    Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved method for preparing a product by introducing a rigid polyurethane foam formulation into a cavity defined by two spaced apart formed sheets and allowing the formulation to foam. In one embodiment, the improvement resides in providing at least one of the sheets with a portion having the shape of a gate of the type used in polyurethane reaction injection molding and introducing the formulation through that gate so that the formulation enters the cavity as a laminar stream.

    Abstract: A switching power supply system which is able to connect two or more different power sources with different voltage levels, and can provide uninterrupted power even when the primary power source is low or absent. The output voltage is much more steady than that in a conventional switching power supply and the efficiency loss is smaller as well. As a result, the backup supply time is longer than a conventional UPS system. Finally, when used in, for example, a notebook computer, there is no need to use an AC to DC adaptor when connecting to commercial AC power since the switching power supply can be directly connected to the commercial AC power for operation.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to the production of molded polyurethane products having high flexural moduli (i.e. 1,000,000 psi or more) and high elongation wherein a reaction mixture is reacted in a closed mold. The reaction mixture comprises reacting a liquid, room temperature stable, isocyanate prepolymer with at least two hydroxy-functional polyethers having average hydroxyl functionalities of from 1.5 to 8 and number average molecular weights of from 350 to 1800, at least one hydroxyl functional organic material containing from 2 to 8 hydroxyl groups and having a number average molecular weight below 350 and at least two hydroxyl functional organic materials having average hydroxy functionalities of from 1.5 to 3 and having number average molecular weights of 4000 or more. The products are prepared from these processes using such specified isocyanate prepolymers and polyol blends.

    Abstract: This invention relates to repairing the water leakage problem of panel joints in an exterior building surface. In addition, this method may also be used to project new panel joints. A long lasting effective repair method is provided by using two extruded component parts assembled in the field to cover up the existing panel joints such that a number of P.E. Cavities and air links are created to form P.E. Seals around the existing panel joints such that elements such as exterior water can no longer reach the leaking joints. Since P.E. Seals can tolerate a significant degree of imperfection without causing the water infiltration problem, the effectiveness of the repair work can be expected to last for a long time.

The deflecting element is flat in the longitudinal direction, so that a channel with an essentially constant cross-section is formed between the lower facing sheet and the upper covering sheet guided by the deflecting element, the length of which channel in a longitudinal direction is several times greater than its central height H.sub.M. The deflecting element can be oscillated about an axis at the entry end where it rests on the reaction mixture by the application of pressure.
