Abstract: An image forming apparatus and method using a toner containing toner particles having a coefficient of shape falling within a range of 1.0 to 1.6 of an amount of at least 65% by number, and having no protrusion of an amount of at least 50% by number, the image forming apparatus including a charging device for uniformly charging a photoreceptor, a developing device for developing an image obtained by imagewise exposure with the toner, a transfer device for transferring a toner image onto a transfer material, a fixing device for fixing, and a cleaning device for cleaning the photoreceptor after the transfer of a toner image, wherein when a toner image which is not to be transferred is formed on the photoreceptor, image formation is performed after cleaning is done a plurality of times for an area on which the toner image has been formed in the previous process.

Abstract: An ion beam-assisted deposition process for preparing a membrane-electrode structure is described wherein a layer of liquid ionomer is applied to the surface of a carbon cloth gas diffusion electrode structure. The coated structure is heated to form an ionomer film on the cloth electrode and the resulting structure is treated with a metal or metal oxide ion-beam having an energy between 500-2000 eV. The process forms a carbon cloth supported metal or a carbon metal oxide ionomer film membrane-electrode structure.

Abstract: Macrocyclic antibiotics having ring structures with at least 10 members act as separation agents in crystallization, precipitation, filtration, electrophoresis, and chromatography. The macrocyclic antibiotics include ansamacrolides, macrolides, macrocyclic peptides, polyenes and derivatives thereof. Abstract: A picture hanger with a height adjustable hook allows the height of the picture to be adjusted from time to time. The hanger uses a back plate on which two opposed crenelated tracks are positioned. Two spring biased crenelated cars are housed in a frame and move on the tracks. The hook is attached to the frame. Abstract: There is described a liquid treatment installation including a tank which defines a substantially vertical flow channel of circular cross section. Disposed coaxially in the flow channel there is a spiral separator plate pack 20 which comprises one or more conical helical plates which define at least one helical flow passage between axially facing surfaces of the plate or plates. The conical helical plate or plates of the separator plate pack 20 consist of a plurality of platelets 10, which have dimensions that allow them to pass through an opening 21 which runs axially through the centre of the spiral separator. The invention also relates to a method of constructing the above liquid treatment installation and to a method for assembling the spiral separator plate pack 20.

The present invention relates to thienyl substituted acylguanidine derivatives, such as compounds of formula (I) in which R1, R2, R4, R6, A, B and D have the meanings indicated in the claims, their physiologically tolerable salts and their prodrugs. The compounds of the present invention are valuable pharmaceutical active compounds. They are vitronectin receptor antagonists and inhibitors of bone resorption by osteoclasts. They are suitable, for example, for the therapy and prophylaxis of diseases which are caused at least partially by an undesired extent of bone resorption, for example of osteoporosis. The invention furthermore relates to processes for the preparation of thienyl substituted acylguanidines, their use, in particular as active ingredients in pharmaceuticals, and pharmaceutical preparations comprising them.
