Abstract: A smoking article comprising discrete segments of smokable material having an encapsulated flavourant contained within a component of the smokable material to provide a stable release of flavourant at different points during smoking, and in particular in the final puffs. The encapsulated flavourant is incorporated within a reconstituted tobacco material for ease of manufacture and for improved flavour stabilisation. A method of making a segmented smoking article having encapsulated flavourant therein is also provided.

Abstract: A dispensing closure having a tamper evident device. The closure having a spout positionable between an open position and a closed position relative to a closure base. An overcap with a tamper indicating band having an anti-rotational mechanism interacting with the closure base. The closure base has a plurality of projecting flanges engaging the tamper indicating band. The projecting flanges of the closure base curve towards the spout of the dispensing closure. The tamper indicating band of the overcap is supported interiorly by the spout in both the open position and closed position of the spout.

Abstract: A child resistant closure having a ratchet push and turn mechanism. The ratchet push and turn mechanism includes an over cap disposed over an under cap, each with ratchet teeth in operable engagement. The ratchet teeth of the closure may have a groove. Another groove may extend between adjacent ratchet teeth allowing air to escape from between the under cap and the over cap during the assembly process of the closure.

Abstract: A hermetic storage system for storing wipes is provided. The hermetic storage system may include a flexible container, a first member, a second member, and a third member configured for holding the wipes. The flexible container is disposed between the first member and the second member. The third member is releasably coupled to the second member and covers an aperture defined by the second member. The hermetic storage system is configured to provide a hermetic seal when the third member is releasably engaged with the second member.

Abstract: An articulated delivery instrument for the proper positioning and placements of inserts, for example, an insert such as a lumbar interbody fusion device (“LIF”). The instrument may comprise a body and a first member slidingly coupled to the body. A rotating member for releasably retaining an insert may be pivotally coupled to a distal end of the body and the first member. A first actuator may function to translate the first member relative to the body. Translation of the first member relative to the body may rotate the rotating member relative to the instrument. A second actuator may function to transition the rotating member between release and retention of the insert.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are provided to place an insert in a space between boney structures. The insert may be rotatably coupled to the delivery instrument. The delivery instrument may comprise a body and an articulating member. The articulating member may slidably interact with the insert to rotate the insert about a pivot point. A first actuator is operatively coupled to the articulating member such that actuating the first actuator translates the articulating member relative to the body. An engagement member may be coupled to the body and adapted to releasably and rotatably secure the insert to the delivery instrument. The articulating member and the engagement member may be offset from each other in such a manner that when the articulating member engages the insert, the insert rotates relative to the delivery instrument. Alternatively, the insert may be coupled to the delivery instrument via rotatable attachment members.

Abstract: A smoking article in which a patch of web material such as paper containing an adsorbent material therein, such as activated carbon, is positioned towards the mouth end of the smoking article to achieve a flatter puff profile compared to a conventional cigarette by decreasing the smoke constituents in the final few puffs. Characteristics of the smoking articles may be changed to increase the delivery of smoke constituents in the first few puffs in order to maintain a constant ISO NFDPM yield. The adsorbent-containing paper extends over only a portion of the smoking article towards the mouth end and does not comprise a flavorant therein.

The RFID may be active or passive and may be proximate or integral with the top wall or integral with the side wall of the closure. The RFID may be contained within a film wherein a portion of the film is inductively sealed to the closure.

Abstract: A weapon mounting system for securing a weapon such as a machine gun to a platform comprises a cradle assembly including a pair of opposed front and rear flanges having apertures therein for engaging a retaining pin to secure a weapon thereto. The cradle assembly of the present invention is formed of a single piece of high strength material, for example aluminum stainless steel or titanium. The cradle assembly further includes a pair of pintle flanges to engage a pintle, thereby enabling rotation of cradle and concomitant weapon around two axes.

Abstract: A SEGWAY adapted with a mechanism to manually override the rider detection mechanical sensors to allow a golfer to choose to ride or not ride the SEGWAY while playing golf. A handle attachment extends outwardly enabling the golfer to manually steer and thus control the speed and direction of the SEGWAY while not riding the SEGWAY. The golfer can ride, walk, or run as desired in unison with the improved SEGWAY. A rider detection override mechanism is positioned under each existing step pad. A counterweight is placed at the rear of the SEGWAY to balance the SEGWAY when there is no rider present.

Abstract: A filter media product and method of making the same wherein the filter media is pleatable and has at least one support scrim comprised of a melt bonded non-woven material or a fuse bonded non-woven material bonded to a layer of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene. The filter media may have a single support scrim with one or more layers and optionally may have a support scrim on both an upstream and downstream surface where both or neither support scrim is multilayered. The filter media may have an efficiency greater than, equal to, or less than HEPA.

Abstract: A punch deflection gauge is provided having a die adaptor, indicator base, and dial indicator. An indicator stem of the dial indicator measures deflection of a punch in a punch orifice. In some embodiments a plurality of variably sized die adaptors may be provided and removably attachable to the same indicator base.
