Abstract: A series of transport carts are positioned in side by side relation in fore and aft extending spaced apart rows disposed along a delivery van to leave an aisle between them. The carts have wheel supported upright frames with bottom supports for the products disposed at a level above the floor of the van and open fronts from which the carts can be unloaded. The carts have rear posts which are disengageably locked in track sections provided in longitudinally spaced relation along the van side walls. Pallets with discs projecting downwardly from the floors of the pallets support the product stacks on the cart bottom supports. A hand truck with a bifurcated nose plate defining disc receiving arms engages under each pallet to enable removal of a pallet and product stack from the cart.

Abstract: A water treatment tank for use with water purification apparatus including an ultra-violet lamp within an encapsulating sleeve onto which incoming water is directed to provide a thin laminar flow about the bulb. The lower compartment has cooling coils about the walls for cooling the water therein relative to the water in the upper compartment. A surrounding sleeve may be located intermediate the encapsulating sleeve and an outer vessel in the tank. A leak detector is located in the encapsulating sleeve. The leak detector and outer vessel are believed to provide safety to users in the event of internal breakage in the tank. A reflective surface is also utilized to direct UV light into portions of the faucets formerly obscured from UV treatment. The faucets preferably provide self-sanitizing capability and an information center selectively displays time until next service, cost savings over bottled water and information related to the dispenser.
Abstract: A surgical retractor having a lateral rack with two longitudinal arms extending therefrom. At least one of the arms has a curved segment. It is preferable that the curved segment extend at least one third the length of the arm and be concavely oriented toward the opposing arm.
Abstract: A breast compression device for use with a conventional mammography system is disclosed. The device comprises a paddle support frame which is slidably connected to a conventional mammography system's compression paddle carriage. A mounting arm may be provided for attaching the paddle support frame to the mammography system. The device further comprises a compression surface having a chest wall end and a nipple end. The paddle support frame is located between the x-ray tube and the detector of the mammography system. The compression surface of the device is comprised of three angled segments which conform to the normal contours of the breast.
Abstract: An improved rotatable battery cable clamp connector is designed for use with applying pressure to legs of the clamp intermediate the cable section and post section of the clamp. Self-lubricating and non-corrosive materials are also used to advantage in the manufacture of the connector.
Abstract: A chemical distribution apparatus contains at least one, and preferably multiple chambers which house magazines which accept solid lawn treatment chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, lime treatments, pre-emergents, post-emergents, and the like. As water is passed into the chemical distribution apparatus, it is preferably selectively controlled by a controller to a particular chamber for distribution of a particular chemical in accordance with a pre-set schedule.

Abstract: A method of treating wastewater sources such as those from pulp and paper mills which contain lignin involves adding white rot fungi in the presence of glucose. While glucose may be directly added to the wastewater source, it has been found to be more economical to reduce or substantially remove color from the wastewater by additionally adding brown rot fungi in the presence of cellulose and hemi-cellulose. The addition of bacteria has also been found helpful to improve the reduction in color, biological oxygen demand, as well as chemical oxygen demand in wastewater.
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for manufacturing nutritionally balanced food compositions suitable for retort sterilization which have a low pH, extended shelf life, high antimicrobial activity, and which include protein in a stable emulsion. The primary protein source for the food composition is caseinates or milk protein concentrates and isolates comprised mostly of casein. The process includes two homogenization steps.
Abstract: A point to multipoint system includes utilizing the FM 57 kHz Radio Broadcast Data System (RBDS) standard and a novel receiver. A single broadcast source sends messages from multiple senders, in a variety of manners including automatically and semi-automatically, to a plurality or receivers who may select to receive or not to receive particular senders' messages. The receiver may be remotely programmable, and may institute actions upon receipt of predetermined stimuli such as a smoke alarm tone. Various automatic and semiautomatic message initiators could include water level detectors, burglar ar alarms, school bus locators.
Abstract: An imbedded flooring product has a skeletal frame in the form of a mesh intermediate a first and second vinyl layer. The mesh creates a pattern visible from above the flooring product.

Abstract: A balloon knot tying device that has a base with dual rods provided for stretching the leading end of an inflated balloon around to assist in tying a permanent knot. Each rod having at least two diameters to provide a retaining edge so the balloon will not slide down onto the base during the knot tying operation. The base with dual rods can be attached to different holding devices such as a ring shaped device for inserting at least 1 finger or a handle shaped device for gripping. The knot tying operation consisting of holding the balloon against the side of the device and stretching the leading end around the rods to form a loop. The leading end is then crossed under the loop through a relief area and up between the two rods. The leading end is then pulled off of the rods to form a permanent knot.
Abstract: A resettable target is provided with pivotable targets that rotate from a downward position to an upward position and are reset by reverse rotation when momentum is transmitted from a projectile to a reset target.
Abstract: A tufting machine utilizing a plurality of yarn ends proceeding through a single needle cooperates with a yarn tension device which selectively applies a different tension to at least one of the plurality of yarn ends proceeding through the needle. Accordingly, a pattern or design can be provided in tufted fabric as the lower tension (higher speed) yarn ends will extend a higher distance from a fabric than lower tension yarn ends.
Abstract: A surgical retractor has a body and a socket laterally receiving a connector head. The socket cavity is offset from a loading axis extending to the mouth of the slot. The slot laterally receives the connector head as directed towards the socket cavity where it is retained in a locked configuration. The socket cavity is offset from the loading axis.
Abstract: A J-channel is provided with a retainer which biases an inserted siding panel against a cantilevered end of an outer face of the J-channel. The retainer has an engagement tab biased from a wall member which is preferably connected to an inner face of the J-channel member. An engagement tab and an inwardly directed lip at the cantilevered end of the outer face preferably retained an inserted panel therebetween.
Abstract: The present invention provides a double end yarn drive pattern attachment for tufting machines characterized by independent servo-motor control of yarn feed rolls capable of increased torque to carry multiple yarn ends on a single feed roll, thereby economically retaining many advantages of a single end pattern attachment. The improved attachment utilizes an intermediate gear to provide a relatively high torque drive adaptable between single and plural yarn pattern attachments.
