Abstract: There is described a system and a method for analyzing spots in a micro-array, the spots containing targeted specimen, the method comprising the steps of: providing a slide with a micro-array of the spots thereon; illuminating at least one of the spots; directing the light onto the at least one spot; collecting light emitted from the at least one spot; forming an image of the at least one spot using the collected light; and analyzing the image to distinguish at least one unit of the targeted specimen located within the at least one spot from any undesired material. The analysis results are aimed at the detection, classification and quantification of optically resolvable specimen such as micro-organisms or cells.

Abstract: A method for providing wavetable information to a wireless device from a content server over a wireless network, the wavetable information including a plurality of samples corresponding to a plurality of notes, comprising: in response to a request from the wireless device, receiving at a proxy server the wavetable information from the content server; filtering the wavetable information in accordance with a selection of samples contained in the request; and, transmitting the filtered wavetable information to the wireless device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing documents are disclosed. Documents received at a data server are transcoded using locally stored or generated code books. Code books for transcoded documents received at a wireless mobile communication device are either retrieved from a memory on the device or requested from a data server. In response to a code book request, a data server retrieves a requested code book from a local memory or generates the requested code book and returns the requested code book to a requestor. A wireless mobile communication device may also generate and transcode XML documents using a locally stored code book, a locally generated code book, or a code book received in response to a code book request.

Abstract: A gas turbine engine reverse-flow sheet metal combustor for an aero gas turbine engine has a louverless single-piece liner design which includes a plurality of effusion patches, containing multiple rows of effusion cooling holes, bounded by cooled effusionless bands to aid in repairability of the combustor. The cooling of the bands improves the durability of the combustor and provides a method of repair for the combustor.

Abstract: An application generation environment coordinates development of component-based two-tiered applications using a unifying data model comprising an interconnected model of objects. The data model unifies the two-tiered application to present a single logical application for visualization and for programming using a graphical user interface. The data model transparently programs tiers of the application in response to user input to program the single logical application. Application components are generated for execution within a two-tiered execution environment such as a client device (e.g. a wireless mobile device) and a gateway server providing a stateful proxy with which to access services or a remote data source via a network. The application components may by generated with marks to denote portions thereof for execution within the respective tiers of the two-tiered execution environment.

Abstract: A single-site color image, such as a Bayer CCD image, is converted to a color space image using the resource of a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). The Bayer image is loaded into the GPU along with commands to cause the texture engine in the GPU to use the Bayer image as a source texture and to compute, for each pixel in a destination image having same dimensions as the single-site color camera image, interpolated neighbor pixel values from the single-site color camera image for the remainder of said colors. A code image can be used to provide, for each pixel in the destination image, a value for each combination of color space image color and each Bayer image color. Each pixel is then computed as a sum of a product of each code image. value and a corresponding value selected from the corresponding source texture pixels and an interpolation of neighboring source texture pixels.
