Abstract: The invention relates to an air flap supply device for the controlled supply of burner air to a combustion engine, wherein a damper flap element, within a damper flap housing element, and connected to a damper flap shaft element can be adjusted by a positioning movement using at least one retraction unit designed as a magnetically homo-polar counter movement unit, wherein, at least two magnet elements with the same magnetic polarity (N, S) are located opposite to one another, and moveable in relation to each other, preferably in a rotary fashion to one another.
Abstract: A switch comprising a molded housing having a cavity, and a set of electrical terminals formed within said cavity, with a displaceable elongated contact arm selectively forming a circuit between said set of terminals, wherein said displaceable elongated contact arm comprises a base having a formed edge which mates with said molded housing inside said cavity, to align said displaceable elongated contact arm with respect to said set of terminals. A method for forming a switch, comprising the steps of providing a molded housing having interior sidewalls defining a cavity, and a set of electrical terminals formed within the cavity; inserting a displaceable elongated contact arm within the cavity, the displaceable elongated contact arm having a base with formed edges which mate with the sidewalls, to align the displaceable elongated contact arm with respect to the set of terminals.
Abstract: A sequence of word filters are used to eliminate terms in the database which do not discriminate document content, resulting in a filtered word set and a topic word set whose members are highly predictive of content. These two word sets are then formed into a two dimensional matrix with matrix entries calculated as the conditional probability that a document will contain a word in a row given that it contains the word in a column. The matrix representation allows the resultant vectors to be utilized to interpret document contents.
Abstract: The invention relates to a resonator system with at least two folding elements for folding the beam path. Said folding elements serve to restrict the divergence angle of the radiation. The inventive resonator system is further characterized in that the respective folding is caused by reflection on a reflecting surface of the respective folding element. The beam axis of the radiation and the surface normal of the respective reflecting area are positioned at an angle relative to each other that is greater than the critical angle for the total reflection but smaller than the sum of the critical angle for the total reflection plus the divergence angle of the radiation.

Abstract: The cockpit access protection system relies upon pass codes for an aircraft and utilizes the galley area as a security area to verify a person's identity before allowing access to the cockpit. The system includes normal operation to ensure that unauthorized personnel do not gain access to the cockpit. Upon breach of security, the cockpit door is automatically locked by a computer on the ground. A false signal of security breach can be overcome by an authorized flight crew member communicating with ground control upon verification that the report of a false security breach is not made under duress. The system also allows emergency access to the cockpit in the event of a medical or other similar emergency.
Abstract: A position selector device having:
(a) an inverted cup-like base body with an upper portion and a side portion;
(b) a substantially cylindrical rotary member mounted on a shaft, and arranged to rotate within the base body;
(c) a first position sensor for sensing the angular position of the rotary member;
(d) a toothed ring arranged to provide raster movement of the rotary member;
(e) a disk disposed centrally within the upper portion of the base body and arranged for tilting and/or lateral displacement within the base body;
(f) a second position sensor for sensing the tilting and/or lateral displacement; and
(g) a magnet arrangement for restoring said disk to its central position in said base body after its tilting and/or lateral displacement movement.
Abstract: According to the invention, the lumen channel, which passes through a guide catheter and an insertion valve, said insertion valve being connected to said guide catheter, is also provided with a shut-off device at a certain point. Said shut-off device enables the lumen to be closed off by means of clamping. In the clamped position, the shut-off device therefore prevents blood from escaping from the insertion valve when it is necessary to open said insertion valve, for example, in order to introduce a treatment catheter.
Abstract: An auxiliary device (100) is provided for repairing a pipeline and sealing small damages (5) in a wall (4) of a pipeline. A working space (8) is created between the interior of the pipeline (93) and the outer circumference of the base element (22) when the auxiliary device (100) for repairing a pipeline is pushed into a pipeline. The working space (8) can be sealed in the axial direction of the pipeline (3) and in a jointing manner by way of the expanding sealing collars (24,25). The auxiliary device (100) is provided with a transport module (40) that is articulated to the sealing module (20). The device can be transported through the fluid flow by means of the transport module (40).
Abstract: A flexible sandwich panel (100), comprised of a center layer (1) and one or two outer layers (2; 3), where the center layer is made of a polymeric synthetic material, is itself flexible and exhibits a coarse-cell honeycomb structure with open cells (4) in the direction of the upper and lower side of the center layer. The outer layer or layers consist of a hardened mortar that is made flexible with synthetic additives, and that have as their core a web material consisting essentially of fibers, where the exterior side (5) of the hardened outer layer is left unrefined or roughcast in a plaster-like manner. The sandwich panel can be bent without flaking of the outer layers.
Abstract: Holding device (100) for a roof drainage gutter (1) with gutter brackets (2.n) matched to the contour of the gutter profile, with each gutter bracket provided with a headpiece (3.n) that, in installed condition, is positioned on the end (13) of the gutter bracket toward the building, and with a securing rail (4.n) with a C- or U-shaped profile into which the headpiece may be inserted and secured. Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a structured, voluminous non-woven web or velourised film from a thermoplastic by producing an unstructured web and subsequently processing this web using a pair of rollers (10a, 10b). The pair of rollers consists of a positive roller (10a) having numerous positive bodies distributed over the roll sleeve surface and a negative roller (10b) having equally as numerous cavities. During the rolling process, the positive bodies engage with the cavities and stretch the unstructured web in the area of the roller engagements in such a way that a deep-drawn web structure with numerous cavities is produced. After the web has passed through a roller gap, the deformed web, still bonded to the positive roller, is brought into contact with a perforating tool and perforated.

Abstract: A device and method are disclosed for exposing a digital image onto light-sensitive material. The device includes an image generation device that is controlled by a control device according to image data. In addition, the device has an optical system for reproducing the image onto light-sensitive material that is supported by a stage. The reader device (3) is subjected to a ninety degree rotation and/or linear displacement by a distance of several pixels, as necessary, before and/or during the digitization process so as to provide optimum digital resolution for a variety of image formats.

Abstract: A method for making a bouillon, comprising providing meat, and meat extract and/or bone extract; lactic acid fermenting at least an extract portion, or further providing lactic acid fermentation products; and dehydrating the mixture of meat and meat extract and/or bone extract. Vegetables and/or spices may also be added. The bouillon is readily extractable in hot water within a short period. A preferred product achieves a target flavor profile of beef consommé.

Abstract: A glass composition to be softened is fed to a heating zone and is shaped continuously into a cylindrical component in a deformation zone, and the cross-sectional geometry of the component is determined. A feed device, a heating device, and a take-off device are provided, and a glass composition is supplied continuously by the feed device to the heating device, where it is softened, the component being formed from the softened glass composition by means of the take-off device under formation of a deformation zone. To produce a component with only slight deviations from the desired cross-sectional geometry and to provide a flexible apparatus suitable for this purpose, the glass composition is locally heated or cooled in at least one deformation area, which extends over only a part of the circumference of the deformation zone, as a function of a determined deviation of the cross-sectional geometry from a nominal geometry.

Abstract: The invention relates to an operation system for supporting microsurgery operations, e.g., operations through which the natural crystalline lens is replaced by an artificial intraocular lens. Abstract: A device and a method for exposure of visual data onto light-sensitive recording material, a light source which emits light in at least one color, and a control unit for regulating the light amount. The control unit is connected to a light measuring unit. The light measuring unit has at least two detectors, which measure at least two different spectral components of the same exposure color. The control unit and the light measuring device form a closed loop control circuit.
