Abstract: A method executes software including a view hierarchy with a plurality of views which displays one or more views of the view hierarchy. The method executes software elements associated with a particular view, wherein each particular view includes event recognizers. Each event recognizer has an event definition based on sub-events, and an event handler that specifies an action for a target, and is configured to send the action to the target in response to an event recognition. The method detects a sequence of sub-events, and identifies one of the views of the view hierarchy as a hit view that establishes which views in the hierarchy are actively involved views. The method delivers a respective sub-event to event recognizers for each actively involved view, wherein each event recognizer for actively involved views in the view hierarchy processes the respective sub-event prior to processing a next sub-event in the sequence of sub-events.

Abstract: There is provided an image processing apparatus having an image segmentation unit that divides image formation into image areas in a first direction, a random number memory that stores random numbers, a reference position determination unit that determines a reference position so as to vary in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, a pixel determination unit that determines a pixel as a target to be subjected to correction processing of pixel insertion into or pixel reduction from each of the image areas, for the each of the image areas, according to the stored random numbers and the determined reference position, among pixels in the each of the image areas, and an image width change unit that performs the correction processing on the determined pixel to change an image width of the image information in the first direction.
Abstract: In an embodiment, a computer-implemented method operating at a server system is disclosed. The server hosts and electronic procurement system. A first user purchase request to purchase an item is received, and a second user purchase request to purchase the same item is received. A determination is made if there is sufficient stock of the item available to fulfill both user purchase requests. The first and second user purchase requests are prioritized, if there is insufficient stock of the item available to fulfill both purchase requests. A purchase order is generated for at least one of the first and second user purchase requests in accordance with the prioritizing. Related methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cuffing insert for turning in heat resistant superalloys and stainless steels comprising a very fine grained hard substrate and a coating. The substrate comprises WC from about 5 to about 8 wt % Co and from about 0.3 to about 1.5 wt % Cr. In addition to that ppm levels of Ti and Ta are present. The ratio of Me/Co=(at-% Ti+ at-% Nb+ at-% Ta)/at-% Co is lower than or equal to about 0.014?(CW_Cr)*0.008 and higher than about 0.0005. The average sintered WC-grain size is from about 0.5 to about 0.95 ?m and CW_Cr from about 0.75 to about 0.95. The cemented carbide body is coated with a PVD TixAl1-xN-coating with an average composition of x being greater than about 0.4 but less than about 0.9, present as a single or multilayer coating with a total thickness of from about 1 to about 6 ?m.
Abstract: One or more frame slots to each transceiver are allocated for communication within each message cycle. The number of frame slots allocated can be dynamically adjusted to accommodate variable traffic loads per transceiver, and an offset of the frame slots within the message cycle is preferably predefined to provide a uniform distribution among the transceivers. The design of the transceiver is independent of the particular application, having at least one programmable parameter that controls the number of frame slots allocated within the message cycle. By controlling the number of frame slots allocated to a transceiver, the amount of inactive time, and hence battery life, can be controlled. When a conflict occurs among multiple transceivers having pending messages at the same frame slot, the allocation of the frame slot to a transceiver is based at least in part on the resultant lag time to each transceiver.

Abstract: A system and method for executing replication requests for objects in a distributed storage system is provided. A replication queue is identified from a plurality of replication queues corresponding to a replication key. The replication key includes information related to at least a source storage device in a distributed storage system at which objects are located and a destination storage device in the distributed storage system to which the objects are to be replicated. A distributed database is scanned using an identifier of the replication queue to produce a list of replication requests corresponding to the replication queue. The records of the distributed database are distributed across a plurality of nodes of the distributed database. The replication requests in the list of replication requests are executed in priority order. Replication requests are deleted from the distributed database only when the replication requests are complete.
