Abstract: A process for producing 2-acrylamide-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid (ATBS) which comprises reacting acrylonitrile, fuming sulfuric acid, and isobutylene. During the reaction, the concentration of 2-methyl-2-propenyl-1-sulfonic acid (IBSA) and/or that of 2-methylidene-1,3-propylenedisulfonic acid (IBDSA) in the reaction system are determined. When the IBSA concentration exceeds 12,000 mass ppm and/or the IBDSA concentration exceeds 6,000 mass ppm, then the concentration of sulfur trioxide in the reaction system is reduced. Thus, ATBS having an IBSA content of 100 mass ppm or lower and an IBDSA content of 100 mass ppm or lower is produced.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for introducing ultrasound into a flowable medium using a sonotrode, wherein the flowable medium is not in direct contact with the sonotrode. Disclosed is a method comprising the following steps: placing a film (8) on the sonotrode (4) in such a way that the contact force by means of which the film (8) is pressed on the sonotrode (4) is always so great that the film (8) follows the lifting motions of the sonotrode (4) in the corresponding frequency and amplitude; applying ultrasound power through the film (8) into the medium (2) and transmitting the wear phenomena onto the film (8).

Abstract: A cleaning article comprises a substrate in the form of a wipe loaded with a cleaning agent and loaded with a heat generating agent which generates heat when the wipe is exposed to water.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for precipitation of peptide where the mixing step of the peptide with the precipitation aid and the precipitation itself are specially separated.
Abstract: The invention relates to a linear actuator (1), at least including a stator (3) that is placed within a cartridge-like casing (2), a bearing ring (4) with a bearing seat for mounting a rotor (5) with an antifriction bearing (6), a spindle (7) that on its drive side (7.1) is together with the rotor (5) designed as motion transformer to transform the rotary motion into a translatory motion and a flange (9) that closes the casing (2) on the output side (8) of the linear actuator (1), the flange (9) being equipped with an anti-rotation locking device for the spindle output side (7.2) that penetrates the flange (9). According to the invention the cartridge-like casing (2) is provided with several formed bending tongues (10.1, 10.2), whereby in assembled condition first bending tongues (10.1) engage with groove-like recesses (11) of the bearing ring (4) of the antifriction bearing (6) and second bending tongues (10.

Abstract: A lead-free, frangible bullet is provided. The lead-free, frangible bullet is manufactured without sintering or external heating of the bullet. The bullet is prepared by blending a lead-free copper powder mixture and cold compacting the powder in a die to form a bullet. The copper powder can be atomized copper powder, electrolytic copper powder, or a combination of atomized and electrolytic copper powder. The atomized copper powder can be water atomized, air atomized, and combination of water and air atomized. Preferably, the frangible bullet has a fragmentation less than 5 grains.

Abstract: Device for adjustable mounting of the rear end of runners (18) of pull-out guides on the inner end region, facing away from the front panel, of drawers (10) or other furniture components withdrawably mounted in the carcass of a piece of furniture, with a mounting element (22) which is disposed so as to be adjustable in height on the rear end of the runner (18) and which can be brought into sliding engagement with a receiving arrangement provided on the rear of the drawer (18) by relative displacement of the drawer on the runner in the longitudinal direction of the runner. The mounting element (22) is disposed on a lever arm which is mounted on the runner so as to be pivotable in a vertical plane about an axis (A) extending horizontally at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the runner (18), and a height adjusting mechanism is provided which acts on the one hand on the lever arm and on the other hand on the runner.
Abstract: The invention provides a moist wipe for cleaning a surface, the wipe comprising a sheet material premoistened with an aqueous emulsion comprising a wax and no or a low amount of silicone compounds. The wipe is used to wipe a surface, to prevent or reduce against water staining on the surface, as might arise from subsequent contact with aqueous liquids. The invention further provides a packaged product containing at least one wipe, and a method of manufacturing moist wipes.
Abstract: The invention provides CD4+CD25? T cells and Tr1-like regulatory T cells (i.e., contact-independent Type 1-like regulatory T cells), processes for their production and their use for regulatory purposes.
Abstract: Tertiary non-vinylic carbamates of molecular weight less than 350 are useful as fragrance ingredients. A method of preparation is also described.
Abstract: Damping movement device of pieces of furniture which are movable relative to stationary parts. The device has a cylinder with a piston movable in a longitudinal direction, forming a modifiable working chamber filled with liquid medium. The liquid medium is transferred in a throttled manner. A piston rod is sealingly guided and connected to one side of the piston. The movement of the parts of furniture which is to be damped is transmitted to the piston via the outer end of the piston rod facing away from the piston. A volume compensating mechanism is provided. The piston rod is coupled to the piston with overflow ports. The non-return disk with overflow port is moved into sealing contact with the facing piston face. A spring biasing the facing faces of the non-return disk and the piston into the spaced-apart position is arranged between the non-return disk and the piston.
Abstract: A detergent dispensing device for an automatic washing machine has a cartridge, a selecting mechanism, an operating mechanism, and a thermal element. The cartridge includes a plurality of chambers to accommodate a detergent composition. The selecting mechanism selectively exposes each chamber to wash liquor allowing the detergent, in use, to be washed out of the chamber. The operating mechanism is movable from a first position to a second position for loading mechanical energy into the device which provides a restoring force for the operating mechanism. The thermal element retains the operating means in the second position and is arranged to move when subjected to an elevated temperature prevailing in an interior of the washing machine during a wash cycle, thereby the thermal element moves or releases the operating mechanism. The operating mechanism is arranged to advance the selecting mechanism to an adjacent chamber as the cartridge remains stationary.
