Abstract: A fingerprint identifying system includes a light source, a light-transmissive finger press plate, and an image-capturing unit. The light-transmissive finger press plate is disposed to receive light from the light source, and has a top face adapted to contact a finger, a bottom face, and at least one first microstructure layer formed on at least one of the top and bottom faces of the light-transmissive finger press plate for guiding the light received from the light source to uniformly scatter. The image-capturing unit is disposed below the light-transmissive finger press plate.
Abstract: A system and apparatus are described for removably mounting one or more hard disk drives within a computer system. According to one embodiment, the system includes a disk drive carrier cage configured to receive a disk drive backplane and up to eight pair of disk drive carrier rails. The disk drive carrier cage is sized for insertion into a drive bay having the dimensions of two optical mass storage devices compatible with a 5.25 inch form factor. The system also includes a disk drive backplane for receiving up to eight hard disk drives, disk drive carriers for holding the hard disk drives, and disk drive carrier rails mountable within the disk drive carrier cage for slidably receiving the disk drive carriers. The disk drive carriers and disk drive carrier rails are translucent thereby permitting light emanating from the backplane to be viewed at the front of the cage.
Abstract: This invention provides an auto-focusing lens driving device having a movable member, the movable member comprising: a cylinder-shaped lens carrier whose exterior is wound with a coil and whose interior defines a hollow portion for receiving an optical system; and two separate conductive elastic pieces which are each disposed at one side of the cylinder-shaped lens carrier along an optical axis; wherein each one of the two ends of the coil is micro-welded and joined to a corresponding one of the two conductive elastic pieces by thermal pressing technique, and a thermal pressing region having an area of less than 1 mm2 is formed at the end of the coil.
Abstract: A method for assist in focal length detection is adapted to a digital camera having a flash. The method includes the following steps. First, the flash of the digital camera is actuated and an image having a face portion is captured. Afterwards, an exposure feature value of the face portion in the image is calculated. A focus range comparison table is looked up according to the exposure feature value to obtain an initial focus position. Then, a focus procedure is performed according to the initial focus position to obtain a target focal length. After the target focal length is obtained, a flash feature value of the image is further calculated, and a guide number (GN) and a diaphragm value are set according to the flash feature value.
Abstract: A method for tracking a pollution source in process water is presented. Firstly, variation curves of drain water drained from different rinsing tanks are respectively obtained, and a water quality concentration of the drain water drained to a buffer tank is detected, so as to output a water quality variation curve. Then, an analytical comparison is performed on each drain water amount variation curve and the water quality variation curve within a same time interval, so as to output an analytical result of each flow of drain water in a range exceeding a predetermined water quality standard. In this manner, the drain water that exceeds the predetermined water quality standard can be tracked in real-time according to the analytical result, thereby quickly improving the process for discharging the drain water.

Abstract: This invention provides a photographing optical lens assembly, from an object side to an image side in order, comprising a first lens element with positive refractive power having a convex object-side surface, a second lens element with negative refractive power having a concave image-side surface, a third lens element with positive refractive power, a fourth lens element with negative refractive power having a concave image-side surface, both the two surfaces of the fourth lens thereof being aspheric. Abstract: The invention includes a harmonic suppression circuit, an injection-locked frequency divider circuit (ILFD) and associated methods. The harmonic suppression circuit comprises a source voltage, two suppression modules, two input terminals, two smoothed output terminals and a ground. The ILFD comprises a ground, an input transistor, an input terminal, two divider legs, two output terminals and a source voltage. The associated method to improve harmonic suppression comprises acts of synthesizing differential-phase signals and simultaneously suppressing second harmonics of in-phase signals. The method to extent an ILFD's locking range comprises acts of decreasing quality factor while keeping resonance frequency constant.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a frequency jittering device and method, and a switching power supply employing such frequency jittering device. Said method comprises: S1 generating a variable logic number; S2 generating a delay signal; S3 generating a PWM control signal according to the variable logic number and the delay signal; S4 generating an output signal according to the PWM control signal; and S5 generating a clock signal with variable frequency according to the output signal; wherein, the clock signal is fed back to update the variable logic number, and a jittering clock signal modified in each clock cycle is produced. The benefit of the present invention is not only can apply small low cost EMI filter but also can keep the noise floor level low enough at light load condition.

Abstract: The present invention provides an optical imaging lens assembly comprising, in order from an object side to an image side: a first lens element with positive refractive power having a convex object-side surface; a second lens element with negative refractive power having a concave object-side surface; and a third lens element with negative refractive power having a concave image-side surface, at least one of the object-side and image-side surfaces thereof being aspheric. With the aforementioned arrangement of lens elements, the total track length of the optical imaging lens assembly can be effectively reduced, the sensitivity of the optical system can be attenuated, a large field of view can be achieved and the image quality can be improved.

Abstract: An optically active material is used to create power devices and circuits having significant performance advantages over conventional methods for affecting optical control of power electronics devices and circuits. A silicon-carbide optically active material is formed by compensating shallow donors with the boron related D-center. The resulting material can be n-type or p-type but it is distinguished from other materials by the ability to induce persistent photoconductivity in it when illuminated by electromagnetic radiation with a photon energy in excess of the threshold energy required to photoexcite electrons from the D-center to allowed states close to the conduction band edge, which varies from polytype to polytype.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a breadmaker, in which the heating element is shieldingly protected in the shell body without being exposed outside so as to prevent people's hand from touching and being hurt by the heating element, more important, it is able to avoid getting flour falling onto the heating element and being baked excessively to stick on the heating element which may lead to a fire, thus the breadmaker of the present invention is more safely to operate and conforms to the requirements of European safety standards. The breadmaker comprises a shielding member for the heating element, and the shielding member is disposed between the heating element and the upper opening of the bread vessel, the downward projection of the shielding member can completely cover the contour of the heating element so as to completely shield the heating element from the above.
Abstract: A color interpolation method for a digital image is described, includes the following steps. Edge information is generated according to the Bayer pattern. A Bayer pattern image is processed by a horizontal band-pass filter and a vertical band-pass filter to generate a horizontal edge signal and a vertical edge signal. A weight process implements a weight adjustment on the horizontal edge signal and the vertical edge signal to generate a luminance signal and outputs the luminance signal to a subtraction unit. The subtraction unit carries out an operation according to the Bayer pattern image and an output result of the weight process to generate a chrominance pattern. The chrominance pattern is compensated through a chrominance interpolation process, so as to generate image signal patterns of different colors. The image signal patterns of different colors are output to an adder for an add operation, thereby outputting a complete color image.
Abstract: A magnetic transmission assembly is adapted to integration with a motor or generator. The magnetic transmission assembly includes a rotor, a stator, and a magnetically conductive element. The rotor and the stator are sleeved coaxially and respectively have R and ST1 pole pairs. The magnetically conductive element is located between the rotor and the stator, and has steel pieces. When the magnetically conductive element is actuated, the magnetically conductive element selectively enables PN1 or PN2 steel pieces to be corresponding to the rotor and the stator. The steel pieces corresponding to the rotor and the stator interact with magnetic fields of the R and ST1 pole pairs to generate a predetermined variable-speed ratio. The magnetic transmission assembly can be integrated into the motor, so as to improve the drive power density.

Abstract: A noise suppression method using multiple digital images performs a de-noising process with the multiple digital images. First, a feature weighting procedure and an image feature compensation of a target pixel are performed on each digital image, and then a cross reference is performed on the multiple continuous or similar digital images to suppress noises for the target pixel.
Abstract: A wastewater treatment apparatus and method with stair-like heat treatment tanks for performing a breakdown process are disclosed, in which the apparatus comprises: a mixing tank, for evenly mixing wastewater with reaction agents and thus forming a mixed solution; a plurality of heat treatment tanks, for enabling the mixed solution to circulate therein while being heating for a period of time so as to perform an organic destruction process upon the mixed solution and thus cause a discharging liquid to be formed; a heat exchanger, for enabling a heat exchanging process between the discharging liquid and the mixed solution to be performed therein; a condensation tank, for receiving and cooling the discharging liquid; a water purifier, for purifying and thus separating the discharging water into a cleaned water and a concentrated liquid for outputting; an agent recycling unit, for electrolyzing the concentrated liquid so as to recycle the reaction agents.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a utility meter assembly comprising: a plurality of meter components configured for measuring and collecting data, wherein the meter components include a transceiver operative for signal communications over a network; a faceplate, configured such that meter reading information is displayed on the front of the faceplate; an exterior cover configured to enclose the meter components and the faceplate, wherein the faceplate is forward of the plurality of meter components; and an internal dipole antenna situated within the exterior cover, wherein the internal dipole antenna is beyond the front of the faceplate and toward the front of the utility meter assembly. The internal dipole antenna is typically situated away from the meter components, so as to minimize interference by the meter components.
