Abstract: A lighter having a housing that contains a fluid reservoir and an ignition member; an actuation switch that is disposed on the housing; and a nozzle assembly that includes a nozzle head and a flexible support tube that supports the nozzle head at its distal end. The flexible support tube extends from the housing through a housing port. The flexible support tube has a nested position in which it is disposed within the housing and an extended position in which the flexible support tube extends from the housing through the port enabling the flexible support tube to be bent in multiple directions for directing the nozzle head.
Abstract: In a method for sealing and/or reconditioning of pipes through spraying a fluid coating material towards the inner wall of the pipe at least one material piece divided in the longitudinal direction thereof held together under pretension to a pipe piece with an outer diameter being less than the inner diameter of the pipe is before the spraying introduced into the pipe to a location for a substantial hole in the pipe wall for covering the hole. The mechanisms for holding it together is then broken so that the pipe piece will bear under pretension against the inner wall of the pipe and form an auxiliary wall over the hole retaining the material sprayed inside the pipe.
Abstract: A pattern structure of at least two different layer system elements disposed adjacent one beside the other upon a carrier substrate, at least one of said layer system elements comprises a layer of dielectric material, the layer of dielectric material residing upon a layer of a material that is resistant to activated oxygen or activated water and having a second surface facing toward the substrate. The dielectric layer of the one layer system element forms a disturbed region between the adjacent layer system elements, the dielectric layer having a thickness of d5 and wherein the disturbed region has a width of at most 10*d5.

Abstract: A method of production of optically active compounds, particularly halohydrocarbons, haloalcohols, alcohols, halopolyols and polyols using hydrolytic dehalogenation of racemic or prochiral halegenhydrocarbons by dehalohenation catalysed by haloalkane dehalogenases (the enzyme code number EC 3.8.1.5) where at least one wild type or modified haloalkane dehalogenase is applied to at least one racemic or prochiral chlorinated, brominated or iodinated compound at the temperature ranged between +10 and +70° C. and pH value between 4.0 and 12.0, in aqueous system or in a monophasic organic solution or in a monophasic organic/aqueous solution or in organic/aqueous biphasic systems.

Abstract: A device provides a hybridization chamber for hybridizing nucleic acid samples, proteins or tissue sections on a slide, and is an essentially rectangular body movable opposite the slide. The device includes a surface, lines for supplying and/or removing media, a specimen supply line and an agitating device. The agitation device includes at least one membrane which separates a pressure chamer to be fillable with a pressure fluid via one of the lines, from at least one agitation chamber connected via an agitation line to the hybridization chamber. The lines are continuously open so the media therein can permanently flow unhindered. Four such devices can be combined into a process unit for providing a hybridization chamber. Such unit is pivotable around an axis and has a holder with four seats, which is lockable in relation to a baseplate, one device being insertable into each one of the seats.

Abstract: The invention relates to a ball bearing with an inner race (2) and an outer race (1) disposed coaxially with respect to it, wherein between inner race (2) and outer race (1) bearing balls (6) are disposed which are guided by means of a cage (3), the cage (3) being comprised of a composite material. The invention addresses the problem of proposing a ball bearing, which combines a long service life with the properties of being capable of operating after a lubrication system failure. This is attained thereby that the composite material comprises epoxide resin as well as fibers.
Abstract: A diaphragm pressure measuring cell arrangement has a housing body at least partly made of sapphire material and a planar sapphire diaphragm with a peripheral edge joined by a first edge seal to the housing body to form a reference vacuum chamber. An outer surface of the diaphragm is exposed to a medium to be measured. A ceramic supporting body is attached to the back side of the housing body by sealing glass and includes a surface area overhanging that surrounds the housing body to form a first sealing surface. A tubular sensor casing incorporates the measuring cell for mounted the ceramic support body, the casing including an inside second surrounding sealing surface corresponding to the first sealing surface. A metal ring seal is between the sealing surfaces and a pressing member presses sealing surfaces together.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (1) having hybridization chambers (5) for hybridizing nucleic acid samples, proteins, or tissue sections immobilized on slides (27), each hybridization chamber (5) being defined as an essentially gap-shaped chamber, which is essentially fillable with a liquid, between one of these slides (27) and a cover (26), and the cover (26) being positioned in relation to the slide (27) in such a way that the hybridization chamber (5) is sealed to the surrounding air, the system (1) including a device for preventing air bubbles in the hybridization chambers (5). The system according to the present invention is distinguished in that this device for preventing air bubbles in the hybridization chambers (5) is implemented as a pressure device to build up a chamber pressure in the hybridization chambers (5), this chamber pressure lying above the normal atmospheric pressure existing in the surrounding air.
