  • Patent number: 8156793
Abstract: An apparatus and method for determining the kinematic characteristics of a golf club head are disclosed. The apparatus includes at least one piezoelectric component selectively positioned within or upon a club head. The piezoelectric component is preferably positioned to the rear of the center of gravity, and near the midpoint of the face of the club head. During a golf club swing, the piezoelectric component determines the acceleration and deceleration of the golf club head. When the club head impacts an object such as a golf ball, the piezoelectric component is also operable to determine the velocity of the club head. It may also be desirable for the piezoelectric component to determine the magnitude of vibration during impact. In this manner, the piezoelectric component may function determine the efficiency of a golf club swing.

  • Patent number: 8149856
Abstract: Each of the plurality of queues stores packet data of a received packet. The read concession assignor assigns one of the plurality of queues with a read concession for a predefined time period. The overdraft storage stores an overdraft amount in connection with each of the plurality of queues. The read adequacy determiner determines, in accordance with an overdraft amount stored in connection with one queue out of the plurality of queues, whether to read packet data from the one queue. The overdraft updater updates at least one of a first overdraft amount stored in connection with a first queue and a second overdraft amount stored in connection with a second queue different from the first queue upon reading packet data from the first queue during a time period while the second queue is assigned with the read concession.

  • Patent number: 8140018
Abstract: A wireless communication system is comprised of multiple radio access networks—RANs—which at least partly share the same frequency spectrum. Each RAN is provided with a gateway—GW—(GW1, GW2, GW3) for managing the network. Spectrum sharing in the system is achieved through a hierarchy of processes including long-term—LT—spectrum assignment, short-term—ST—spectrum assignment, and dynamic channel allocation, the latter process assigning sub-channels to base stations (BS1, . . . BS5; BS6, . . . BS10; BS11, . . . BS16) in each RAN. However, so-called “red” sub-channels (subject to interference) are liable to arise.
