Abstract: The present invention provides systems, methods, and computer program products for altering delivery of a piece by altering either the delivery address, mode of processing, and/or the mode of delivery. The invention provide an indicia associated with the piece of mail including instructions that are at least one of a different delivery address, mode of processing, or a mode of delivery than that originally designated for the piece of mail. During mail sorting and processing, the indicia associated with the piece of mail are analyzed. Either the delivery address, mode of processing, and/or mode of delivery currently associated with the piece of mail are altered to conform with the delivery address, mode of processing, and/or mode of delivery indicated by the indicia. In some embodiments, the indicia is altered by on a business parameter, such as a monetary value associated with the contents of the piece of mail.

Abstract: A system and method for controlling preferences for messages that includes receiving a message from a sender to a recipient, determining if the message will be received by the recipient based on message policies for the recipient, and notifying the sender that the message will not be received by the recipient and when it will be received responsive to the determination that the message will not be received by the recipient.

Abstract: A source communication device includes a source network clock to control timing of communicating with other devices in a network, a source streaming clock associated with processing of audio or video data, a time stamp generator to generate a time stamp that includes a source network clock value and a source streaming clock value, and a time stamp insertion mechanism that incorporates the time stamp into a data unit that is to be transmitted to one of the other devices in the network. A sink communication device includes a sink network clock synchronized with the source network clock, a sink streaming clock associated with processing of audio or video data, and a sink time stamp mechanism to compare a sink streaming clock value with the source streaming clock value, and adjust the sink streaming clock based on the comparison.

Abstract: Method and system for registration of licensed modules in mobile devices. The present invention provides for a registration system to determine active use of licensed modules installed in mobile devices such as wireless cellular terminals and PDA's. The registration system can be made to operate in a manner that is substantially transparent to the user of the mobile device. In example embodiments, a module handler within the processor platform of the mobile device collects module parameters as necessary and causes registration messages to be assembled and sent. In some embodiments, encryption is provided. User interaction with the registration process can also optionally be accommodated. Additionally, the module handler can direct that use of the software module or package is restricted until an acknowledgement is returned from the module activation system, confirming the registration.

Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for a system for securing a load to a platform such as a coil to a transport system. The system includes a frame adapted for placement on a platform. The frame includes a cradle structure for engaging the load. An inflatable bladder is placed over the load and connected to the frame. When tensioned and inflated with gas, the bladder applies force to the load to secure the load to the frame and prevent movement of the coil during transport.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to systems, methods, and computer program products for client/customer-centric macro (e.g., business-wide) monitoring of business performance and determination of business-wide customer impact trends associated with the client's/customer's composite relationship with the business. Additionally, embodiments provide for determining customer impact trends at other levels of the business relationship, such as at business unit/line of business levels, product/service levels and the like. Based on the determined customer impact trends, further determinations may be made regarding whether alerts are warranted based on the trends, and generating and communicating the alerts if warranted. Determining business-wide customer impact trends provides for the business to identify problems or potential problems that may adversely impact the global relationship between the overall client entity and the business implementing the performance monitoring system.

Abstract: A method of preparing phytosterols from tall oil pitch containing steryl esters comprises the steps of converting the steryl esters to free phytosterols while in the pitch to produce a modified pitch containing the free phytosterols; removing light ends from the modified pitch by evaporation to produce a bottom fraction containing the free phytosterols; evaporating the bottom fraction to produce a light phase distillate containing the free phytosterols; dissolving the light phase distillate in a solvent comprising an alcohol to produce a solution containing the free phytosterols; cooling the solution to produce a slurry with the free phytosterols crystallized in the slurry; and, washing and filtering the slurry to isolate the crystallized phytosterols.

A CNC system including a cutting tool operates on a work piece in at least three axes, with a gantry across the machine that a carriage moves along and a tool that moves vertically on the carriage. A drive bar, oriented perpendicularly to the gantry and to a vertical axis, may travel to support and move the workpiece along its line of orientation. The drive bar may include an elongated structural member, two tracks mounted longitudinally to the elongated member on opposite sides of the elongated member, and a rack, adapted to accept a pinion to urge the drive bar to move, also mounted longitudinally to the elongated member. Guide wheels may receive the tracks to support and align the drive bar. Rollers may further support material that is mounted to the drive bar.

Abstract: Throttling of an iterative process in a computer system is disclosed. Embodiments of the present invention focus on non-productive iterations of an iterative process in a computer system. The number of productive iterations of the iterative process during a current timeframe is determined while the iterative process is executing. A count of the number of process starts for the iterative process during the current timeframe is stored. The count can be normalized to obtain a number of units of work handled during the current timeframe. A throttling schedule can be calculated, and the throttling schedule can be stored in the computer system. The throttling schedule can then be used to determine a delay time between iterations of the iterative process for a new timeframe. A formula can be used to calculate the throttling schedule. The throttling schedule can be overridden in accordance with a service level agreement (SLA), as well as for other reasons.

A method of operating a window covering cutting machine comprises a) packaging a window covering comprising components in a package such that first ends of the components extend beyond a first end of the package and second ends of the components extend beyond a second end of the package; b) automatically moving the package and components in a first direction of travel against a first squaring surface such that the first ends of the components are in a common plane; c) cutting the first ends of the components; d) automatically moving the package and components in a second direction of travel against a second squaring surface such that the second ends of the components are in a common plane; and e) cutting the second ends of the components.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for monitoring the daily performance, as measured by customer impact, of technology systems that interface between a company and its customers. To do so, for example, embodiments of the present invention record, on a daily basis, the number of failed interactions between the company's customers and its technology systems, and, based on the recorded number of failed interactions, embodiments of the present invention provide performance measurements of the company's technology systems.
