Abstract: An ankle foot orthosis for remediation of foot drop symptoms includes a flexible cuff formed of a panel having an inner foam substrate to which is bonded an outer layer of stretchable fabric having looped fibers. A pair of dorsiflexor support straps include lace segments which are threaded through lower shoelace eyelets. The lace segments are tied together at the shoe. A hook element fastener strip is attached to the opposite end of each lace segment. The support straps cross one another over the shoe vamp and the fastener strips are secured to the sides and wrapped about the rear of the cuff.
Abstract: A modular field planting system adapted for installation on a roof surface includes an arrangement of substantially identical tray members with each tray member containing two tray compartments. An array of first tray members is positioned on the roof surface with the tray members being in contiguous relationship and oriented in a first direction. A second tray member positionable in overlying relationship with respect to the first tray and rotated 90° with respect to the first direction, is nestably seated within corresponding tray compartments in each of two adjacent first tray members. A wicking material in the first tray member is placed in communication with a wicking material in the second tray member when the respective first and second tray members are seated. The first tray member is adapted to provide a reservoir for water and the second tray member is adapted to retain a growth medium whereby the wicking material provides continuous moisture migration for hydrating the growth medium.
Abstract: A monitoring systems includes at least one fixed location monitoring station, a remote central station and a communications link interconnecting the monitoring station with the remote central station. The monitoring station includes a processor coupled to an input device for retrieving subject identification definition data and subject location definition data. The processor also retrieves physiological parameter sampling data from the subject and determines whether the physiological parameter sampling data lies within boundary limits of the identification definition data and also determines whether the location of the monitoring station lies within boundary limits of the location definition data. In the event the sampling data and the fixed location are within boundary limits, the processor may actuate an access control to permit the subject to enter or exit a controlled premises.
