  • Patent number: 6782838
Abstract: A bow and skew reduction control system and method is disclosed. In a tufting machine, an elongate bow roll is positioned intermediate a supply of a backing material to be tufted and a cloth feed roll positioned upstream of a needle bar. The backing material is passed at least partially about the bow roll and is passed over the cloth feed roll and into a tufting zone positioned with respect to the needle bar. The bow roll is provided with an actuator operably coupled to a controller. The roll of backing material is supported at its respective ends by a pair of jack assemblies, the jack assemblies being constructed and arranged for independent operation, and for raising and lowering, respectively, the ends of the roll of backing material as instructed by the controller. At least one, or a plurality, of spaced weft yarn markers are formed or otherwise disposed on the backing material and are parallel with the weft yarns thereof.

  • Patent number: 6780120
Abstract: A golf club, such as a putter, having a first tube, a second tube, and a clamp assembly. The clamp assembly defines a longitudinally extending bore, a shoulder surface on the exterior surface of the clamp assembly, an orifice extending from the inner surface of the bore toward the exterior surface of the clamp assembly, and an aperture extending between the orifice and the exterior surface of the clamp assembly. A lower portion of the clamp assembly is received within the first tube. The putter further including a shaft and a captured fastening member. The shaft is received within the bore of the clamp assembly and a portion of the shaft proximate its rear end is received within the second tube. The fastening member is operatively received within the orifice of the clamp assembly and is in selective contact with a portion of the exterior surface of the shaft such that the shaft and the second tube may be fixed relative to the clamp assembly.

  • Patent number: 6773593
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for treating wastewater having bio-solids therein. The system includes a tank, a wastewater inlet line, an effluent discharge outlet line, and an aeration source. The tank has an upper aeration chamber and a lower clarification chamber separated by a common inclined partition having an opening defined therein. The inclined partition opens into the lower clarification chamber near a bottom of the tank which allows fluid communication between the upper aeration chamber and the lower clarification chamber. The bottom of the tank has a bio-sludge outlet for removal of settled bio-solids. The wastewater inlet line opens into the aeration chamber and an intake end of the effluent discharge outlet line is positioned within the clarification chamber. The aeration source is positioned within the aeration chamber to supply air to the wastewater within the aeration chamber.

  • Patent number: 6761772
Abstract: In order to ensure uniform coating of workpieces, workpiece holders carrying said workpieces are rotatably mounted at the edge of a turntable, a plurality of which are fastened in succession at adjustable distances to a drivable shaft. In order to trigger intermittent rotations of the workpiece holders, a driver finger of a driving device engages in each case a drive wheel thereof on each revolution of the turntable, so that the workpiece holders are rotated relative to the turntable through a specific angle in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of said turntable. In order that no readjustment of the driver finger is required, for example in the case of a change of distances between the turntables, said driver finger is fastened to an extension of a rotating ring, which is mounted on the turntable itself so as to be non-displaceable in the direction of the shaft but rotatable about said shaft.

  • Patent number: 6746306
Abstract: A postoperative bilateral augmentation mammaplasty brassiere for use by women with augmented breasts is disclosed. The brassiere provides a support cup shaped to mimic a spherically shaped breast implant. The brassiere further provides an underwire within the construction of the brassiere, the underwire having a semicircular portion to mimic the round base of an augmented breast. A connector is provided between two support cups, each with an associated underwire, such that the distance between proximal ends of the underwires is established for the comfort of the wearer and the attractive appearance of the brassiere.

  • Patent number: 6706118
Abstract: A coating apparatus for applying a coating liquid to a printing substrate. The apparatus includes a rotatable first roll, and a rotatable second roll positioned adjacent to the first roll and defining with the first roll a first nip through which the printing substrate passes. The apparatus also has a metering device for applying a layer of coating liquid onto the second roll, which in turn transfers the coating liquid to the printing substrate. The apparatus further has a controller that communicates with at least the second roll, wherein the controller performs the steps of determining whether the idle time of the second roll is longer than a predetermined threshold, setting a pre-spin flag if the idle time of the second roll is longer than a predetermined threshold, and directing the second roll to perform a pre-spin upon the presence of the pre-spin flag.
