Abstract: A distortion in an amplified signal obtained by amplifying a first input signal, is compensated for by applying a correction factor to the first input signal. The correction factor is updated based on the first input signal and the amplified signal. Updating the correction factor is prohibited when a value of the first input signal is same as a value of a second input signal among a plurality of input signals input previous to the first input signal.
Abstract: An error detecting unit of a phase-locked oscillator evaluates difference between a reference phase error signal output from a phase detector and a phase error signal actually output from the phase detector when a reference frequency modulation signal is output from a voltage-controlled oscillator and further detects a frequency error of the frequency modulation signal from the voltage-controlled oscillator based on a rate of change of the difference. A correction unit of the phase-locked oscillator calculates an average value of the frequency error in a predetermined section of the frequency modulation signal and corrects center frequency of the frequency modulation signal by correcting the average value to be zero, and changes the rate of change of control voltage per control step based on comparison between at least two frequency errors in one cycle of the frequency modulation signal. Thus frequency shift of the frequency modulation signal is corrected.
Abstract: In a mobile-communication system including a base-transceiver station (BTS), a visitor-location register (VLR), and controllers for controlling a mobile station (MS), the controllers including at least one mobile-switching center (MSC) each controlling at least one radio-network controller (RNC), when a location-registration request is transmitted from the MS, it is determined whether or not being located in a controlled area of the controllers is allowed. If being located in a controlled area of one of the controllers is not allowed, re-location registration is performed for a cell placed under control of the other controller. If it is difficult to perform the re-location registration, forced-location registration is performed so that the location of a different MS is registered with a different cell. Subsequently, it becomes possible to decrease the state where originating calls are made with difficulty when subscribers are concentrated in a predetermined area.

Abstract: A method for establishing a data packet exchange communication session that allows the exchange of data packets between an originating client and a destination client in a data network having a client-server arrangement is provided. An originating client transmits communications session request data message to a communications management server via a first temporary signaling communications path. The communications session request data message contains at least a unique network address of a destination client. The communications management server, upon determining that said originating client is residing behind a first network firewall, determining whether said first network firewall will allow exchange of data packets between said originating client and any other client not residing behind said first network firewall.

Abstract: In an antenna positioning method for a communication device that performs communication using a plurality of antennas positioned on a straight line, the method has a first step of measuring radiation pattern characteristics of each antenna, a second step of detecting a direction in which fluctuation of the radiation pattern characteristics of each antenna is large, and a third step of positioning each antenna in the communication device so that the direction in which the characteristic fluctuation is large matches the straight line direction.
Abstract: A golf putter with a having a curved body and a high toe design is disclosed and claimed. The putter head includes a face member, which has a heel and a toe, and a body member. The body member is connected to and extends rearward from the face member. At least a portion of the body member is curved toward the heel of the club head. The face member preferably is angled such that the toe has a greater height than the heel. The body member may be similarly angled. The body member extends through the face member and forms at least a portion of a striking face of the club head. The body member may define a hole therethrough, exposing a portion of the face member underneath, which may be used as a club head alignment aid. A variety of body members may interchangeably be connected to a single face member.
