  • Patent number: 7055685
Abstract: A mixing cap and method for use thereof, wherein the mixing cap is preferably pre-loaded during time of manufacture with a selected dry or liquid ingredient to facilitate subsequent consumer use. The mixing cap comprises an apertured inner tube threadably-engagable to the mouth of a bottle, and an outer housing cooperatively-engaged to the inner tube and slidably-restricted thereover via a flange arrangement. Preloaded ingredients contained within the outer housing may be introduced or discharged into the bottle by simply depressing the outer housing over the inner tube, thereby permitting the ingredients to flow through the apertures of the inner tube and into the liquid contents of the bottle. The combined ingredients and liquid within the bottle may subsequently be shaken without fear or risk of leakage or spillage.

  • Patent number: 7025224
Abstract: A cap is provided for covering an opening in a soda can. The cap may include a depression and a peripheral flange connected to the depression. The peripheral flange may at least partially surround the depression. The depression may be adapted to fit into an opening of a soda can created by a pull tab. There may be a gap in the peripheral flange which allows a pull tab to fit over the depression. The cap may include an inner wall which connects the depression to the peripheral flange. A method is provided of pulling a pull tab on a soda can to create an opening in the soda can, and covering the opening with a cap.

  • Patent number: 7021606
Abstract: The present invention is a lightweight apparatus related generally to lifting heavy objects of construction materials by a single individual, such as panels of sheetrock to inside or outside walls, easily accommodating walls up to 12 feet in height, including angled walls. It is more particularly directed to raising panels of sheetrock to upper portions of a wall and holding the panel in place while an individual nails or screws the sheetrock to the wall studs. A triangular sling-like attachment secures a panel of drywall being lifted by turning the winch. Another attachment on the top section allows the apparatus to lean against the studded wall. The vertical panel lift allows the worker to handle with ease drywall panels that are ¼?, ??, ½? and ?? thick, in addition to holding in place drywall panels as large as 54? wide and 16 feet long.

  • Patent number: 7022093
Abstract: A self-contained heating and cooling orthopaedic brace is described. The brace generally includes a main body having straps to support the brace on the desired area of the body. These areas can include the back, knee, elbow and shoulder. The brace further includes inner pockets having heating and cooling pads connected to a temperature controller that allows manual adjustment of the desired temperature. The heating and cooling elements in the pad typically utilize the Peltier Effect. The temperature controller can include a rechargeable battery for prolonged use. In addition, the brace is a material that allows temperature retention for further prolonged use. The user's own body moisture is also retained for moist heat applications.

  • Patent number: 7017299
Abstract: A gardening cage having self-irrigating and self-fertilizing devices. In a typical embodiment, the cage includes panels having a frame that includes a plurality of horizontal and vertical rungs. The panels are connected so that rungs of respective panels cascade with respect to rungs of the adjacent panel. In a typical embodiment, the bottom rungs of each panel include irrigating holes so that water injected into the rungs can be dispensed around the periphery of the vines. The water is typically suppled to the cage by a hose that connects to a water inlet that feeds the holes. Several cages can be placed side by side and can be fitted with “T” fittings that branch off the supply hose and feed the individual cages via the water inlet fitting.

  • Patent number: 7007691
Abstract: An apparatus and method for humidification of inspired gases, wherein the present invention utilizes moisture from condensed expiratory gases deposited within the outer expiratory tube of a conventional unilimb breathing circuit to humidify oxygen gas (or any other inspiratory gas) for subsequent patient inhalation, and wherein the oxygen gas may be directed through the outer expiratory tube via a novel reverse flow adapter coupled to an oxygen gas source. The present invention preferably functions to effectively eliminate prior art methods of oxygen gas humidification that depend upon the wasteful utilization of bottles of sterile water, corrugated tubing, nebulizer adapters and excess consumption of oxygen gas; thus, effectuating a cost savings for the patient and contributing to overall environmental conservation efforts.
