  • Patent number: 8240683
Abstract: The invention as presently conceived discloses an apparatus that combines the maneuverability of a heavy-duty two-wheel hand truck with an integral battery-powered lifting system. The base of the sliding frame has two outriggers for enhanced stability. The apparatus is provided with a lifting platform similar to a forklift. The lifting force is provided by a winch which retracts or extends a stainless steel cable with a distal hook. Such an arrangement is capable of lifting thousands of pounds. The winch is powered by an on-board 12 volt deep cycle battery. A control panel is situated on the rear of the hand truck for battery power operation. The apparatus can be used to raise loads slightly for transport in a conventional hand truck manner; or alternatively, the apparatus can be used to lift larger equipment including small vehicles.

  • Patent number: 8230522
Abstract: A pair of work gloves with an attached directional illumination device is disclosed. A miniature illumination device is affixed thereto the back of the hand area of the work glove via hook-and-loop fasteners. The lighting device takes the form of a small enclosure that houses batteries and a lens with a reflected array of forward facing high-intensity light emitting diodes (LED's). A pushbutton switch is located on top of the case for on/off operation. In use, the apparatus provides a high level of illumination directly in front of the person's hands allowing use while working at night, when light levels are low, as well as in cramped areas where nearby objects restrict the effectiveness of remote lighting devices. The invention is especially valuable in situations where it is impossible to hold a flashlight such as when one needs both hands to perform work.

  • Patent number: 8230774
Abstract: An all-in-one home appliance that performs the preparation, mixing and heating of multiple infant bottles, is herein disclosed. The apparatus comprises a countertop appliance with three (3) reservoirs comprising water, formula, and cereal, respectively. Inside the base of the appliance is a turnstile that holds up to five (5) empty bottles that have been previously sterilized by the user. In operation, the user would select the bottle size and the necessary recipe of water, formula, and cereal, respectively, using an integral control panel. At this point, internal control circuitry dispenses pre-heated water and dry ingredients in proper ratios into a mixing chamber. After mixing of the ingredients, the mixture is delivered into the proper sized bottle. Finally, internal heaters maintain the bottles at a constant selected temperature. An automatic alarm is then sounded when the prepared bottles are ready. This apparatus ensures preparation of baby bottles having consistent ingredients, mixing, and heating.

  • Patent number: 8218807
Abstract: An apparatus that allows a standard straight microphone stand to be used as a boom-style microphone stand is herein disclosed comprising an extender having a tapered cylindrical section that essentially converts the standard straight microphone stand to a boom-type stand. In use, a person would insert the standard microphone into the tapered cylindrical extender while routing the microphone cable through the slot running the length of the cylinder. Next, the small tapered end is then secured to a standard microphone stand using a friction fit to keep it in place. The device therefore provides a useable microphone extension without the possibility of tipping the stand over. The device is to be provided in various lengths suitable to various microphone applications.
