Abstract: A first swash plate 18 is coupled to a drive shaft 16 to be rotatable integrally with the drive shaft 16. Single head pistons 23 are coupled to the first swash plate 18 via shoes 25A, 25B. Rotation of the drive shaft 16 rotates the first swash plate 18, which causes the pistons 23 to reciprocate and compress refrigerant gas. The first swash plate 18 supports an annular second swash plate 51 to be rotatable relative to the first swash plate 18 via a ball bearing 52. The second swash plate 51 is arranged between the first swash plate 18and the shoes 25B that receive a compressive load to be slidable with respect to the first swash plate 18 and the shoes 25B. Therefore, the first swash plate reliably slides with respect to the second swash plate.

Abstract: A headlight of the elliptical type comprises an occulting or masking screen which defines a cut-off profile in the light beam emitted by a light source, the beam being a regulation lighting beam for use in wet weather, with a cut-off profile. This beam includes a zone of reduced illumination which is situated below the cut-off line. The occulting screen includes at least one generally transverse portion which is made of transparent material and which lies above the cut-off line. This transparent portion includes a zone of reduced transparency which forms the zone of reduced illumination within the regulation lighting beam.
Abstract: A zoom lens system is disclosed which comprises in order from an object side to an image side: a first lens unit with a positive optical power (inverse of the focal length), a second lens unit with a negative optical power; and one or more lens units; and with which at least one of the first lens unit and the second lens unit is moved during zooming. By specifying the optical characteristics (shape, material, focal length, etc.) of the lens elements making up the second lens unit in the zoom lens system, a high zoom ratio is obtained with a simple arrangement, and an optical system, which can adequately accommodate even the use of a solid-state image pickup element with a large number of pixels, is realized.

Abstract: A controller for an exhaust purifier performs idle-up to increase the idle speed of a diesel engine when an intake air amount, which is based on the atmospheric pressure and the engine speed, is less than a reference air amount of when a throttle valve is completely open and an EGR valve is completely closed during the regeneration of the filter. The controller performs idle-up by increasing the amount of fuel injected from the fuel injection valves of the diesel engine.

A movable flap is coupled to a first motor pivoting the movable flap between at least two positions. A casing which coupled to a second motor can be rotated, with respect to a fixed frame, along an axis which is essentially vertical and essentially perpendicular to the optical axis. The casing also includes at least one compartment for receiving and holding the first motor and the second motor.
Abstract: In an image sensing apparatus which has a camera shake correction function of performing a camera shake correction on a plurality of images sensed by an image sensing unit by extracting a partial image from each of the sensed images on the basis of correlation between the sensed images, a camera shake amount of said image sensing apparatus is detected, and said image sensing unit is exposed for a first exposure time period when the camera shake amount is equal to or less than a predetermined amount. When the camera shake amount is greater than the predetermined amount, said image sensing unit is exposed for a second exposure time period which is shorter than the first exposure time period, image signals of a plurality of images which undergo the camera shake correction are added, and the added image signals is output as one image.
Abstract: Disclosed is a compact zoom lens system having a image stabilizing function. This zoom lens system is provided with a plurality of lens units of which the interval between adjacent ones is changed during zooming. Shake correction is effected by a part of a lens unit of negative optical power of the plurality of lens units. Specifically, the lens unit of negative optical power is comprised of two lens components of negative optical power, and one of these two lens components is moved so as to have a component in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis to thereby change the imaging position of the zoom lens system.

Abstract: A linkage mechanism between a zoom strobe device and a zoom finder device, which contributes to reduced size of a camera, and can control the illumination range of the zoom strobe device and the magnification of a finder optical system of the zoom finder device. A cam plate is disposed linearly movably in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis of a zoom lens barrel unit. The linear motion of the cam plate changes the magnification of the zoom finder optical system and the range of illumination with strobe light. A linkage member is disposed movable along the optical axis. The linkage member has an engaging portion for being engaged with a cam groove formed in the outer periphery of a drive ring, and moves along the optical axis as the engaging portion moves following the cam groove along with rotation of the drive ring, thereby causing the cam plate to move linearly along the optical axis.
