional configuration of a mirror array extending through a kaleidscope. Corresponding vertices of the figures are connected to present planar surfaces corresponding to the actual mirrors of the array. The reflected image is then drawn onto the planar surface as viewed by the artist. Various kaleidoscopes are shown which can be used with and without the described method.

  • Patent number: 4986937
Abstract: An ultrasonic humidifier system which is mounted to an air duct of a heating system. A vibrator excites water within a reservoir so as to create a fog within a fog chamber. A panel directs air flow from an upstream furnace into the fog chamber for interaction of the air flow with the fog. This interaction increases the moisture content of the air flow so as to increase the humidity level thereof. Reed switches are provided to preclude vibration if the level within the reservoir is low and/or if no air stream is delivered from the furnace.

  • Patent number: 4809626
Abstract: An improved shirt to facilitate the wearing of a tie comprises first and second flaps attached to the respective front panels of a shirt. Upon a button/buttonhole engagement on the respective flaps, the overlapped flaps cooperate with the shirt panels to present a pocket for insertion of at least one end of the tie therein. The structure eliminates the dangling ends of the tie as well as allows the display portion of the tie to be bowed away from the shirt. As such both safety and aesthetic factors are addressed.
