  • Patent number: 8311225
Abstract: A solution for scalable key archival includes, at a network device, determining whether a key management device that is not part of a current key management device configuration has been newly added to a network. The method also includes, if the key management device has been newly added to the network, determining whether the network device has a first application program interface (API) or device driver for communicating with the key management device. The method also includes, if the network device does not have the first API, obtaining the API. The method also includes creating a binding between a virtual device driver of the network device and the key management device via the first API, the network device having a second API for communications between the virtual device driver and a security processor of the network device. • Patent number: 8311315
Abstract: A color image of an inspection object is taken by an imaging means capable of taking a color image to obtain color information of an RGB color space. A gray-scale image of a color component of the RGB color space or another color space is generated, and the inspection object is detected by a pattern recognition technique. Alternatively, a binary image is generated from the generated gray-scale image, and the inspection object is detected by performing pattern recognition on the binary image. Color data of a pixel occupied by the detected inspection object is compared with color data of a non-defective inspection object which is previously prepared to judge whether or not the inspection object is defective. In addition, this judgment result is reflected in another manufacturing step through a network and product quality is improved.

  • Patent number: 8310344
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for radio frequency identification provides an on-off keyed amplitude-modulated illumination signal containing a sequence of bits configured to illuminate a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, The illumination signal is received at the RFID tag, rectified to generate a wake signal for waking a processor which is subsequently powered by a battery. The received illumination signal is sampled and subjected to a thresholding process. Mobile telephone band interference is countered by correlating the sampled illumination signal to determine its bit sequence and then correlating the bit sequence against a predetermined key. An identification signal from the RFID tag is sent in response to a match.

  • Patent number: 8304672
Abstract: A motorized racking mechanism for racking a circuit breaker into and out of switchgear/board equipment allows for breaker service without operator proximity to the switchgear. A motor fixed to a cradle that receives a circuit breaker is coupled to a power transmission system that turns a control screw. The control screw laterally moves a crown-wheel device that causes the circuit breaker to be moved among a remove, test, and connected positions in response to a button arm being depressed via a front panel of the cradle. The button arm can be depressed under wireless remote control. A solenoid is coupled to a crank detent actuator that includes the button arm, and a wireless module actuates the solenoid, which moves the button arm, causing the motorized movement of the circuit breaker as if the button arm had been manually depressed. Indicator lights are visible on the front panel to indicate the position of the circuit breaker relative to the cradle.

  • Patent number: 8304194
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for measuring the amount of a target nucleic acid in a sample using a standard which is designed to have one base difference compared with the gene of interest or a “target nucleic acid sequence.” Use of such standard in combination with a method of “enhancing” the difference in the standard and the test nucleic acid sample using, for example, a base extension reaction carried right at the mutation site allowing amplification of the standard and target nucleic acids with the same efficiency and facilitating quantification of the target nucleic acid. Thereafter a means of quantifying the “enhanced” standard and target nucleic acid samples is used to determine the amount of the target nucleic acid. In the preferred embodiment, the quantification means is Mass Spectrometry.

  • Patent number: 8303418
Abstract: An illustrative method controls changes to be made in electronic gaming machines (EGMs) that permit wagering on games. A schedule of conditions to be implemented by one or more EGMs is stored in memory. The schedule includes records containing the identity of an EGM, conditions to be implemented by the identified EGM, dates on which the conditions are to be implemented, and start and end times during which the implementation is to occur. Each record stores a priority parameter. It is determined that at least two records are to be implemented on the same date such that a time overlap in servicing the implementation of first and second conditions associated with the first and second records would result. A time sequence of execution of the first and second records is determined based on the respective priority parameters of each of the first and second records.
